Through Sufistic values, urban communities can practice applicable spiritual values amid the increasingly complex dynamics of modern human life. The purpose of this study is to describe the Sufistic values taught in Imam Al-Ghazali’s Sufism teachings and the relationship between Sufistic values and social intelligence in urban communities. The research method employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a field study research design through an interactive model. Abstract

This paper examines the role of contemporary da'wah in responding to the ecological crisis that has become a global challenge in the 21st Century. By referring to Islamic values that view humans as khalifah on earth, this research highlights the importance of integrating Islamic theological principles with ecological awareness to foster a robust environmental conservation ethic. The da'wah approach developed is directed to be relevant and contextual to the socio-cultural conditions of Muslims today so that the message of environmental sustainability does not only become an abstract idea but is implemented in the form of commitment and real action. Through literature studies and content analysis of various da'wah materials that address environmental themes, this study found that da'wah strategies that combine religious values and ecological awareness can collectively foster moral orientation and environmentally friendly behavior. The research recommends the development of innovative and collaborative da'wah methods that utilize digital media and social networks to expand the reach and impact of the Islam-based environmental conservation movement.

Abstract

The relationship between Islam and ancestral religion in the Savu tribe in NTT presents an interesting dynamic to study. Islam, which came later in the 19th century, was able to adapt to the culture of the Savu tribe. This study aims to explore and analyze the relationship between Islam and the ancestral religion of the Savu tribe from the perspective of living Qur'an. This research is a qualitative descriptive study based on field research. Data in this study were obtained through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results of study indicate that the development of Islam in Savu occurred through marriages between native residents and newcomers from Bugis, Kalimantan, and Java. The newcomers, some of whom were traders in Savu Raijua, spread Islam through economic channels. On this island, there is only one mosque that is the center of Islamic worship and education. The practice of living Qur'an occuring between the Muslim community and the Jingitiu community is through socio-religious activities centered in the Jami An-Nur mosque. For example, during the construction of the mosque, the ancestral religious community transported stones and sand. Similarly, during the Eid al-Adha celebration from year to year, non-Muslim residents of the Savu tribe help Muslims to separate the skin of the sacrificial animal, cut it into meat, and distribute it to residents in the area. This study provides invaluable insight into how the living Qur'an can be used to create social harmony between Islam and ancestral beliefs in a pluralistic and multicultural society such as the Savu tribe. The successful integration of Islamic values into local culture depends on an approach based on tolerance, harmony, and respect for local traditions.

Abstract

The discovery of manuscripts preserved by the community on the slopes of Mount Kawi, specifically in the village of Sumberdem, Wonosari, Malang, is significant and merits further exploration through content analysis. In addition to serving as evidence of the village’s identity as an Islamic proselytizing center, these manuscripts deserve to be studied and their contents revealed. One particularly noteworthy manuscript is Layang Fasholatan, which outlines concise guidelines on fiqh, akidah, and morals/tasawwuf that remain relevant in the present context. Its content can also be contextualized with the responsibilities of a village imam/modin, whose role includes leading religious rites such as weddings and funeral processions. Despite the breadth of prior research, few studies have specifically examined the practical relevance of manuscript content to the contemporary roles of village religious leaders such as the modin. This study offers a novel contribution by contextualizing the worship-related teachings in Layang Fasholatan within the lived religious duties of a modin in modern rural Java. Using a philological approach, content analysis, and in-depth interviews, this study presents a focused analysis of the manuscript, specifically within the scope of amaliyah/fiqh and worship. The manuscript provides a concise guide to funeral practices, prayer procedures, devotional supplications (wirid), and marriage contract guidelines. This study affirms that Layang Fasholatan, with its emphasis on worship practices, aligns closely with the religious functions and practical needs of a modin, making it both a historically and contemporarily valuable resource. While the research effectively utilizes philological and content analysis methods, it remains a preliminary exploration focused solely on the amaliyah aspect, leaving ample opportunity for future studies to examine its other dimensions and broader applications.

Abstract

This study examines the practice of Tahlil Marriage carried out in several sub-districts in East Lombok Regency. Tahlil marriage or Cine Bute or muhallil is carried out as a condition that reconciliation between ex-husband and ex-wife who has been divorced is permissible. Tahlil Marriage (Cine Bute) in the Sasak community is carried out secretly without authorization from the Office of Religious Affairs. This research is classified as qualitative research with an empirical normative approach. Data were collected using observation, interview and documentation techniques and were analyzed through the perspective of Maqasid al-Shari’ah and Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI). This research found that Tahlil marriage in East Lombok Regency was divided into three forms: common marriages, contractual marriages, and common marriages initiated by contract marriages. In the view of Maqasid al-Shari'ah, the Tahlil marriages carried out by the Sasak tribe do not fulfill the aspects of dharuriyya, hajjiyat and tahsiniyyat. Among the factors that influence the Tahlil marriages performed by the Sasak tribe are the ease of divorce, the lack of public legal awareness, the low level of public education, the lack of understanding of religion and the weakness of law enforcement.
