Abstract

UNWTO states that the record of the length of stay of tourists in most tourist destinations in the world tends to be low and decreasing. In line with this issue, Kebumen Regency is recorded to have a low tourist length of average stay duration, which is 0.54 days until the end of 2019. The tourists’ length of stay is closely related to the acceptance of the destination expenditure, and an increase in tourist stays can be a solution for Kebumen Regency which is noted to be the poorest district in Central Java. This research is intended to find the level of influence of destination attributevariables on the tourists’ length of stay variables. In describing the required attributes, used ten attributes of tourist destinations, namely infrastructure, superstructure, accessibility, activities/ events, local culture, physiography, destination management, service quality, hospitality, and place attachments. In this study, a descriptive method with a quantitative approach is used to obtain a detailed description of the actual conditions of the Kebumen destination attributes and their effect on the length of stay of tourists from the measured sub-variables. The result is found that destination attributes have a significant effect on the tourists’ length of stay in Kebumen with a coefficient of determination (magnitude of influence) of 68.8%. The attributes considered in good condition by the respondents are infrastructure, superstructure, accessibility, physiography, destination management, service quality, and hospitality attributes. On the contrary, more intense and comprehensive development is still needed on the activities/ events, local culture, and place attachments attributes.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial intention among vocational tourism students has emerged as a critical focus in promoting job creation and self-employment in the creative economy sector. This study aims to examine the direct effects of entrepreneurial education, learning experience, industry openness, and digital efficacy on students' entrepreneurial intention while also evaluating the psychological roles of self-efficacy and attitude toward entrepreneurship. Employing a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), data were collected from 278 vocational tourism students in Indonesia through an online survey. The results indicate that entrepreneurial education significantly influences both self-efficacy and entrepreneurial attitude. Learning experience positively impacts self-efficacy, while industry openness demonstrates a strong direct effect on entrepreneurial intention. Digital efficacy does not directly affect self-efficacy or intention but contributes positively to entrepreneurial attitude. Conversely, self-efficacy does not have a significant direct effect on intention, whereas attitude toward entrepreneurship does. These findings extend the application of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) by integrating contextual factors related to vocational education and provide strategic insights for curriculum designers and policymakers aiming to enhance the entrepreneurial capacity of vocational tourism institutions.

Abstract

Tourism villages are increasingly recognized as models of sustainable and community-based tourism; yet, their success largely depends on the effectiveness of governance. This study evaluates the governance performance of Pokdarwis (Tourism Awareness Groups) in Cipada Tourism Village, West Bandung Regency, from the perspective of visitor satisfaction. Using a quantitative descriptive design, data were collected from 105 visitors via structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings reveal that visitors positively perceived the village's cultural uniqueness and environmental cleanliness, while infrastructure and informational signage were rated lower. Overall satisfaction, emotional happiness, and revisit intention were high, with hospitality and cultural immersion serving as the strongest drivers. Governance reflections suggest that Pokdarwis has been effective in mobilizing community participation and preserving cultural authenticity, but faces challenges in infrastructure provision and interpretive communication. The study concludes that visitor satisfaction serves not only as an outcome but also as a feedback mechanism for governance performance. Practical recommendations include improving infrastructure, enhancing interpretive communication, diversifying tourism products, and strengthening partnerships through the Penta Helix model. This research contributes to tourism governance literature by empirically linking visitor satisfaction to local governance performance in rural contexts.
