Abstract

This article analyses the Exodus as a manifestation of the missio Dei that reveals God’s theology of liberation within salvation history. Employing a qualitative method through content analysis of biblical texts, this study highlights God’s actions of “seeing” (r?’? r?’îtî), “hearing” (š?ma‘tî), “knowing” (y?da‘tî), and “coming down” (y?radtî lehatsîl?m) to deliver His people from Egyptian oppression (Exod. 3:7–8). These actions demonstrate that mission originates from God’s own initiative, grounded in love, justice, and faithfulness to the berith (covenant). The findings indicate that liberation in the Exodus is holistic in nature, encompassing spiritual, social, ethical, and ecological dimensions. The contemporary Church is called to participate in the missio Dei by embodying signs of the Kingdom of God through authentic worship, social justice, and the restoration of creation.
