Abstract

Chronic gastritis remains one of the most common serious pandemic infections, with deadly residual symptoms such as peptic ulcers or stomach cancer. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a non-probability sampling technique. The results of the study show that the mean value before hypnotherapy was 23.40, which falls within the moderate stress range, and the mean value after hypnotherapy was 2.10, which falls within the normal stress range. Meanwhile, the mean value in the control group before the test was 25.90, which falls within the moderate stress range, and the mean value in the control group after the test was 23.40, which also falls within the moderate stress range. Statistical tests for the average stress levels of both groups on the third day yielded a p-value of 0.0001, indicating a difference in the average stress levels between the control group and the intervention group. This suggests that hypnotherapy has an effect on the stress levels of patients with chronic gastritis, meaning that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The results of this study can enhance knowledge about the effect of hypnotherapy on stress levels in patients with gastritis, thereby reducing stress. For community health centers (Puskesmas), it is necessary to develop and expand the application of this hypnotherapy method, as it is an easy and quick way to reduce and eliminate stress in patients with chronic gastritis, preventing the public from misjudging the practice of hypnotherapy.

Abstract

Background: Inadequate sleep and poor quality could interfere with the elderly health. The number of elderly people with sleep quality problems will be much larger, more serious, and more complex. One way to overcome sleep quality is non-pharmacological therapy, one of which using lavender aromatherapy. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of lavender aromatherapy to the sleep quality of elderly at a Nursing Home. Methods: This research used a quasy experiment with a purpossive sampling design. Sample 32 elderly was divided into 2 groups, intervention and control groups. Data obtained used a translate of PSQI questionnaire. The intervention groups was given the lavender aromatherapy for 5 days. Data analyzed for the univariate and bivariate used a Mann-Whitney test. Results: Score of sleep quality in the intervention group pretest was 9.13 and posttest was 4.69. The score were decrease approximately 4,44 point. Whereas in the control group pretest was 9.19 and posttest was 8.13. The bivariate analysis for pre and post test data in intervention group revealed that the p-value was 0.001 (<α=0.05).Conclusion: Lavender aromatherapy significantly effect the sleep quality of elderly in a nursing home

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the achievement of self-integrity in the elderly and the mental health of the elderly. The method used is a correlation study with a cross-sectional approach. The results showed that 81.8% of the elderly had good self-integrity. 9.1% of the elderly experienced mild depression, 12.1% experienced mild anxiety, and none experienced stress (0%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between self-integrity and depression (p-value = 0.547), and there was no significant relationship between self-integrity and anxiety (p-value = 0.441). In conclusion, there is no relationship between self-integrity and mental health in the elderly. Keywords: Anxiety, Depression, Self-Integrity, Elderly, Stress

Abstract

This study employs a descriptive quantitative method with a bibliometric approach to analyze research trends related to fall prevention in the elderly. E-counseling, as an innovative approach to fall prevention, has not been widely explored in previous studies. Data indicate that approximately 30–40% of older adults experience falls each year, and 50% of them suffer recurrent falls, which may lead to serious injuries or even death. The bibliometric analysis was conducted to identify key keywords, research trends, and inter-topic relationships within the existing literature. The network visualization results show that topics such as “Prevention Program,” “Knowledge,” “Nurse,” and “Technology” are major focuses in this field of research. The role of technology and family support was also identified as a crucial factor in fall prevention strategies. The proximity of nodes in the network indicates that these keywords frequently co-occur in publications, reflecting strong interconnections among these topics in the context of fall prevention in the elderly. The importance of research on e-counseling for families of elderly individuals at risk of falling lies in its potential to provide emotional support and relevant information to help families manage fall risks. Through e-counseling, families can be better prepared to provide necessary care, enhance the safety of the home environment, and understand the specific risk factors faced by older adults. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for the development of more effective and targeted e-counseling programs, ultimately improving the quality of life and safety of the vulnerable elderly population.

Abstract

Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder experienced by older adults and may negatively affect their health and quality of life. Sleep hygiene refers to behavioral and environmental practices that promote good sleep quality through proper pre-sleep activities and a conducive sleep environment. The prevalence of insomnia among older adults in Indonesia is relatively high, including in West Java Province and the Cibeber sub-district. This study aimed to determine the relationship between sleep hygiene behavior and insomnia among older adults at the RW 02 Integrated Health Post (Posbindu) in the working area of Cibeber Public Health Center, Cimahi City, in 2025. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. Purposive sampling was used to recruit 114 respondents. The instruments included the Sleep Hygiene Index (SHI) and the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). Data were analyzed using frequency distribution for univariate analysis and Spearman Rank correlation test for bivariate analysis with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant relationship between sleep hygiene behavior and insomnia among older adults (p = 0.001; r = 0.868), indicating a very strong and positive correlation. Proper implementation of sleep hygiene practices may reduce insomnia levels in older adults. Therefore, education and intervention programs focusing on sleep hygiene should be strengthened in elderly health services.
