Abstract

Penyuluhan kesehatan gigi sangat diperlukan dalam meningkatkan perilaku masyarakat agar terbebas dari masalah-masalah kesehatan. Keberhasilan seorang penyuluh dalam menyampaikan materi penyuluhan kesehatan gigi ditentukan oleh banyak hal, salah satu diantaranya ialah adanya media dan metode penyuluhan kesehatan gigi yang efektif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui debris indeks anak TK Global Mandiri Regency sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan penyuluhan kesehatan gigi tentang menyikat gigi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode pra eksperimental dengan pendekatan one group pre and posttest design yang dilakukan pada siswa kelas TK B TK Global Mandiri Regency. Jumlah sampel yang diambil sebanyak 57 siswa dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu total sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji analisis statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebelum dilakukan penyuluhan kesehatan gigi tentang cara menyikat gigi yang baik debris indeks awal ialah kategori sedang dan setelah dilakukan penyuluhan kesehatan gigi tentang cara menyikat gigi yang baik debris indeks akhir ialah kategori baik . Hasil uji analisis statistik  ini menunjukan p=0,001. Hasil analisis ini menunjukan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara debris indeks sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan penyuluhan kesehatan gigi tentang cara menyikat gigi yang baik pada Murid TK Global Mandiri Regency.

Abstract

Background: Based on information from Basic Health Research in 2013, around 28.9% of children aged 5-9 years and 25.2% of children aged 10-14 years experienced dental and oral health problems. Especially in childhood, dental caries is a problem that must be avoided, especially when they attend elementary school. Therefore, it is important for us to provide knowledge about how important it is to maintain healthy teeth in children. It is hoped that the educational program can increase public awareness about the importance of maintaining dental and oral health and motivate them to actively maintain their own dental and oral health. Providing e-books about dental and oral health as a learning tool is one innovative way to change children's behavior in maintaining dental and oral health. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of dental health e-books on knowledge and debris index in elementary school students. Method: This research uses a quasi experimental research design. This research was conducted on class V students of SDN Krukut 03 Limo Depok. The number of samples used was 54 people using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by direct examination and filling out a questionnaire sheet. Data were analyzed using the paired sample t-test. Results: Of the 54 samples, the average debris index score before counseling was 1.59, medium criteria and after counseling the average debris index was 0.95, medium criteria with the results of paired sample t-test p <0.001. There is a difference in the average knowledge score, namely from the previous 75.85, sufficient criteria to 88.52, good criteria, with the results of paired sample t-test p <0.001. Conclusion: Dental and oral health e-books are effective in increasing knowledge and reducing debris index scores in elementary school students.

Abstract

Background: Dental and oral hygiene is one of the factors that trigger dental caries. Preventive efforts can be made to anticipate oral health problems, one of which is gargling. The chemical mouthwash ingredient that is often used is chlorhexidin, while if used for a long time it can cause side effects in the form of bacterial resistance and discomfort. Therefore, the need for natural ingredients to minimize side effects that can arise cheap, safe and effective natural ingredients for gargling, one of which is moringa leaves. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the debris index before and after gargling with moringa reduce water in TPQ Al-Barokah Bojonggede students in 2024. Methods: This research method is quasi experiment research.  This study was conducted with a sample of 30 students obtained using purposive sampling technique.  The instrument used was the debris index examination sheet. Results: The difference of the debris index score before and after gargling with moringa reduce water is 0.43. With an average debris index score before gargling is 1,56 and the average debris index score after gargling is 1,13. Conclusion: It can be concluded that after gargling with moringa reduce water can reduce the debris index score.

Abstract

Background: Elementary school children are aware of the learning and understanding process. Therefore, it is important to improve dental health knowledge. The use of appropriate media for promoting dental and oral health is very effective if it is adjusted to the age of fifth grade elementary school students. One of the educational media used is a maze game that is adapted to convey dental health information interactively. So that it can be used in promotional activities which are one of the UKGS programs to improve dental health knowledge. Objective: This study aims to analyze dental and oral health knowledge before and after the dental health labyrinth game education in elementary school students. Method: The research design used a quasi-experiment with a pretest and posttest design with one group design. Sampling in this study used a purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 62 respondents. The instrument used a questionnaire and Dental health labyrinth media. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results showed that dental health knowledge increased, from 32 students (51.6%) in the sufficient category to 62 students (100%) in the good category. The average increase in knowledge before and after education was 78.39 to 98.06 with statistical test results p = 0.000 (p <0.05). Conclusion: Dental health labyrinth game education is effective increasing dental health knowledge in elementary school students

Abstract

Background: Oral and dental health problems remain a significant issue in Indonesia, especially among adolescents. The low level of knowledge regarding oral hygiene practices is one of the main causes of the high prevalence of dental caries in individuals aged 15–18 years. Therefore, engaging and effective educational methods are needed to raise awareness and improve adolescents’ knowledge of oral health maintenance. Objective: This study aimed to effective the level of knowledge among adolescents before and after a health education intervention using the ClassDojo application. Method: This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 33 adolescents selected through total sampling. Data were collected using pretest and posttest questionnaires distributed online via the ClassDojo application. Results: The study showed an increase in knowledge, from 48.5% in the moderate category before the intervention to 93.9% in the good category after the intervention. Conclusion: Health education using the ClassDojo application is effective in improving adolescents’ knowledge of oral and dental health maintenance.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Pemberdayaan sumber daya manusia berbasis komunitas melalui kader kesehatan menjadi sebuah solusi yang sangat relevan dan potensial. Kader yang merupakan anggota masyarakat setempat, memiliki keunggulan dalam aspek kedekatan budaya, sosial, dan kemudahan akses. Posisi strategis mereka sebagai jembatan antara masyarakat dan sistem kesehatan telah terbukti efektif dalam berbagai program kesehatan sehingga peningkatan pengetahun kader pada bidang kesehatan gigi dan mulut perlu ditingkatkan. Metode: kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan edukasi kesehatan gigi dan mulur pada kader secara ceramah, demonstrasi dan simulasi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 24-25 Juni 2025 di wilayah Kelurahan Pondok Labu Kecamatan Cilandak Jakarta Selatan. Hasil: kegiatan menunjukan bahwa adanya meningkatkan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut kader dari 64,38 menjadi 79,38 dengan nilai signifikasni 0,000. Kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat dan terbukti dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan kader, harapannya kader dapat melakukn transfer of knowledge dan transfer of skills kepada masyarakat umum, sehingga akan berdampak pada peningkatan derajat kesehatan gigi dan mulut masyarakat. Kesimpulan: adanya peningkatan pengetahuan kader setelah diberikan intervensi pada kagiatan pengabdian kepada masyarat ini.
