Abstract

Gigi susu mudah terserang karies karena struktur giginya lebih tipis dan lebih kecil dibandingkan gigi permanen. Apabila gigi geraham susu tanggal sebelum waktunya akibat karies, kemungkinan pertumbuhan gigi permanen akan berjejal karena geraham berfungsi menahan ruangan bagian gigi tetap yang tumbuh. Maka perlu dilakukan langkah-langkah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan orang tua yang akan melakukan pendampingan dan bimbingan pada anak usia dini dalam melakukan pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Metode pelaksanaan program kemitraan kepada masyarakat melalui berbagai tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan koordinasi, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di 2 sekolah, yaitu KB TK Islam Ar-Rahman Islamic School dan TK Islam AL Khautsar. Waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat program kemitraan dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai dengan bulan September 2022, dengan sasaran berjumlah 130 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu media edukasi dan kuesioner. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan ini terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan orang tua dalam pendampingan menyikat gigi dan mencuci tangan sehingga dapat meningkatkan keterampilan anak dalam menyikat gigi dan mencuci tangan.

Abstract

Pandemi yang membawa dampak disegala aspek terutama pada aspek Pendidikan, menyebabkan kegiatan pembelajaran hanya monoton, sehingga kemampuan motorik halus anak tidak berkembang maksimal. Rumusan yang timbul dari permasalahan ini adalah bagaimana meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus anak melalui kegiatan menganyam berbasis alam. Tujuannya adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus anak melalui kegiatan menganyam berbasis alam pada kelompok B TK Tunas Harapan I Babulu, melalui metode menganyam. Kesimpulan dari observasi pada proses pelaksanaan praktek pembelajaran diketahui bahwa pada siklus 1 prosentasenya 58,3%, kemudian pada siklus 2 mengalami peningkatan menjadi 75%, dan pada siklus 3 mengalami peningkatan menjadi 90% terlihat dari 3 anak mendapat bintang 4 dan 2 anak mendapat 3 bintang. Kemampuan motorik halus anak dipelajari dan diperoleh secara alamiah namun perlu adanya stimulasi agar berkembang maksimal. Melalui kemampuan motorik halus anak dapat memperoleh pengalaman dan keterampilan dari lingkungan dimana anak berada.Kata kunci: motorik halus, usia dini, menganyam, berbasis alam

Abstract

Background: Dental and oral hygiene is one of the factors that trigger dental caries. Preventive efforts can be made to anticipate oral health problems, one of which is gargling. The chemical mouthwash ingredient that is often used is chlorhexidin, while if used for a long time it can cause side effects in the form of bacterial resistance and discomfort. Therefore, the need for natural ingredients to minimize side effects that can arise cheap, safe and effective natural ingredients for gargling, one of which is moringa leaves. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the debris index before and after gargling with moringa reduce water in TPQ Al-Barokah Bojonggede students in 2024. Methods: This research method is quasi experiment research.  This study was conducted with a sample of 30 students obtained using purposive sampling technique.  The instrument used was the debris index examination sheet. Results: The difference of the debris index score before and after gargling with moringa reduce water is 0.43. With an average debris index score before gargling is 1,56 and the average debris index score after gargling is 1,13. Conclusion: It can be concluded that after gargling with moringa reduce water can reduce the debris index score.

Abstract

Background: Dental and oral hygiene is a condition in which the oral cavity is free from dirt such as plaque and calculus. One simple way to reduce dental plaque is to regulate diet, especially by increasing consumption of fibrous foods such as vegetables and fruits, for example melon. Melon contains vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B6, vitamin C, and fiber. In every 100 grams of melon, there are 88.9 grams of water and 0.6 grams of fiber. Purpose: This study was to analyze the Plaque Index Before and After Consuming Melon Fruit in Hypertension Patients. Method: This study was a quasi-experimental study with with a pretest and posttest design with one group design. Sampling technique with purposive sampling, as many as 38 respondents. The study was conducted in the community of RW 14 Bukit Cimanggu City Housing, Bogor in 2024. The instrument used in this study was a plaque index examination sheet and data analysis using a paired sample test. Results: Before consuming melon, the results of the plaque index were good for 4 people (10.5%), moderate criteria for 22 people (57.9%), and poor criteria for 12 people (31.6%). After consuming melon, the results of the plaque index with the criteria of very good were 4 people (10.5%), good for 20 people (52.6%) and moderate for 14 people (36.8%). The results of the statistical test obtained p = 0.04. Conclusion: Consuming melon is effective in reducing the plaque index in hypertension patients

Abstract

Background: Saliva plays a crucial role in maintaining the pH balance of the mouth, preventing enamel demineralization and caries. While conventional mouthwashes are often used to stabilize pH, their chemical content can cause side effects such as irritation and dry mouth. Alternatively, fruits can be used to help maintain pH balance naturally. These fruits contain bioactive compounds with antioxidant and antimicrobial properties that support oral health. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of red grape infused water in stabilizing saliva pH. Methods: This study employed a pre-experimental design with a pretest-posttest one-group design. The research was conducted on students at SMP Pattimura Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. The sampling technique used proportional stratified sampling involving 60 students. The research instrument consisted of saliva pH measurement sheets and data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: gargling with red grape infused water was effective in stabilizing saliva pH in the oral cavity, with a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: gargling with red grape infused water is effective in stabilizing saliva pH in the oral cavity.

Abstract

Penyakit periodontal merupakan masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut dengan prevalensi cukup tinggi di Indonesia (60%). Diabetes melitus merupakan salah satu faktor predisposisi terjadinya penyakit periodontal. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis hubungan diabetes melitus terhadap tingkat keparahan jaringan periodontal. Jenis penelitian observasional analitik potong lintang. Penelitian dilakukan di Puskesmas Kecamatan Jagakarsa Jakarta Selatan pada bulan Oktober - November 2014 dengan populasi penelitian adalah pengunjung Puskesmas Kecamatan Jagakarsa. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling sebanyak 122 orang. Status diabetes melitus didapat dari rekam medis poli penyakit tidak menular. Analisis data menggunakan kai kuadrat dan regresi logistik sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proporsi penderita diabetes melitus usia > 50 tahun mengalami kerusakan jaringan periodontal yang lebih parah dibandingkan penderita diabetes melitus ≤ 50 tahun. Kelompok diabetes melitus berisiko 3,5 kali mengalami keparahan jaringan periodontal dibandingkan kelompok nondiabetes melitus, OR = 3,505 (1,609 – 7,634), nilai p = 0,002. Kelompok diabetes melitus tidak terkendali berisiko 2,5 kali mengalami keparahan jaringan periodontal dibandingkan kelompok diabetes melitus terkendali, nilai OR = 2,514 (0,892 – 7,085), nilai p = 0,12 disebabkan ukuran sampel terlalu kecil. Penderita diabetes melitus lebih berisiko mengalami keparahan jaringan periodontal dibandingkan dengan nondiabetes melitus. Pada diabetes melitus tidak terkendali, risiko penyakit periodontal semakin tinggi. Periodontal disease is a teeth and oral health problem, with a quite high prevalence in Indonesia (66%). Diabetes mellitus one of predisposing factors of periodontal occurence. This study aimed to analyze relation between diabetes mellitus and the severity of periodontal tissue. The study was observational analytic study with cross-sectional design. The study was conducted in Jagakarsa District Primary Health Care of South Jakarta on October to November 2014 with the primary health care visitors as population. Sample was taken using simple random sampling as much as 122 respondents. Diabetes mellitus status was identified from the non-infectious disease medical record. Data analysis used chi-square and simple logistic regression. Results showed proportion of diabetes mellitus patients > 50 years suffered periodontal tissue damage more severe than ≤ 50 years old patients. Diabetes mellitus group had 3.5 times risk of suffering severe periodontal tissue than nondiabetes mellitus group, OR = 3.505 (1.609 - 7.634), p value = 0.002. Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus group had 2.5 times risk of suffering severe periodontal tissue than controlled diabetes mellitus group, OR = 2.514 (0.892 - 7.085), p value = 0.12 due too small size of sample. Diabetes mellitus sample patients were more risky to suffer severe periodontal tissue than nondiabetes mellitus patients. On uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, the risk of periodontal disease was getting higher.
