Abstract

The development of technology is directly proportional to the progress of education. It requires students to continue to improve their learning capacity, including using technology to support learning. The ability of students to use digital platforms is one of the skills students must have to be able to face the new era of the 21st century. This research aims to analyze prospective teacher students' digital literacy and its effect on independent learning ability to face 21st-century skills. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational type. The population is 84 active students. Data collection was carried out by conducting surveys and distributing questionnaires. Instruments used in digital literacy questionnaires and self-directed learning. Data analysis technique using simple linear regression analysis. This study found that the correlation between the variables was positive but included in the low category. Conversely, the indicators for each variable have a good score or value with the ability to use digital technology of 76.12% and an evaluation of 62.97%. It is concluded that the higher a person's digital literacy, the higher the strength of a person's independent learning ability. Learning to do self-management is significantly related to information literacy skills, namely analyzing information. Differences in independence result in differences in the ability to absorb the material and use technology appropriately.

Abstract

Students' understanding of mathematical concepts still needs to improve. This problem will spread to other subjects because mathematics is necessary for solving various problems. This research aims to determine the product development process for realistic teaching materials for mathematics, algebra material, and measurement and the feasibility of product development according to expert assessments and responses from potential users. This research is an RND with a 4-D development model which includes Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The resulting product validator comprises three media, material, and discussion experts. Practitioner response testing was conducted on two 5th-grade teachers at Elementary School (SD) Muhammadiyah Sukonandi 2. The subjects for product testing were 5th-grade students at Elementary School (SD) Muhammadiyah Sukonandi 2. The instruments used in this research were questionnaires in the form of validation questionnaires, practitioner response questionnaires, and potential user responses. The assessment results from media experts scored 4.75 in the very good category, material experts scored 4.75 in the very good category, and language experts scored an average of 4.55 in the very good category. Practitioner response tests and user responses received very good responses.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for ongoing education, prompting the education sector to seek alternatives to solely online learning. One of the steps that this university has taken is to combine the benefits of face-to-face and online learning through the use of technology, which is called blended learning. This study aims to assess the extent of student motivation for learning in a mixed learning environment in the Citizenship Learning course within the Elementary School Teacher Education department at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta. This study employs a mixed method approach, with a sample size of 30 students as participants. Data for the study was acquired via observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The study results showed that the level of university student motivation towards Citizenship Learning through blended learning was 63.72% with a high category. This study showed that students’ learning motivation remains strong when using blended learning despite challenges like internet network reliability, device availability, and implementing appropriate learning methodologies.

Abstract

The adiwiyata program has been implemented in several elementary schools in Indonesia, but its implementation has yet to be integrated into learning. The objectives of this research are: 1) To find out the implementation of the Transformative Sustainable Education (TSE) approach in Natural and Social Science (NSS) learning; 2) To find out whether the implementation of the TSE approach is effective in improving students' environmental literacy. This TSE approach is implemented in natural and social sciences learning. This research used an experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study were 5th grade students of MIN 2 Bantul which consisted of class A and class B. The sample was selected by cluster random sampling and the students were selected. The sample was selected by cluster random sampling and class A of 29 was selected as the experimental class and class B of 28 as the control class. The instruments used in this study include observation sheets of learning implementation with the TSE approach and environmental literacy observation sheets. The results showed that: 1) The TSE approach was implemented with a percentage of 95% in the very good category; 2) The TSE approach was effective in improving environmental literacy in the medium category.

Abstract

This service is motivated by the widespread phenomenon that occurs today in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) environment with many young people who do not show akhlakul karimah behaviour. This can also be observed by the participation of the younger generation in Islamic organisations that do not reflect Islam according to the guidance of the Qur'an. Islamic schools should be the main platform for basic education in instilling praiseworthy traits and behaviours in students through their learning content or character education programmes. Aswaja-an in learning in MI occupies an important position in providing guidance on faith without overriding nationalism. The objectives of this service are 1) to assist the practice of living Qur'an in schools in the form of habituation of reading Asmaul Husna, and 2) to find out the impact of the implementation of living Quran practices on improving student character. This service uses the PAR type. The service was carried out at MI Ma'arif Sambeng at all grade levels. Living Quran activities are carried out every day before learning activities. The findings of this service are 1) Living Qur'an practices by integrating Aswaja learning as a character education programme at MI Ma'arif Sambeng include: Good habits, extracurricular activities and learning content 2) The impact of the implementation of living Quran practices is to instil students' akhlakul karimah character and increase their love for the country. The implementation of this living qur'an turned out to have an impact felt by MI Ma'arif Sambeng, including the implementation of strengthening character education in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

This study examines differences in students' understanding of basic social studies concepts in the Islamic Elementary Teacher Education Program (PGMI) according to learning motivation and learning styles. A 2×3 factorial quantitative design was employed, and data were analyzed using the Kruskal–Wallis nonparametric test followed by post hoc analysis. The results show that learning motivation does not significantly affect students’ understanding of social studies concepts (p = 0.921 > 0.05). In contrast, learning style has a significant effect (p = 0.037 < 0.05). Further post hoc analysis with a Bonferroni correction reveals a significant difference between the auditory (A2) and kinesthetic (A3) learning styles (p = 0.039 < 0.05). Descriptive findings indicate that students with a kinesthetic learning style achieved higher average scores (95.86) compared to those with an auditory style (89.92). This suggests that kinesthetic learners demonstrate better conceptual understanding. Overall, the findings confirm that motivation level does not differentiate students’ conceptual understanding, while learning styles—particularly kinesthetic—play a significant role. The study highlights the importance of considering diverse learning styles in instructional design to improve students’ conceptual mastery in social studies.
