Abstract

Learning motivation is important in the learning process, especially in a problem-based learning discussion or tutorials that require high learning motivation to achieve learning goals. Lerning motivation in a tutorial is influenced by a variety of factors both internal and external. Learning motivation of final year students decreased, especially during the tutorial process. This study uses a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. The main informants in this study were students from the class of 2015 as final year students. Data Collection through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), then the researchers also used in-depth interview techniques as data triangulation. Research data were analyzed by thematic analysis. The results of the study found various factors that influence the motivation of students learning at the final level of Faculty of medicine Lampung University in the tutorial process. We found five internal factors that increase student motivation in the tutorial process, i.e the level of intelligence, ideas, the desire to graduate immediately, the will of oneself, and the ability to communicate well. Then we found five internal factors that decrease student motivation in the tutorial process, i.e decreased health conditions, lazyness, bored, lacking self-readiness. For external factors we found five external factors that can increase or decrease student learning motivation in the tutorial process, i.e facilitators, learning materials, facilities and infrastructure, parental support and learning environtment. Then we found another one external factors that increase student motivation in the tutorial process, i.e scenarios. Then we found two external factors that reduce student motivation in the tutorial process i.e academic burden and the influence of friends.

Prostatitis occurs in men over 50 years of age and it is estimated that about 50% of men question prostatitis during their lifetime. Treatment for prostatitis depends on the cause. Antibiotics are effective treatments for acute bacterial prostatitis. Antibiotic treatment has several factors that must be used using traditional drugs that have smaller side effects compared to materials produced from chemicals, besides that the use of natural ingredients requires a cheaper cost. Green betel leaf (Piper betle L.) is able to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli, Streptococcus viridans, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio cholera and Shigella dysenteriae.

Abstract

Hypertension is defined as systolic blood pressure> 140 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure> 90 mm Hg. Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome, which is influenced by aging, but hypertension is a preventable disease. One of the preventions of hypertension is lifestyle modification such as physical activity, diet, and emotional management. In another study also mentioned that the combination of physical activity and meditation has the same effectiveness in reducing and preventing increased blood pressure compared to only low-salt food diets. Salat is a kind of meditation that involves physical movements consisting of standing, bowing, prostration, and sitting. During salat, parasympathetic activity is increased which is marked by a decrease in heart rate, especially when the prostration position (69 bpm) and a decreased of systolic blood pressure by 2.5% and diastolic by 2.8%. It shows that salat has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system. Another study showed that salat also effects on musculoskeletal so salat can be used as physical therapy in geriatric rehabilitation. Study about the benefit of salat in the cardiovascular system is still limited, so further research is needed to prove the effectiveness of the use of salat as an alternative method in reducing the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia.

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is one of the bacteria that is pathogenic to humans and is most often transmitted from hand to hand. Moringa leaf gel as an alternative as an antibacterial. The purpose of this research is to determine the antibacterial activity of Moringa oleifera leaf extract in gel formulation against Staphylococcus aureus. This type of research is an experimental laboratory with the method of sump on Mueller Hinton Agar media. Moringa oleifera leaf extract was obtained from the Organic Chemistry Laboratory of the University of Lampung with maceration techniques using 96% ethanol. Gel formulations were made at Cendikia Farma Husada Pharmacy Vocational School Bandar Lampung. Moringa oleifera leaf extract is divided into several concentrations namely 5%, 10%, 20%, 40% and 80%. As a negative control, distilled water gel and positive control were erythromycin (Erymed®) gel. The data obtained is based on the results of the measurement of the inhibition zone formed around the sump and measured by the calipers. Data were tested by One Way ANOVA. The results of this study indicate that the diameter of the inhibitory zone formed in the Moringa oleifera leaf extract in gel formulation in concentration of 5%, 10%, 20%, 40% and 80%. Sequentially, namely 5.85 mm, 10.00 mm, 11.00 mm, 15.40 mm and 21.05 mm. In the negative control group it was 0 mm and positive control was 32.20 mm (p value = 0,000). There is an antibacterial activity of Moringa oleifera extract in gel formulation against Staphylococcus aureus.
