Abstract

dikembangkan melalui pendekatan hewan model untuk mempelajari tentang PJK. Minyak goreng yang digunakan secara berulang dapat meningkatkan kadar asam lemak bebas yang berdampak negatif bagi kesehatan terutama jantung dan pembuluh. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mengukur indeks aterogenik plasma (IAP) dan indeks Castelli (IC) dari mencit model yang diinduksi minyak trans (MT). Sebanyak 16 ekor mencit galur DDY dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok yaitu mencit yang diinduksi 20% minyak trans (MT20), 40% minyak trans (MT40) dan 60% minyak trans (MT60) dan kontrol (K). Persentase minyak trans diberikan berdasarkan dari total energi konsumsi pakan harian. Minyak trans diberikan per oral sehari sekali selama 70 hari. Darah diambil pada hari ke-70 dari vena lateral ekor tikus untuk mengukur profil lipid plasma yaitu kolesterol total, trigliserida (TG), High Density Lippoprotein (HDL) dan Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) plasma  menggunakan alat uji cepat Lipid Pro®. Nilai Indeks Aterogenik Plasma (IAP) yaitu log (TG/HDL) dan Indeks Castelli (IC) yaitu LDL/HDL. Hasil pengkuran profil lipid plasma menunjukkan kolesterol total, trigliserida, HDL dan LDL plasma pada kelompok MT meningkat secara nyata dibandingkan kontrol (sig<0,05). Nilai IA pada mencit yang diberi minyak trans berbeda nyata dari kontrol (sig<0,05) dan memiliki risiko tinggi. Nilai IC pada mencit yang diberi minyak trans berbeda nyata dari kontrol (sig<0,05) dan memiliki risiko sedang-tinggi. Minyak trans meningkatkan nilai indeks aterosklerosis dan indeks resiko koroner mencit.Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is a "silent killer" disease. Various studies were developed through an animal model approach to studying CHD. Cooking oil that is used repeatedly can increase levels of free fatty acids which have a negative impact on health, especially the heart and vessels. The aim of this study was to measure the plasma atherogenic index (IAP) and Castelli index (IC) of trans oil-induced model mice (MT). A total of 16 DDY mice were divided into 4 groups, namely mice induced with 20% trans oil (MT20), 40% trans oil (MT40) and 60% trans oil (MT60) and control (K). The percentage of trans oil is given based on the total energy consumption of the daily feed. Trans oil is given orally once a day for 70 days. Blood was taken on the 70th day from the lateral vein of the rat tail to measure the plasma lipid profile, namely total cholesterol, triglycerides (TG), High Density Lippoprotein (HDL) and plasma Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) using the Lipid Pro® rapid test kit. The Plasma Atherogenic Index (IAP) values are log (TG / HDL) and the Castelli Index (IC) is LDL / HDL. The results of measuring the plasma lipid profile showed that plasma total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL in the MT group increased significantly compared to the control (sig<0,05). The IA value in mice treated with trans oil was significantly different from the control (sig<0.05) and had a high risk. The IC value in mice treated with trans oil was significantly different from the control (sig<0.05) and had a medium-high risk. Trans oil increased the atherosclerosis index and coronary risk index of mice.

Abstract

Susu sinbiotik merupakan susu fermentasi probiotik yang dikombinasikan dengan prebiotik. Minyak trans merupakan minyak/lemak dengan struktur trans. Minyak trans yang dikonsumsi secara berlebih dan terus menerus dapat berdampak pada sistem pencernaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh susu sinbiotik (SS) mengandung tepung pisang tanduk (TP) terhadap struktur mukosa duodenum mencit yang diinduksi minyak trans (MT). Sebanyak 30 ekor mencit jantan strain DDY usia 2 bulan dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu MT; MT+simvastatin dosis 0,4 mg/20grBB; MT+SS; MT+SS(1%TP); MT+SS(3%TP); dan MT+SS(5%TP). Minyak trans dosis 200mg/20grBB diberikan pada hari 1-14. Susu sinbiotik dosis 200mg/20grBB diberikan pada hari 15-28. Hari ke-29 semua mencit diterminasi secara dekapitasi servikal dan organ duodenum diambil untuk dibuat preparat histologis. Morfologi mukosa duodenum dianalisis secara deskriptif. Secara morfologi duodenum ditemukan erosi vili dan deskuamasi epitel mukosa. Tingkat erosi dan deskuamasi epitel mukosa duodenum dari tinggi-rendah berturut-turut yaitu kelompok MT, MT+Simvastatin dan MT+SS. Semakin tinggi persentase tepung pisang semakin menurunkan tingkat erosi vili dan deskuamasi epitel mukosa duodenum. Pada kelompok susu sinbiotik dengan 5% tepung pisang tidak ditemukan erosi vili dan deskuamasi epitel duodenum. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa susu sinbiotik memperbaiki morfologi mukosa duodenum dari erosi vili dan deskuamasi epitel yang diakibatkan oleh minyak trans.

Abstract

Malaysia merupakan peringkat pertama negara penerima ekspor kakao terbanyak dari Indonesia dengan volume mencapai 55,91 ribu ton atau sekitar 14% dari keseluruhan volume ekspor. Pemanfaatan limbah kulit biji kakao saat ini belum maksimal karena dinilai kurang ekonomis. Potensi dari pemanfaatan limbah kulit biji kakao yaitu dapat dijadikan sebagai usaha rumah tangga dengan nilai jual yang cukup tinggi dan keuntungan yang baik. Tujuan pengabdian pada masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah (1) memberikan wawasan kepada Single Mother Community di Pusat Komuniti Desa (PKD) Pekan Nanas, Pontian mengenai pengolahan limbah kulit biji kakao menjadi olahan pangan; (2) memberikan pelatihan kepada Single Mother Community di Pusat Komuniti Desa (PKD) Pekan Nanas, Pontian dalam membuat cookies kulit biji kakao. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan adalah metode pendekatan dan demonstrasi dengan pendampingan praktik. Kegiatan pelatihan diakhiri dengan pengisian kuesioner uji hedonik untuk menilai kualitas produk yang telah dibuat. Hasil PKM yang dicapai adalah peningkatan dalam aspek (1) Wawasan Single Mother Community dalam pengolahan cookies kulit biji kakao dengan teknik pemanggangan meningkat, menunjukkan rata-rata score gain 0,5 dengan peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 45% dari rata-rata nilai pre-test sebesar 47,1 dan post-test sebesar 70,8 dengan kategori “sedang” (2) Produk cookies kulit biji kakao disukai oleh peserta dengan skor penilaian pada aspek warna 4,7; aroma 4,6; rasa 4,4; dan tekstur 4,5.

Abstract

Infections of endoparasites in primates in natural habitats are highly prevalent and can cause disease, reduce health quality, and disrupt their life. This study investigated endoparasites prevalence value in the endangered Javan gibbon (Hylobates moloch) in Citalahab Forest, Gunung Halimun Salak National Park, Indonesia, from June to August 2022 by collected fecal samples (N = 10) and analyzed it using floatation methods. As a result, we found five genera of nematodes Trichuris trichiura (10% egg worm prevalence, Oesophagostomum spp. (50%), Trichostrongylus spp. (60%), Ancylostoma spp. (80%), and Strongyloides spp. (100%). The prevalence value of the worms in the larvae stage of Trichostrongylus spp. 20% and Strongyloides spp. 70%. Nematode infection status successively is Strongyloides spp., which is, frequently; Trichostrongylus spp. and Ancylostoma spp., which is, often; Oesophagostomum spp. and Trichuris trichiura which is, occasionally. Four species of nematode were found in both ages, and only Trichuris trichiura was found in one adolescent individual. The threat posed by this parasite deserves attention; further research is needed to fill the gap in our knowledge of their pathogenicity and transmission in Javan gibbon.

Abstract

Abstract The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of Avian Flu Vaccine Subtype H5N1 on native chicken. There were several inclusion criteria to selected the chicks. The criteria were just native chicken in Legok, at least 8 weeks old and never been had previous vaccine program. Total of 20 chickens were used as samples. All chicken was split in two cages, cage A contained 10 chickens were treated with vaccine and cage B contained 10 chickens as a control. Then 0.5 mL of vaccine administered intramuscularly in the chicken breast. The effectiveness of vaccination determined by measuring antibody titers before and 3 weeks after vaccination program. Measurement of antibody titers obtained by HI (Hemagglutination Inhibition) test method. Result showed that antibody titers of native chicken increased after vaccination program. There were 70% of samples that have been vaccinated could be protected against the virus. Three chickens as a control had positive titers prior to vaccination with a range of 21 - 22. Abstract

ABSTRACT Excessive energi consumption of high-fat diet increase the body’s adipose tissue which also affect the increased secretion of leptin, this is because leptin secretion is proportional to the mass of adipose tissue. Leptin activates the lateral hypothalamus as the center of hunger and feeding activity. The aim of this study was to obtain the relationship between high trans fat feeding on male Wistar rats and feeding activity. This method uses male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) as an animal model. Sixteen rats were grouped into 4 treatment groups. The first group was given additional feed 20% trans fat, the second group was given additional feed 40% trans fat, a third group was given additional feed 60% trans fat, and the last as a control group. This feed was given once a day for 70 days. Observation of activities perform using Opto-varimex® auto-track system ver. 4.31. The results showed an corellation between activity based doses of trans fat. Keywords: Opto-varimex®, Trans fat, Activity, Wistar rat.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Trans fatty acids (TFAs) are the entire unsaturated fatty acids containing one or more double bonds isolated in trans configuration believed as predisposing factor of oxidative stress, excluding conjugated double bond fatty acids. Malondialdehyde (MDA) is a product of lipid peroxidation used as oxidative stress marker. The objective of this study was to see the correlation between TFAs containing-oil (consists of 3-6% TFAs) intake at various administration doses and pancreatic MDA levels in Wistar rats. Twelve rats were grouped according to administration doses (20%, 40%, 60% of given feed total energy and control group). TFAs containing-oil was administered orally once a day for 70 days at given doses by force feeding. Pancreatic MDA were measured using TBARS assay adapted from Singh et al. (2006). Increase of TFAs containing-oil administration dose caused insignificant increase of pancreatic MDA level. Keywords: trans fatty acids, oxidative stress, malondialdehyde, Wistar rats, palm oil

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the correlation between sucrose intake at various administration doses to SGPT and SGOT level in Wistar rats. SGPT and SGOT level in blood serum were used as parameter of liver function. Twelve rats were grouped according to administration doses (20%, 40%, 60% of given feed total energy and control group). Sucrose was administered orally once a day for 70 days at given doses by force feeding. SGPT dan SGOT level were measured using SGPT and SGOT Test Kit and read using spectrophotometer. The result indicated that increased administration dose caused a significant increase of SGPT and SGOT level.

Abstract

Excessive energi consumption play a role in increasing blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia), due to the inability of the hormone insulin to compensate the high blood glucose levels. Blood glucose receptor found in the hypothalamus of VMH (Ventro Medial Hypothalamus) and LH (the Lateral Hypothalamus) is able to detect and change the settings for the feeding activity. The aim of this study was to obtain the relationship between high sucrose feeding on male Wistar rats of behavior and activity. This method uses Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) as an animal model. Sixteen rats were grouped into 4 treatment groups. The first group was given additional feed 20% sucrose, the second group was given additional feed 40% sucrose, a third group was given additional feed 60% sucrose, and the last as a control group. This feed given continuously for 70 days.Observation of activities conducted using Opto-varimex® auto-track system ver.4.31. The results showed an corellation between activity based doses of sucrose.

Abstract

Monyet hitam sulawesi merupakan primata endemik yang hampir punah. Konservasi ex situ monyet hitam sulawesi harus memperhatikan segala aspek yang berhubungan dengan kehidupan hewan tersebut, termasuk aspek perilaku dan kesajahteraan hewan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku harian monyet hitam sulawesi berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan umur, serta tingkat kesejahteraannya di Pusat Primata Schmutzer (PPS). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan teknik observasi. Analisis data perilaku harian monyet hitam sulawesi berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan umur dilakukan dengan uji Mann- Whitney, sedangkan analisis data tingkat kesejahteraan hewan dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan perilaku harian monyet hitam sulawesi berdasarkan jenis kelamin, yaitu pada perilaku bergerak, mencari makan, istirahat, dan sosial. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukan terdapat perbedaan perilaku harian monyet hitam sulawesi berdasarkan umur, yaitu pada perilaku bergerak, istirahat, dan sosial. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, tingkat kesejahteraan monyet hitam sulawesi di PPS termasuk dalam kriteria baik.
