Abstract

Doctoral candidates carry out duties as an integral part of the three pillars of higher education, which in its implementation cannot be separated from the other two pillars and involves the entire academic community: lecturers, students, education staff, and alums. This community service program aims to improve the quality of education in publishing articles among students of the Bululawang Malang, East Java, Yellow Book College (STIKK). The method of community service uses Participation Action Research (PAR), which is carried out using surveys, observations, practices, and counseling. The results of this service show that through the dedication of doctoral candidates, students are present in Indonesian society by carrying out student duties that not only carry out education, but also carry out research, and develop innovation, preservation, and development of superior science that is beneficial to society. Through strategies to increase the spirit of writing, including seeking inspiration from reading, reading books, articles, or literary works can be a rich source of inspiration, so that students will have many scientific works.

Abstract

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Moral, Kebebasan Beragama, Kesalahan Pengajaran Freedom of religion and belief (KKB) has been widely abused by irresponsible individuals, this can be seen from various cases of blasphemy committed by influencers to students. This is a problem that education has not been able to form good character. So far, teaching has only been a formality between teachers and their students, the goals and importance of the learning delivered are not well understood, causing the world of education to decline, especially morality for its students. This study aims to find the problem point in the scope of education, especially the Islamic religious curriculum which should be able to be a foundation so that religion is not insulted. Therefore, researchers are interested in studying the problems that occur in more depth. By using the analytical description method. Researchers obtained significant results that the blasphemy that occurred was partly caused by the world of education, especially the Islamic Religious Education Curriculum, which was not oriented towards the goals of education and was not oriented towards scientific disciplines and students. Abstract

Tropical peatlands are among the most fire-prone ecosystems in Southeast Asia, where recurrent burning causes long-term degradation, carbon loss, and biodiversity decline. Assessing spatio-temporal patterns of recovery is therefore essential for guiding effective peatland restoration and fire prevention strategies. This study investigated vegetation recovery dynamics in a fire-affected peatland in Sumatra, Indonesia. Multi-temporal satellite imagery was processed to extract the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) and Normalized Burn Ratio (NBR). Fire frequency and severity were further analyzed through hotspot distributions and fire history. The results revealed that NBR and dNBR were highly effective in detecting burned areas and assessing severity, while EVI provided complementary perspectives on recovery trajectories. Vegetation in once-burned areas showed relatively steady regrowth, with EVI values approaching pre-fire levels after several years. In contrast, repeatedly burned areas exhibited slower and more heterogeneous recovery, with fluctuating EVI pattern reflecting vegetation growth succession. Field vegetation surveys confirmed that repeated fires drastically simplified forest structure, reducing tree and pole density and favoring shrubs and ferns such as Stenochlaena palustris and Melastoma malabathricum. Overall, the study demonstrates that fire frequency and severity are critical determinants of peatland recovery. The EVI offers valuable insights into vegetation dynamics, while NBR provides reliable fire history mapping. These findings underscore the importance of combining spectral indicators with ground-based vegetation data for long-term monitoring and highlight the need for targeted restoration strategies, including hydrological rewetting and assisted natural regeneration, in repeatedly burned peatlands.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the English pronunciation skills of students at Anharul Ulum Islamic Junior High School, Blitar Regency, particularly in a pesantren-based educational context. Prior to the program, by conducting a pre-test, the students demonstrated moderate to low pronunciation proficiency, characterized by limited accuracy in segmental and suprasegmental features, low fluency, and a lack of confidence in oral production. To address these issues, the program was implemented through three stages: introduction, implementation, and evaluation. During the implementation stage, Interactive Whispering Games were employed as a game-based learning strategy to promote active participation, collaborative learning, and reduced speaking anxiety. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated through pre-test and post-test assessments involving 53 students, complemented by observation and reflective feedback from students and teachers. The results revealed improvements across all assessed pronunciation aspects, with the highest increase observed in fluency, indicating enhanced spontaneity and confidence in oral production. Qualitative findings further showed increased student engagement, motivation, and positive attitudes toward pronunciation practice. Overall, the program demonstrates that Interactive Whispering Games are an effective, low-technology, and contextually appropriate approach for enhancing pronunciation skills in pesantren-based junior high schools and offer a practical model for similar community service initiatives. Overall, the program highlights the effectiveness of game-based learning strategies for supporting pronunciation development in a pesantren-based junior high school environment and offers a practical model for similar community service initiatives.
