Abstract

The forest has a function as a place for various animals in it, such as the Sumatran Elephant (Elephas maximus sumatranus. Temminck). The condition of elephant habitat is decreasing in Sumatra, especially in South Sumatra Province. The decline in the quality of elephant habitat in South Sumatra Province has resulted in an increasingly narrow shortage, one of the conservation areas for elephant habitat protection, namely the Gunung Raya Wildlife Reserve. The research method uses a quantitative descriptive approach. Descriptive research is conducted to describe a symptom or event that occurs factually, systematically and accurately. The sampling method uses the Simple Random Sampling Technique, namely the sampling technique from the population is carried out randomly without regard to the strata in that population. Methods of data management using quantitative descriptive analysis using Likert Scale analysis. The results showed that the assessment of community understanding was 86.20%, this indicated that the people of Sidodadi Village and Durian Sembilan Village knew about the existence of Gunung Raya Wildlife Sanctuary, while the level of public attention to environmental and forestry issues was 65.51% of the people did not know or lacked attention to environmental problems, and Agencies responsible for solving environmental and forestry problems amounting to 68.98%, this is based on community statements that the village head is responsible for solving environmental and forestry problems.

Based on economic aspects, implementing an agroforestry system combines several types of plants on one land, this can increase crop productivity. so that the total income after harvest will be abundant. This research aims to identify the agroforestry planting patterns implemented and analyze farmers' income in Tanjung Beringin Village, Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This research was carried out in Tanjung Beringin Village, Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. Abstract

Birds need habitat conditions that are suitable and safe from all kinds of disturbances, which can be an important factor in the presence of birds in a place. The aim of this research is to analyze the diversity of bird species and the factors that influence the existence of bird species in the Sriwijaya Royal Archaeological Park, Palembang. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive data taken using the "point count" or IPA (Index Point of Abundance) method, namely by recording the number of bird populations and then processing the data to determine the species richness index, species diversity index and species evenness index. The research results obtained by the richness of bird species in the Sriwijaya Royal Archaeological Park include high criteria. This is shown by the results of calculating the bird richness index which obtained an average value of R index > 5.0, which is included in the high criteria and the species evenness index in each transect is low. , because it is less than <0.3. The diversity of bird species in the Sriwijaya Royal Archaeological Park is relatively low. This is caused by trees that grow less densely, making the availability of food for birds insufficient. Apart from that, the factors that influence this are the distribution of species, dominance, limiting factors, competition, and the presence of predators and a supportive environment so that some species can spread in the area. The factor that influences bird species in the Sriwijaya Royal Archaeological Park, Palembang City, is land cover.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effects of pond planting sites and riparian area planting sites on the growth and development of Bruguiera gymnorrhiza seedlings, as well as to evaluate the survival and growth performance of seedlings originating from propagules compared to those naturally collected from the wild. A quantitative experimental method was employed in this research. The research data were analyzed using ANOVA. The findings indicate that the growth performance of Bruguiera gymnorrhiza seedlings in pond planting sites was superior to that in riparian planting sites with respect to plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, and root length. Furthermore, seedlings derived from propagules demonstrated better growth outcomes compared to those collected from the wild, particularly in terms of plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root development, and survival rate.
