Abstract

Islamic microfinance institutions operate in an increasingly challenging environment characterized by competition, digitalization, and limited internal resources, making employee retention a strategic concern for organizational sustainability. This study examines the effects of employee well-being and digital social capital on employee retention, with resilience serving as a mediating variable, among employees of Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) in the former Banyumas Residency. The research framework integrates Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) Theory and Conservation of Resources (COR) Theory to explain the relationships among job resources, personal resources, and retention decisions. A quantitative survey was conducted involving 190 BMT employees with a minimum tenure of one year. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS). The findings reveal that employee well-being and digital social capital positively and significantly influence both employee retention and resilience. However, resilience was found to have a negative effect on employee retention. Furthermore, resilience mediates the relationships between employee well-being and retention, as well as between digital social capital and retention. These results suggest that in Islamic microfinance institutions characterized by high work demands and limited career development opportunities, highly resilient employees may be more prepared to pursue career mobility. The study highlights the importance of balancing the development of individual resources with adequate organizational support to enhance employee retention and ensure long-term organizational sustainability

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the effect of credit risk, liquidity risk, Good Corporate Governance (GCG), earnings, and capital on dividend policy, proxied by the Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR), among banking firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period. The study is motivated by inconsistent empirical findings on the determinants of dividend policy, particularly in the banking sector, which operates under strict regulatory frameworks and has financial structures that differ from those of other industries. This study aims to analyze the effect of each determinant on dividend policy and identify the dominant factor influencing DPR. A quantitative approach was employed using panel data regression analysis. The sample consisted of banking firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the study period. The analysis applied the Common Effect Model, Fixed Effect Model, and Random Effect Model, with model selection determined through the Chow and Hausman tests. Classical assumption testing and statistical significance testing were also conducted to ensure model validity and robustness. The findings show that, partially, only the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) has a positive and statistically significant effect on DPR. In contrast, Non-Performing Loan (NPL), GCG, Return on Assets (ROA), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) do not have statistically significant effects on dividend policy. However, the simultaneous test indicates that all independent variables jointly have a significant effect on DPR. These findings suggest that dividend policy in the banking sector is primarily driven by intermediation efficiency and liquidity management rather than by risk exposure, governance mechanisms, profitability, or capital adequacy. This study concludes that liquidity is the key determinant of dividend policy in Indonesian banking firms. The study contributes to the literature on dividend policy determinants in regulated financial institutions and provides practical implications for bank management and investors by emphasizing liquidity indicators as critical considerations in dividend policy formulation and investment decision-making.

Abstract

Sharia stock mutual funds are increasingly important investment instruments, but their performance remains sensitive to macroeconomic conditions. This study aims to test and analyze how macroeconomic variables, namely the BI rate, inflation, and exchange rate, influence the performance of Sharia stock mutual funds registered with the Financial Services Authority from 2016 to 2023. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with 13 mutual funds as research samples. This quantitative panel-data study applied panel data regression, and the Random Effect Model was selected as the best model. The results show that the BI rate has a negative and significant effect on net asset value (NAV) (b = -2.352; p = 0.0005), while inflation has a positive and significant effect on NAV (b = 1.147; p = 0.0054). Meanwhile, the exchange rate has no significant effect on NAV (b = 0.769; p = 0.8113). These findings suggest that investors should consider interest-rate and inflation movements when making investment decisions in Sharia stock mutual funds, while future research may include internal fund characteristics, broader economic indicators, and taxation variables.
