Abstract

Teachers are guided by the curriculum in carrying out their duties in the field of education. In Indonesia, the current curriculum is the Merdeka curriculum. However, there is no standard format in the independent curriculum. This of course challenges teachers who are still experiencing the transition process from the K-13 curriculum to the Merdeka curriculum, especially Pattimura Jagakarsa Junior High School. For this reason, teachers need to improve their competence so that they can adapt to the dynamics of the world of education. The purpose of this service activity is to improve teacher competence so that learning activities can run effectively. This competency improvement was carried out through a two-day workshop with speakers from UNJ academics. The methods used are lectures, self-study, discussions, simulations, and questions and answers. The result is that 45% of teachers understand the planning and implementation of learning in the Merdeka curriculum, 32% of teachers understand enough, 23% of teachers still really need assistance. The trainees (teachers) are also able to make creative, interesting and innovative electronic modules. This indicates that the competence of the teachers has increased and they are ready to implement the Free Learning curriculum at Pattimura High School Jagakarsa.

Abstract

In long-term planning, the central area of Semarang City is intended to serve as a centre for government, business development, and trade. As a result, more and more settlements are being evicted or marginalized. The manufacturing industry was relocated for business expansion, so it needed new land both to develop activities and provide supporting facilities. These two sectors eventually shifted to the city's outskirts, causing spatial transformation in suburban areas. This research was conducted as social research with an environmental history approach. The problem that arises is how suburban areas should move due to changes in land use and significant increases in land values. This study applies qualitative research methods with a historical approach to look at phenomena that occur in the suburbs of Semarang. The research results show that, in the 21st century, rice fields and swamps in the eastern region of Semarang City have been converted into industrial areas. This area connects Semarang City with cities in the eastern region of Java Island. Meanwhile, the western part of the city of Semarang, with its flat topography and close to the coast, has become an industrial area and is also being built for residential purposes. Both are close to Tanjung Emas Harbor. Increasingly intensive changes in land use have caused land prices to increase significantly yearly.

Abstract

In this digital era, many historical narratives are vulnerable to misinformation and biased interpretations that circulate freely on social media and online platforms. This requires students to develop critical thinking skills that can be improved through history learning. This study aims to develop teaching materials based on conceptual achievement and creative problem-solving models to improve students' critical thinking skills in history learning. The method used in this study is R&D with the ADDIE model. In the analysis stage, the process involves identifying core problems and understanding students' needs. The design stage focuses on planning teaching materials. The actual instructional product is created during the development stage, including content, media, and student activities. The implementation stage involves testing the developed teaching materials in a real classroom environment (conducted on 32 grade XI students of SMA Labschool Jakarta). Finally, the evaluation stage assesses the effectiveness of the teaching materials in meeting the intended learning objectives. The study's results showed that the developed teaching materials effectively improved students' critical thinking skills, as evidenced by a significant increase in pretest and posttest scores (p-value < 0.05). Further effectiveness was measured using N-gain analysis, which indicated effectiveness in the moderate category, with a 32% increase. Expert validation from content and media specialists also confirmed a very high level of feasibility (> 80%). Thus, teaching materials focusing on conceptual achievement and creative problem-solving can be an alternative to traditional history learning, encouraging students to think critically and gain a deeper understanding of history.
