Abstract

The Japeledok Village Tobacco Farmers Group was recently established with a simple organizational structure due to a lack of insight into institutional organization. This becomes an obstacle in the continuity of the organization in the Farmer Group. One of the programs that is a priority for the Farmer Group is the use of Farmer Group land by cultivating tobacco in order to increase income. The obstacle faced by most Farmer Group members is that the tobacco they cultivate cannot grow optimally. The solution offered is to improve the skills of Farmer Group members in crop production on land and provide assistance regarding the institutional design of an organization to strengthen the knowledge and insight of Farmer Group members in running the organization. The implementation method is through training, mentoring and practice for Farmer Group members. Training and assistance in tobacco production. Training and assistance in managing organizations as well as understanding the basics of organizational institutional design. The results obtained from training on tobacco cultivation techniques for Farmer Group members are an increase in the knowledge and skills of Farmer Group members in tobacco plant production. Most of the harvest is sold within the Farmer Group members, so that the turnaround of small-scale businesses has been successfully implemented. The result of training and assistance in organizational governance is that the administrators and members of the Farmer Group are able to prepare basic budgets/household budgets. Increasing the active role of Farmer Group members in organizations is important for the sustainability of the existence of an organization.

Abstract

The study's objectives are to assess other important factors that influence export promotion and explore the impact of exchange rates on export performance. To accomplish the research goals, the study uses both the theories of foreign exchange and international trade. Data from the CBN Bulletin from 2010 to 2021 were used in the analysis. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the study. The results show that the link between the exchange rate, FDI, and export value in Nigeria is both positive and insignificant. The outcome further demonstrates that FDI and export value in Nigeria have a favorable and significant relationship. This suggests that export encouragement increases with FDI levels. The findings indicate that Nigeria's export performance is negatively and insignificantly correlated with inflation. More specific policies should be implemented by the government to support export promotion in Nigeria.

Abstract

This paper investigates the complex relationship between inflation, business cycles, and economic growth, focusing on both theoretical and empirical perspectives. The primary aim is to under-stand how inflation impacts key economic variables such as investment, consumption, employ-ment, and productivity and to identify effective policy responses. Specifically, the study’s objec-tives are to examine the mechanisms through which inflation affects the business cycle, quantify its impact on long-term economic growth, and evaluate policy strategies for managing inflation’s adverse effects. Methodologically, we employ panel data analysis using econometric models across a sample of countries from 1990 to 2021. This approach allows for cross-country compari-sons and controls for country-specific factors, providing robust estimates of inflation’s impact on GDP growth, unemployment, and investment. The findings indicate a statistically significant negative relationship between high inflation and GDP growth, especially when inflation rates exceed 10%. Additionally, inflation is shown to reduce investment levels and increase unemployment, aligning with Phillips curve implications in the short term and supporting inflation neutrality in the long run as expectations adjust. Theoretically, this study contributes to existing literature by confirming the threshold effect of inflation on growth, where moderate inflation may coexist with growth but high inflation disrupts economic stability. Methodologically, the use of panel regression models highlights the efficacy of country-level fixed effects in capturing infla-tion’s diverse impacts across different economic contexts. Practically, the research underscores the importance of inflation-targeting frameworks, counter-cyclical fiscal policies, and structural reforms to enhance resilience and support sustained economic growth. These insights offer val-uable guidance for policymakers seeking to balance inflation control with economic stability.

Abstract

Over the past two decades, global income inequality has tended to increase, particularly in developing countries within the ASEAN region. Global, regional, and national efforts to narrow income inequality have been ongoing, as have research endeavours. The correlation between educational expansion and income inequality remains debatable. This research aimed to re-investigate the impact of educational expansion on income inequality across ASEAN countries. The researcher utilized panel data from 11 ASEAN member states for the period 2010 to 2021. Using Panel Fully Modified Least Square (FMOLS) analysis, the research finds that educational expansion, proxied by average years of schooling, significantly contributes to reducing income inequality in the long run. Additionally, the gross enrollment rates in secondary and higher education were found to have a strong effect on narrowing income inequality among the populations of ASEAN countries in the long term, in contrast to the impact of gross enrollment rates in primary education. These findings further reinforce the theory and previous research that education is a key factor in reducing income inequality. Therefore, governments in each country should focus on accelerating the expansion and development of secondary and higher education.
