Abstract

Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation is one of the fisheries sub-sectors that has high economic value and is important in supporting the economy, among various cultivation systems, traditional ponds are still the choice for most farmers, especially those who have limited capital and supporting technology. This study aims to analyze the weight growth and absolute weight growth rate of vannamei shrimp cultivated in traditional ponds, this study was carried out for 35 days, the variables of this study include the absolute weight and absolute length of the cultivated shrimp. This study shows that shrimp in pond A have better growth than pond B, where the absolute weight is 15.92 grams while in pond B it is 7.56 grams. Analysis of the absolute length growth of vannamei also shows better in pond A with a value of 5.73 cm while in pond B it is 2.90 cm. Density and water quality are the causes of slow growth, on the other hand, land area, optimal density is more profitable for shrimp in obtaining natural food.

Abstract

Pembekalan keterampilan vokasional bagi warga binaan pemasyarakatan merupakan langkah strategis untuk mempersiapkan mereka agar mampu hidup mandiri dan produktif pasca-bebas. Salah satu bidang kemandirian yang propektif dikembangkan adalah budidaya ikan lele karena memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi serta pengelolaan yang terukur. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas teknis dan kemandirian warga binaan di Rumah Tahanan (Rutan) Kelas IIB Cerme Gresik melalui pelatihan budidaya ikan lele secara terpadu. Program dilaksanakan selama dua bulan dengan frekuensi pendampingan mingguan. Metode pelaksanaan mengombinasikan penyampaian materi pengantar teoretis yang dilanjutkan dengan praktik langsung, mencakup pengolahan air media budidaya, pembuatan dan aplikasi probiotik, seleksi benih unggul, teknik penebaran, manajemen pakan, hingga tahapan pembesaran. Melalui pendekatan simulasi dan pendampingan lapangan secara simultan, warga binaan terlibat aktif dalam seluruh siklus pemeliharaan hingga tahap pemanenan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman dan kecakapan praktis peserta dalam mengaplikasikan teknik budidaya yang baik, ditunjukkan dengan keberhasilan panen lele yang mencapai bobot standar pasar yaitu 12 ekor/kg. Program ini diharapkan menjadi bekal wirausaha yang konkret bagi warga binaan setelah kembali ke masyarakat sekaligus mendukung kemandirian pangan di lingkungan rutan.

Abstract

The heavy metal lead has been reported to pollute waters along the Glagah River, Lamongan Regency, Indonesia. Lead contamination in all organs of the Tutut snail (Filopaludina javanica) was detected at 2.92 ± 0.5 ppm. Therefore, lead contamination can cause severe problems because lead can accidentally accumulate in the human body through the food chain. One effort to reduce risks related to food safety is Depuration. The research aimed to analyze the effect of Depuration using a flushing system on histopathological changes and metallothionein levels in all organs of the spotted snail (Filopaludina javanica). The research used a Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and three replications. Treatment includes flushing time (6 hours, 12 hours, 18 and 24 hours). The MT response was tested statistically using One Way Anova, while the histopathological analysis used a descriptive method by comparing before treatment and after flushing treatment for 24 hours, to determine metallothionein levels, the ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) method was used. The results showed tissue damage in edema, hyperplasia, and vacuolation. Tissue damage before and after Depuration was relatively the same and included in the low category, with damage ranging from (0-6.1%). Meanwhile, metallothionein analysis has not shown a significant decrease in levels. Metallothionein levels increased with the duration of flushing. Further checks showed that the media water used in flushing during Depuration contained Fe and Zn, which resulted in increased MT levels
