Abstract

The interactive media development training for Mathematics teachers in the MGMP group at SMP Negeri 1 Soromandi aimed to enhance teachers' competencies in utilizing PhET and Wordwall technologies in project-based learning, in alignment with the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. This study used a questionnaire method to evaluate the training, with 21 participants providing assessments regarding the usefulness of the material, the effectiveness of the trainers, the use of media, and the challenges faced. The results of the analysis showed that the training was highly beneficial, with an average score of 5.00, and the interactive media used was deemed effective, with an average score of 4.90. The trainers were rated highly competent in delivering material systematically (average 4.95) and communicatively (average 4.90). However, the training manual received criticism for being incomplete (average 1.00), and some participants suggested extending the discussion time. This training successfully achieved its goal of improving teacher competencies, although improvements are needed in the training manual and discussion time allocation. Future training program development should focus on these two aspects to increase the effectiveness and sustainability of the training.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) on mathematical literacy and student motivation among middle school students. Mathematical literacy is essential in developing students' problem-solving skills and critical thinking, making it crucial in today's information-driven world. This quasi-experimental study involved two groups: an experimental group that participated in PjBL and a control group that received conventional instruction. Data were collected through mathematical literacy tests, observation of student engagement, and motivation questionnaires. The results indicate that students in the PjBL group showed a significant improvement in mathematical literacy, with an increase in average scores by 26.9% compared to an 11.6% increase in the control group. PjBL also positively influenced student motivation, as evidenced by higher engagement scores and positive attitudes toward mathematics. These findings highlight the effectiveness of PjBL in not only enhancing mathematical understanding but also fostering essential 21st-century skills such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. The study underscores the importance of implementing contextual and interactive learning approaches like PjBL to make mathematics more relevant and engaging for students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of online collaboration in enhancing social skills and student engagement in elementary schools from 2019 to 2024. Using a bibliometric approach, data were collected from Crossref through the Publish or Perish application, focusing on keywords such as "online collaboration," "social skills," and "student engagement." A total of 810 publications were analyzed, indicating a positive trend in research on online collaboration, with a peak in publications occurring in 2022 with 253 articles, and the lowest number recorded in 2019 with 93 articles. The results show that online collaboration improves communication and cooperation skills among students and encourages their engagement in learning. Online collaboration tools, such as Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams, have enhanced student motivation and responsibility for their learning outcomes. However, challenges such as the digital divide and the need for teacher training have also been identified as barriers to implementing this method. This research provides important insights for educational practitioners and policymakers to optimize the use of technology in elementary education. With recommendations for further research on new technologies in online collaboration, this study emphasizes the significance of online collaboration as a key element in creating an inclusive and effective learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to identify students' misconceptions based on field-dependent (FD) and field-independent (FI) cognitive styles through the application of the Jigsaw learning model, particularly in mathematics learning. The research subjects consisted of 4 seventh-grade students at SMPN 1 Bolo, divided into FD and FI groups based on the results of the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT). The findings show that FD students had a higher misconception rate than FI students. A total of 35% of FD students experienced misconceptions. On the other hand, FI students had a lower percentage of misconceptions, at 15%. Applying the Jigsaw learning model successfully reduced misconceptions in both groups, especially among FI students, who are naturally more independent in processing information. However, FD students require additional intervention in the form of guidance and peer support to enhance their understanding. In conclusion, the Jigsaw learning model is effective in reducing misconceptions, particularly for FI students, but it still requires adaptations for FD students to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

The development of critical thinking skills is one of the learning objectives applied in the Merdeka Curriculum through the Pancasila student profile. However, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum that meets the students' needs has not been fully developed in each school. Therefore, one effort that can be used to address this issue is by implementing differentiated learning based on inquiry learning. This research aims to determine the effect of implementing differentiated learning based on inquiry learning on improving students' critical thinking skills. The research design uses a mixed methods approach. The population in this study includes all 10th-grade students (Class X.E) at SMA Negeri 2 Woha. Using cluster random sampling, two classes were selected as the research sample, with each class consisting of 23 students, divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data collection techniques include test sheets and interviews. Quantitative data analysis was obtained from the test results using the N-Gain and Wilcoxon tests, while qualitative data analysis was obtained from the interview results. The findings show that in the experimental class, 26,2% of students achieved the highest improvement in critical thinking skills, whereas in the control class, 34,8% of students did not experience any improvement in critical thinking skills. In conclusion, there was an improvement in both critical thinking skills and mathematics learning outcomes as a result of implementing differentiated learning based on inquiry learning in the experimental class compared to the control class.

Abstract

Masalah utama yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar adalah rendahnya minat dan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses belajar, terutama bagian numerasi. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut maka penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan implementasi permainan Gopa dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan keterampilan numerasi siswa sekolah dasar. Permainan Gopa, yang diadaptasi dari permainan tradisional engklek, menggabungkan unsur fisik, strategi, dan penyelesaian soal matematika secara kolaboratif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain studi kasus eksploratif, melibatkan 19 siswa kelas III SDN Pandai yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, serta seorang guru sebagai fasilitator. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan Gopa berhasil meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, menciptakan atmosfer belajar yang aktif dan kolaboratif, serta membantu siswa memahami konsep matematika dengan cara yang menyenangkan. Wawancara dengan siswa dan guru mengindikasikan bahwa permainan ini juga meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan pemahaman materi. Penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa penggunaan permainan tradisional seperti permainan Gopa dapat menjadi alternatif efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan numerasi siswa di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika khususnya pada materi perkalian menggunakan metode porogapit. Metode porogapit atau metode pembagian bersusun dikenal sebagai salah satu teknik dasar yang digunakan untuk operasi aritmatika perkalian. Meskipun metode ini sering diajarkan di sekolah dasar, banyak siswa yang masih menghadapi kesulitan dalam penerapannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan wawancara yang di validasi dengan triangualsi sumber. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas V SDN O’o dengan jumlah 9 orang siswa yang beralamatkan di Desa Mpili Kecamatan Donggo. Tahap analisis mengacu pada Miles dan Huberman dengan menggunakan empat tahapan analisis. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa Tingkat kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal perkalian matematika menggunakan metode porogapit terletak pada kesulitan dalam memahami konsep soal, kesulitan dalam melakukan operasi hitung perkalian matematika, serta kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Kesimpulannya bahwa tingkat kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika menggunakan metode porogapit disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, yaitu pemahaman konsep yang kurang, kesalahan prosedural, dan faktor psikologis. Maka untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, guru perlu meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual, melakukan pendekatan bertahap dalam pembelajaran, melakukan latihan secara terus menerus serta memberikan motivasi kepada siswa.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan penting yang harus dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Namun, berbagai studi menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa masih tergolong rendah, ditandai dengan dominannya pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional, minimnya penggunaan soal open-ended, rendahnya penerapan literasi numerasi, serta kurangnya keterampilan guru dalam mendorong berpikir tingkat tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi problematika serta menawarkan solusi dalam pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika melalui pendekatan studi literatur. Data dikumpulkan dari berbagai artikel ilmiah, jurnal nasional, dan buku-buku relevan yang membahas tema berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, dan inovasi pembelajaran matematika. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan analisis isi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa solusi efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa meliputi penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (Problem-Based Learning), penggunaan soal open-ended, integrasi literasi numerasi, pelatihan guru dalam teknik pertanyaan tingkat tinggi, pembelajaran berbasis kolaboratif, serta penguatan refleksi diri dalam proses pembelajaran. Dengan penerapan solusi tersebut, pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa diharapkan dapat berjalan lebih sistematis dan berkelanjutan. Temuan ini memberikan arah bagi pengembangan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif untuk membentuk siswa yang berpikir logis, reflektif, dan adaptif dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21.

Abstract

Literasi numerasi perlu ditanamkan pada anak-anak sejak usia dini sebagai pondasi yang kuat dalam meningkatkan literasi numerasi dijenjang pendidikan berikutnya. Tidak hanya pada jenjang pendidikan sekolah namun dalam lingkup kegiatan masyarakatpun literasi numerasi perlu ditanamkan. Oleh karena itu, tim penulis mengadakan Pelaksanaan Pengabdian Masyarakat dengan tujuan agar anak-anak sadar akan numerasi. Media yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah media lagu yang berhubungan dengan perhitungan lebih tepatnya tentang pengurangan bagi anak-anak yang umur 7 - 10 Tahun. Peserta pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu anak-anak yang berada di Dusun Rangga Desa Kalampa Kecamatan Woha. Hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak terampil berhitung pengurangan dengan menggunakan lagu sebab kegiatan pembelajaran yang diadakan lebih mudah dipahami dan sangat menyenangkan bagi anak-anak. Dengan hasil tersebut maka kegiatan pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat dengan menggunakan lagu dapat meningkatkan kesadaran numerasi bagi anak-anak.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy skills play a crucial role in enabling students to take on constructive, active, and reflective roles in facing global challenges in the 21st century. However, observations at SMPN 4 Woha revealed that students' mathematical literacy remains low due to the use of conventional teaching methods. This study aims to describe the implementation process of technology-based differentiated learning within the context of ethnomathematics using Bima woven fabric motifs, in an effort to enhance students’ mathematical literacy and character education. A qualitative approach was employed, using purposive sampling to select three students from a total of 20 seventh-grade students as research subjects. The instruments used included tests, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate that the implementation of technology-based differentiated learning with the context of Bima woven fabric ethnomathematics has a significant impact on improving students’ mathematical literacy and strengthening their character education.
