Abstract

The maternal mortality rate in North Maluku was 255 per 100,000 live births in 2022, higher than the SDG target of 70. Main causes included hemorrhage (21. 14%), hypertension (26. 34%), and infections (2. 76%). Most deaths happened postpartum (60. 90%). This study used a phenomenological approach with informants from the Head of the Health Office, Head of TU, Doctors, Nurses, Midwives, and postpartum womenThe study aimed to evaluate how well policies work, examine challenges in human resources and communication, and understand the traits and views of program implementers. Results should enhance program execution to lower Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) at UPTD Puskesmas Patani using Van Meter Van Horn theory. The research used in-depth interview guidelines about PONED implementation. It found that: 1. Standards and policy objectives are implemented. 2. Human resources are below standard. 3. Communication between organizations is poor. 4. Implementing agent characteristics are good. 5. Implementer attitudes are good. 6. The environment is good. Implementation of the PONED program at the UPTD Puskesmas Patani according to Van Meter Van Horn's theory to reduce maternal mortality rates (MMR) has gone well in 4 elements: standards, measures, targets, and policy objectives; characteristics of implementing agents; attitudes of implementers; and the social, economic, and political environment. However, 2 elements, namely human resources and communication between organizational characteristics, have not gone well. This study should focus on the implementation of the PONED program and more in-depth exploration of the patient referral process in emergencies.

According to WHO, adolescents are defined as residents in the age range 10-19 years, according to the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Health Regulation Number 25 of 2014, adolescents are residents in the age range 10-18 years and according to the Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) the age range for adolescents is 10-18 years. 24 years old and not married. Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood which is marked by physical, emotional and psychological changes. During this period, there was rapid growth and development, both physical and mental. Abstract

Adolescents are a group that is vulnerable to mental health problems due to biological, psychological, and social changes. Limited knowledge and existing stigma contribute to the low efforts in early detection and management of mental health issues. This community service program aimed to improve adolescents’ knowledge of mental health through educational activities using an innovative board game. The activity was conducted at SMK Bhakti Utama Pati on September 23, 2025, involving 32 students from grade XI as participants. The methods used included lectures, interactive discussions, and an educational board game. Evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test, as well as a satisfaction survey. Mental health problems among adolescents are increasing, as shown by the pre-test results, with an average score of 76.27, indicating that adolescents’ understanding of mental health is still relatively low. This condition highlights the importance of engaging and effective educational interventions to raise awareness and enhance stress management skills among adolescents. The community service activity aimed to increase adolescents’ knowledge and awareness of mental health through the innovative media “Mental Health Snake and Ladder” (MINDSTEP). The implementation methods included preparation, interactive education using the game, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge and understanding after the educational session. Participant satisfaction reached 93.75%, indicating that this game-based educational method was considered highly engaging and beneficial. The MINDSTEP program (“Mental Health Snake and Ladder”) proved to be an effective interactive educational tool in improving adolescents’ mental health literacy and can be replicated in various educational institutions as a promotive and preventive effort.
