Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara dukungan teman sebaya dan kesejahteraan subjektif siswa dalam konteks sekolah. Berdasarkan hipotesis bahwa tingkat dukungan teman sebaya yang lebih tinggi berkorelasi positif dengan tingkat kesejahteraan subjektif yang lebih tinggi, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana ikatan emosional dan sosial antar teman memengaruhi kepuasan hidup, ketahanan emosional, dan kesehatan psikologis siswa. Melalui analisis kuantitatif terhadap siswa sekolah menengah, ditemukan korelasi positif yang signifikan antara persepsi dukungan teman sebaya dan berbagai indikator kesejahteraan subjektif. Temuan ini sejalan dengan literatur sebelumnya yang menekankan pentingnya hubungan teman sebaya yang suportif dalam membangun stabilitas emosional dan motivasi belajar. Selain itu, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa validasi emosional dan bantuan praktis dari teman sebaya berperan sebagai faktor pelindung terhadap distress psikologis.  Hasil ini menekankan urgensi integrasi program dukungan teman sebaya dalam lingkungan pendidikan guna meningkatkan kesejahteraan holistik siswa. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan intervensi psikososial yang menempatkan keterhubungan sosial antar siswa sebagai jalur strategis untuk meningkatkan kesehatan mental dan penyesuaian diri remaja di sekolah. Abstract

Abstract. Psychological well-being is a multidimensional construct crucial for human welfare. This study aims to analyze the influence of internal and external locus of control, emotion regulation, and self-esteem on psychological well-being. The sample consisted of 219 respondents. Linear regression analysis showed that the model explained 45.6% of the variance in psychological well-being (R² = 0.456). Self-esteem was the strongest predictor (β = 0.526, p < 0.001), followed by internal locus of control (β = 0.522, p < 0.001). External locus of control had a significant negative effect (β = -0.407, p = 0.002), while emotion regulation contributed minimally (β = 0.046, p = 0.042). The findings were validated with Spearman correlation, showing convergent validity. The findings imply that self-esteem and sense of internal control are the main determinants of psychological well-being among students. Keywords: psychological well-being, locus of control, self-esteem, emotion regulation

Abstract

Abstrak. Perpindahan santri baru dari lingkungan rumah ke lingkungan pesantren dapat menimbulkan tantangan psikologis berupa homesickness, yaitu kondisi emosi negatif yang disebabkan oleh berpisahnya diri dengan lingkungan rumah. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 80% siswa melaporkan pernah merasa rindu kampung halaman setelah memulai pendidikan di tempat baru. Self compassion sebagai kemampuan memahami diri serta berbuat baik terhadap diri sendiri ketika mengalami situasi sulit dipandang dapat memengaruhi tingkat homesickness pada santri baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara self compassion dengan homesickness pada santri baru di Pondok Pesantren Modern Rahmatul Asri. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 119 santri baru kelas VII yang dipilih menggunakan random sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan skala homesickness (9 aitem) dan skala self compassion (10 aitem) yang telah divalidasi. Analisis data menggunakan Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas santri mengalami homesickness kategori sedang (71%) dan self compassion kategori tinggi (48%). Uji korelasi menghasilkan koefisien korelasi rxy = -0,195 dengan signifikansi p = 0,034 (p < 0,05), menunjukkan hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara self compassion dengan homesickness. Terdapat hubungan negatif yang bermakna antara self compassion dengan homesickness, dimana semakin tinggi self compassion maka semakin rendah homesickness yang dialami santri baru. Disarankan pengembangan program pembinaan yang mendukung peningkatan self compassion untuk mengurangi homesickness santri baru. Kata Kunci: Adaptasi, Homesickness, Pondok Pesantren, Santri Baru, Self Compassion

Abstract

School well-being is a key indicator of students’ psychological adjustment and academic success. Early adolescents face increasing psychological pressure and complex academic demands, highlighting the crucial role of family support in maintaining their well-being at school. This study examined the influence of parental involvement on the school well-being of 150 junior high school students in Makassar and Gowa, Indonesia, using a quantitative correlational design. The instruments included the school well being schale and the Parental involvement schale, both balidated through content and reability testing. The result revealed a strong positive correlation between parental involvement and school well being (r=0,782, p<0,01). Simple linear regression analysis showed that parental involvement accounted for 61,2% of the variance in school well being. These findings underscore the essential role of parents in fostering students’ positive psychological experiences at school and emphasize the urgency of developing programs that strengthen parent-school partnerships.

Abstract

Low student engagement in learning remains a serious problem in junior high school education, particularly in Indonesia. Initial survey data from 36 students showed that 52.7% had skipped school without permission, 50% were frequently late, and 75% felt unmotivated to learn. This condition underscores the importance of research on psychological factors that contribute to increased student engagement. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-control and student engagement, which includes four dimensions: agentic, behavioral, emotional, and cognitive, based on the framework proposed by Fredricks et al. (2004) and further developed by Reeve and Tseng (2011). The method employed was a quantitative correlational design, with 207 students aged 12–16 years selected through convenience sampling. The instruments used were the Student Engagement Scale (20 items, ω = .876) and the Self-Control Scale (20 items, ω = .844). Analysis using Pearson's Product-Moment correlation showed a significant positive relationship between self-control and student learning engagement (r = 0.466, p < 0.001). The highest correlation was found in the behavioral dimension, followed by emotional, cognitive, and agentic dimensions. Additional analysis revealed differences based on gender and grade level: female and seventh-grade students had higher self-control and learning engagement than male and eighth-grade students. The novelty of this study lies in testing a multidimensional model of student engagement simultaneously, with self-control as the primary predictor, in the context of Indonesian junior high school students. This topic has been rarely researched. Practically, the results of this study recommend implementing self-control training through character-based activities and self-reflection in school, as well as consistent parenting support at home, to continually increase student learning engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of parental expectation on student engagement with self-efficacy as a mediating variable among final-year undergraduate students in Makassar State University. A total of 384 students participated in this study, selected using the accidental sampling technique. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression and mediation testing through path analysis. The results indicate that parental expectation has a positive and significant effect on self-efficacy (p < 0.001), self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on student engagement (p < 0.001), and parental expectation also has a direct positive effect on student engagement (p = 0.029). Furthermore, the mediation test reveals a partial mediation effect of self-efficacy (p = 0.049), indicating that parental expectations can enhance students’ academic engagement both directly and indirectly through increased self-efficacy. These findings highlight the importance of parental support and expectations while emphasizing the need for students to develop strong self-efficacy to optimize their engagement in completing their final projects. Therefore, the implication of this study is that parents are expected not only to place pressure on achievement, but also to be present as a source of emotional support and motivation, so that the expectations given function as encouragement rather than a burden. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh parental expectation terhadap student engagement dengan self-efficacy sebagai variabel mediasi pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Universitas Negeri Makassar. Sebanyak 384 mahasiswa menjadi partisipan dalam penelitian ini yang dipilih menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji mediasi dengan analisis jalur (path analysis). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parental expectation berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap self-efficacy (p < 0,001), self-efficacy berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap student engagement (p < 0,001) dan parental expectation juga berpengaruh langsung terhadap student engagement (p = 0,029). Hasil uji mediasi menunjukkan bahwa adanya mediasi parsial oleh self-efficacy (p = 0,049), yang berarti harapan orang tua dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan akademik mahasiswa baik secara langsung maupun melalui peningkatan self-efficacy. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya peran dukungan dan harapan orang tua, sekaligus menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa perlu memiliki keyakinan terhadap kemampuan diri agar dapat terlibat secara optimal dalam penyelesaian tugas akhir. Oleh karena itu implikasi penelitian ini adalah orang tua diharapkan tidak hanya memberikan tekanan untuk berprestasi, tetapi juga hadir sebagai sumber dukungan emosional dan motivasi, sehingga harapan yang diberikan menjadi dorongan, bukan beban.

Abstract

Mahasiswa tingkat akhir menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam menyelesaikan tugas akhir, khususnya skripsi. Tantangan ini sering kali disebabkan oleh tekanan akademik, tuntutan keluarga, kendala personal, serta keterbatasan kemampuan belajar. Academic hardiness dan self regulated learning menjadi aspek krusial untuk mengatasi tantangan ini. Kajian ini bermaksud guna mengidentifikasi korelasi self regulated learning dengan academic hardiness pada mahasiswa skripsi Fakultas Psikologi UNM. Instrumen yang diterapkan ialah skala self regulated learning dengan perolehan reliabilitas 0,928 serta skala academic hardiness dengan nilai reliabilitas 0,804. Data dianalisis menerapkan pengujian spearman rho dengan bantuan software SPPSS 27 for mac. Perolehan kajian ini dalam pengujian hipotesis menerapkan uji spearman rho dengan perolehan signifikan p = 0,000 (p<0,05), serta perolehan koefisien korelasi sejumlah 0,372 dengan koefisien positif. Dengan demikian, dapat menyimpulkan bahwasanya terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara self-regulated learning serta academic hardiness pada mahasiswa skripsi Fakultas Psikologi UNM.
