Abstract

TripAdvisor is a widely used digital application for tourists to access information on destinations, accommodations, and travel experiences. User reviews on the Google Play Store reflect direct perceptions of the application, making them a valuable source for evaluating user satisfaction. This study analyzes 493 tourism-related reviews using a text mining approach, including text preprocessing and sentiment classification. The results show a dominance of positive sentiment, primarily related to ease of use, completeness of information, and the effectiveness of search features. Negative sentiment appears less frequently and is mainly associated with account issues, transactions, and refund processes. These findings indicate that user satisfaction is more influenced by the quality of service and application features than by the tourism destinations themselves. The study provides insights for application developers and offers a systematic understanding of tourist perceptions toward digital tourism applications.

Abstract

The increasing use of visual media in university admissions highlights the need for systematic evaluation of promotional poster design. However, existing assessments are largely subjective and lack measurable indicators. This study aims to analyze the visual and textual characteristics of a university admission poster using a computational approach. A quantitative–descriptive visual case study was conducted using Python-based image processing, including color histogram analysis, dominant color extraction, grayscale density measurement, edge detection, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR). The results show a grayscale density of 140.31, an edge density ratio of 9.16%, and a text area ratio of 11.85%, indicating moderate visual complexity and structured layout organization. The dominant color palette and OCR results (169 words; 1,179 characters) reflect a relatively high informational load. These findings represent visual features associated with communicative design and are interpreted as theoretical proxies rather than direct measures of communication effectiveness. The study provides a computational, theory-informed framework for analyzing promotional poster design in higher education contexts.

Abstract

The sales and inventory management system at XYZ Building Store often faces numerous problems stemming from manual methods, such as errors in documentation, slow stock report production, and transaction inefficiencies. The waterfall model is best suited for system development in small to medium projects, especially when system requirements are defined from the beginning. Needs evaluation, system design, system development, system feasibility assessment, and system maintanance are elements of the waterfall model. This research intends to create a web-based sales and inventory management platform for the XYZ building store by employing Laravel 11 and Tailwind CSS frameworks, along with the Flowbite template. The Laravel and Tailwind CSS frameworks were chosen for their capability to ease website development and create a sleek, contemporary, and responsive site. The study's results demonstrate that the created system has successfully met user needs and incorporates a modern and flexible design. The results from assessing the system developed through the Black Box Testing method, comprising 6 modules and 12 scenarios, demonstrate a 100% validity rate, which implies that the system functions efficiently and is appropriate for general application.

Abstract

The development of digital technology today has driven significant changes in people's consumption patterns, including in the food and beverage industry. However, many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in the culinary sector still rely on traditional methods or social media that are not designed for commercial transactions, resulting in various problems that occur, such as in recording and managing orders. This study aims to design and implement FoodHub, a website-based food ordering site that is intended to help digitize the culinary Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise business process. The system was developed using the prototyping method, with PHP Native, MySQL technology, as well as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on the user interface. The main features include category pages, product pages, product detail pages, and others. Based on the results of system testing using the BlackBox Testing method, 100% valid results were obtained. Referring to these results, the system is running according to user needs and is declared feasible to be operated by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

The digital transformation of library services plays a crucial role in improving the accessibility and efficiency of academic information systems. This study aims to design and develop a web-based digital library system equipped with online book lending and automatic reservation features. The system was developed using the Waterfall model, which consists of requirement analysis, system design, software development, testing, and evaluation. Technologies used include PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL as the database. The test results indicate that all system features work effectively and receive positive responses from users, especially in terms of accessibility, service speed, and interface usability. The system enables users to access the book catalog online, borrow books without physically visiting the library, and automatically reserve books when the desired book is unavailable. The implementation of this system has been proven to reduce queues, minimize manual errors, and improve the efficiency of library services. This study contributes to digital library transformation and can serve as a reference for similar system development in educational institutions.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has encouraged business actors, including the coffee shop sector, to adapt through the implementation of web-based systems. However, many coffee shops still face challenges in ordering processes, product data management, and transaction recording, which are often done manually, thereby reducing operational efficiency. This study aims to design and implement a web-based information system that facilitates product ordering, inventory management, and digital transaction recording. The system was developed using PHP as the backend programming language, along with CSS and Bootstrap for a responsive user interface. The development method used is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model, which includes the stages of requirement analysis, design, implementation, and testing. Testing was conducted using the black-box method to ensure that each feature functions properly. The test results showed a validation rate of 100%, indicating that the system operates optimally and is ready for use. Therefore, this information system is expected to help coffee shops manage their business activities more efficiently, accurately, and systematically.

Abstract

Software testing processes often encounter challenges in preparing realistic, consistent, and efficient test data. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Laravel Seeder and Faker as automated mechanisms for generating test data during the testing phase of Laravel-based web applications, specifically using a simple library system as a case study. The main objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of these two methods in supporting application testing, focusing on time efficiency and the representativeness of generated data under real-world conditions. Experiments were conducted on three main entities—User, Category, and Books—across three dataset scales: small (10 records), medium (100 records), and large (1000 records). The results show that the manual seeder achieved faster execution times (2.17s to 222.58s for 10–1000 records), while the Faker seeder required slightly longer times (2.03s to 253.43s) due to randomized data generation. However, Faker produced more diverse and realistic datasets, making it better suited for stress testing and performance evaluation scenarios. This study concludes that the manual seeder is more appropriate for application logic validation and integration testing, whereas the Faker seeder is more effective for user behavior simulation and large-scale load testing. A hybrid approach combining both methods is recommended to balance efficiency and realism in the test data generation process for Laravel-based software testing.

Abstract

The implementation of student internship programs requires information media that can present internship location data in a structured, effective, and easily accessible manner to various parties involved. However, the management and delivery of internship location information are still often carried out conventionally, making it difficult for students to obtain internship location references and making it difficult for Study Programs to monitor the distribution of student internship locations. This study aims to develop a WebGIS-based student internship location mapping website using native PHP, MySQL, and Leaflet.js. The developed system is able to display the distribution of internship locations in the form of an interactive digital map with location marker features, filters based on categories, faculties, and majors, user location detection using Geolocation API, detailed location information, image documentation, and direction integration using Google Maps. In addition, the system provides administrator features for location data management, dashboard overview, application statistics, and category, faculty, and major data management. System development was carried out using the Waterfall method and system testing using Black Box Testing based on Functional Suitability characteristics. The test results showed that 19 test scenarios obtained valid status with a functional success rate of 100%. The test results indicate that all system features and functions have met system requirements. Thus, the website can be used as a WebGIS-based internship location information media that supports students in obtaining internship location information and helps lecturers and Study Programs in monitoring the distribution of student internship locations more effectively.
