Abstract

Pregnant women are prone to anemia, because during pregnancy, especially at the end of pregnancy, the process of hemodilution occurs. This process is due to the increase in blood plasma volume in the body which is not proportional to the increase in red blood cell volume, resulting in a decrease in hemoglobin levels in the blood (Ali, 2020). A decrease in hemoglobin levels during pregnancy will cause a decrease in oxygen transport to the body and result in anemia (Percy, et al., 2017). Anemia during pregnancy has long-term and short-term impacts. In the short term, a fetus with an anemic mother in the first trimester is at risk of small for gestational age (SGA) and fetal distress. In Trimester II, the fetus is at risk for macrosomia (Sun et al., 2021), and in Trimester III in the long term it will have an impact on neurocognitive in childhood. Long-term effects include autism, schizophrenia, brain structural abnormalities, impaired thinking memory, and delays in responding to things (Georgieff, 2020; Malinowski et al., 2021). The impact of anemia on mothers during pregnancy in the short term includes infectious shock during inpartum and postpartum (Getahun, et al., 2017), cardiac decompensation (Stephen et al., 2018), and postpartum hemorrhage (Getahun, et al., 2017). In the long term, postpartum hemorrhage leads to death. Meanwhile, postpartum hemorrhage is the first cause of high maternal mortality rates (MMR) in Indonesia in 2020.

Abstract

Fluorus albus (vaginal discharge) is white fluid that comes out of the sexual canal in excess. Fluorus albus is a vaginal fluid, not blood. During pregnancy, vaginal discharge increases in quantity. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), recommendations in America that reproductive health problems include 31.6% of pregnant women experiencing vaginal discharge (fluor albus) caused by the fungus Candida albican. In Indonesia, the problem of vaginal discharge is increasing, with more than 75% of women experiencing vaginal discharge due to the humid temperature in Indonesia, making them easily infected. candida albicans fungus, parasites such as pinworms or germs (trichomonas vaginalis) (WHO, 2019). According to data from the 2019 North Sumatra Province Health Profile, there were 648,829 pregnant women in 2019, 1,566 cases of pregnant women experiencing vaginal discharge, in the city of Medan in 2019 there were 855,281 people and 45% had experienced vaginal discharge (North Sumatra Health Profile, 2020) . Method: This activity begins with the preparation, implementation and evaluation stages. Results: 15 participants in this activity were pregnant women who visited PMB Shinta in Medan Polonia, Medan City. In its implementation, it was explained that the genital organ problem that pregnant women often experience, especially in the third trimester, is fluoride albus (vaginal discharge). The types of vaginal discharge also need to be understood as well as the treatment and therapy that needs to be given to pregnant women in preventing and treating cases of Fluor Albus. Conclusion: The results obtained from this community service activity are an increase in knowledge about preventing vaginal discharge and the treatment that will be carried out if complications occur. Pregnant women who experience vaginal discharge will pose a risk to the health and growth and development of their fetus later. The risk of vaginal discharge before and after was an increase of 15% for the good level of knowledge, and 27% for the sufficient level, and at the level of poor knowledge it decreased by 40%. With this change in the level of knowledge and strengthening understanding of Fluor Albus, it is hoped that pregnant women will be more aware of the conditions of their pregnancy, especially in maintaining personal hygiene which will result in disruption of fetal growth and development. Conclusion: The results obtained from this community service activity are an increase in knowledge about preventing vaginal discharge and the treatment that will be carried out if complications occur. Pregnant women who experience vaginal discharge will pose a risk to the health and growth and development of their fetus later. The risk of vaginal discharge before and after was 15% increased for the good level of knowledge, and 27% for the sufficient level, and for the poor knowledge level it decreased by 40%.

Abstract

Breast milk (ASI) is the first, main and best food in the early stages of a baby's life that is natural. ASI is like gold given for free by God because ASI is a living fluid that can adjust its substance content that can meet the nutritional needs of babies. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) until 2020, only around 44% of babies worldwide aged 0-6 months received exclusive ASI. This is not in accordance with the WHO target in 2025, which is to increase the provision of exclusive ASI in the first 6 months to at least 50% (WHO, 2020). The coverage of exclusive ASI according to Regency/City in 2022 can be seen from the data reported by Central Aceh Regency with the highest coverage of 82.34% and the lowest is Sabang City at only 22.43%. This study aims to identify the Relationship between Knowledge of Breastfeeding Mothers and Exclusive Breastfeeding at BPM Siti Fujiana, East Aceh Regency in 2024. This study used a Cross Sectional design, the research time was May-June 2024, with a population and sample of 46 people. Abstract

Antenatal Care (ANC) examination is a series of activities carried out from conception until before the labor process begins, which is aimed at all pregnant women. Coverage of antenatal care visits is still low, which can increase maternal and neonatal complications as well as maternal and child deaths caused by high-risk pregnancies that are not immediately treated. In 2023, the highest birth assistance process by traditional midwives was in Gayo Lues Regency at 4.42 percent and Southeast Aceh Regency at 4.32 percent. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women and the frequency of antenatal care visits at BPM Syukriah, Langsa City, Aceh Province in 2024. This study used a Cross Sectional design, the research time was May-June 2024, with a population and sample of 34 people. The sampling technique used total sampling, the analysis test used the Chi Square Test. The majority of respondents who had poor knowledge and had an incomplete history of antenatal care visits were 16 people (47.1%), while the majority of respondents who had good knowledge and had a complete history of antenatal care visits were 9 people (26.5%). There is a significant relationship between the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women with antenatal care visits at BPM Syukhriah, Langsa City, Aceh Province with a p value <0.05 (0.001).
