Abstract

The issue of drug abuse among Indonesian teenagers has reached alarming levels in 2024, with a national prevalence of 2.4% and 2.9% in North Sumatra Province. In Langkat Regency, there has been a 15% increase in drug cases among teenagers compared to the previous year. To address this challenge, the Desa Bersinar (Drug-Free Village) program was launched in Langkat Regency, utilizing an innovative peer group method in anti-drug interactive dialogues. This method was chosen for its effectiveness in fostering personal and relevant communication among teenagers, allowing anti-drug messages to be conveyed more deeply. The implementation involved collaboration between BNNK Langkat, Universitas Haji Sumatera Utara, and STIKes Columbia Asia Medan, integrating the program into community service initiatives. Discussions facilitated by peer leaders, supported by academics, used the SIGAB BNN Module as a comprehensive guide, aiming to create a drug-free school environment and develop a generation more aware of the dangers of drugs

Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the body has too few red blood cells (erythrocytes), where the red blood cells contain hemoglobin which functions to carry oxygen to all body tissues (Nugroho, 2014). During pregnancy there is an increase in blood volume or also called as (hypervolemia). In pregnant women, anemia increases the frequency of complications in pregnancy and childbirth. During pregnancy, if anemia cannot be treated until the end of pregnancy, it will affect the postpartum period. The current government program to prevent anemia is to give pregnant women a minimum of 90 iron tablets during pregnancy containing 320 mg FeSO4 (60 mg iron and 0.25 mg folic acid). This program aims to prevent and overcome the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. This type of research is analytical research with a cross sectional design, namely the researcher takes samples from a population using a questionnaire as a data collection tool where the sample size is 46 pregnant women. From the results of the cross tabulation, it shows that the parity variable on the incidence of anemia in pregnant women obtained statistical test results with a p value = 0.005, meaning that there is a significant relationship between parity and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women at the Tiram Community Health Center, Tiram District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province. 2022. Based on the research results of the knowledge variable on the incidence of anemia in pregnant women, statistical test results were obtained with a value of p value = 0.000, meaning that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the Tiram District Health Center, Tiram District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province. 2022. Based on the research results of the variable compliance with the consumption of Fe tablets on the incidence of anemia in pregnant women, statistical test results were obtained with a p value = 0.007, meaning that there was a significant relationship between compliance with the consumption of Fe tablets and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the Tiram Village Community Health Center, Tiram District, Batu Bara Regency. North Sumatra Province in 2022 Conclusion: From a total of 46 respondents as a result of research on the variables of parity, knowledge and compliance, there is a significant relationship to the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the Tiram Village Community Health Center, Tiram District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province in 2022.

Abstract

One of the causes of bleeding is due to perineal rupture. This type of research is an analytic survey with a cross-sectional research design. The number of samples used was 34 people obtained by using the total sampling technique. Data analysis technique using chi square. The results obtained in this study were that most of the mothers who had good knowledge of the absence of Perineal Rupture were 18 people (52.9%), and most of the mothers who had poor knowledge of the occurrence of Perineal Rupture were 7 people ( 20.6%). Based on the results of the chi square test, there is a relationship between Knowledge of Straining Techniques in Maternal Birth and Perineal Rupture with a P value = 0.014 <0.05. There is a relationship between Knowledge of Straining Techniques in Maternity Mothers with Perineal Rupture. It is recommended that mothers in labor seek more information to increase their knowledge, especially about pushing techniques to avoid perineal rupture through media on the internet, health workers, and so on.

Abstract

Adolescent girls face various challenges in understanding reproductive health and the risks of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS. Limited education and communication barriers with parents lead many adolescents to seek information from unreliable sources. This community service program aimed to enhance adolescent girls' understanding of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention through the peer education method. The program was conducted in Karya Tani, Kecamatan Medan Johor, Pangkalan Masyhur, involving 18 adolescent girls aged 15-19 years as the primary participants. The methods used in this program included Focus Group Discussions (FGD), refusal skills training, interactive discussions, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. The evaluation results indicated a 5% increase in knowledge about reproductive health, a 10% improvement in HIV/AIDS awareness, and a 39% rise in participants’ self-confidence. Although the program had a positive impact on increasing adolescent awareness, challenges remained, such as limited program duration, low parental involvement, and communication barriers in discussing reproductive health issues. As a recommendation, extending the program duration, actively involving parents and educators, and collaborating with local health institutions are essential to ensure sustainable education. This program is expected to serve as a model for improving adolescent girls' understanding of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS, enabling them to make more informed decisions regarding their health and future.

Abstract

Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) is a simple, inexpensive, and effective method for cervical cancer screening. However, the interest of women of reproductive age (WRA) in undergoing VIA tests remains low. It is believed that knowledge and attitude significantly influence their interest in undergoing VIA screening. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitude of women of reproductive age and their interest in undergoing VIA tests in the working area of Mensiku Public Health Center, Binjai Hulu District, Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan Province, in 2024. The study employed a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach, with a sample of WRA selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using chi-square statistical tests. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge level, attitude, and the interest in undergoing VIA tests. Women with good knowledge and positive attitudes had a higher interest in undergoing VIA screening compared to those with poor knowledge and negative attitudes. Therefore, improving knowledge and fostering positive attitudes toward VIA tests are essential to increase the interest of WRA in undergoing this screening, which could serve as an initial step in preventing cervical cancer.
