Abstract

Abstract: The low level of children's cognitive ability in recognizing numbers in group A at RA Tarbiyatul Banin 49 Bancak is the reason why this study was conducted. Natural material game activities are activities that can help improve children's cognitive abilities in recognizing numbers. The purpose of this study was to improve the ability to recognize numbers through the use of natural material media at RA Tarbiyatul Banin 49 Bancak. The type of research used was classroom action research, each cycle consisting of four stages, namely: planning stage, implementation stage, observation stage, and reflection stage. The subjects of this study were students in group A of RA Tarbiyatul Banin 49 Bancak. The results of this study were children's ability to recognize numbers that had increased, before conducting research actions, the level of children's ability to recognize numbers was still very low after conducting research cycle 1 the results were 33% and in cycle 2 increased to 87%. after being carried out from the pre-cycle, cycle 1, and cycle 2 it can be concluded that the cognitive ability to recognize numbers in children in group A RA Tarbiyatul Banin 49 Bancak through natural object media has increased. Keywords: cognitive abilities, recognizing numbers, natural objects, early childhood. Abstrak: Rendahnya tingkat kemampuan kognitif anak dalam mengenal angka pada kelompok A di RA Tarbiyatul Banin 49 Bancak menjadi alasan mengapa penelitian ini dilakukan.Kegiatan permainan bahan alam merupakan kegiatan yang dapat membantu peningkatan kemampuan kognitif anak dalam mengenal angka.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal angka melalui penggunaan media bahan alam di RA Tarbiyatul Banin 49 Bancak .Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas ,yang setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu : tahap perencanaan,tahap pelaksanaan, tahap observasi, dan tahap Refleksi.Subyek penelitian ini adalah Peserta didik kelompok A RA Tarbiyatul Banin 49 Bancak.Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kemampuan mengenal angka anak yang mengalami peningkatan, sebelum melakukan tindakan penelitian, tingkat kemampuan anak mengenal angka masih tergolong sangat rendah setelah dilakukan penelitian siklus 1 diperoleh hasil 33 % dan pada siklus 2 meningkat menjadi 87%.setelah dilakukan dari prasiklus,siklus 1, dan siklus 2 dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan  kognitif mengenal angka pada anak kelompok A RA Tarbiyatul Banin 49 Bancak melalui media benda alam mengalami peningkatan. Kata Kunci : kemampuan kognitif,engenal angka,benda alam,anak usia dini.

Abstract

The integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) learning in Early Childhood Education is increasingly recognized as essential for cultivating 21st-century skills. This systematic narrative review explores how STEAM learning, when combined with loose parts media, stimulates creativity in early childhood. A total of 515 articles were initially identified through four databases (ProQuest, ERIC, Open Knowledge Map, and Elicit) covering the years 2019–2024. After applying strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, eight peer-reviewed studies were selected for analysis. These studies vary in method, including qualitative, quasi-experimental, and review-based designs, and focus on children aged 3–6 years. The review reveals that loose parts media flexible, open-ended materials enhance key dimensions of creativity such as imagination, originality, problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation when implemented within the STEAM framework. Children engaged in these activities exhibit higher levels of critical thinking and exploratory learning. The findings also highlight the importance of teacher facilitation, cultural context, and long-term developmental impact. This review enriches both practical and theoretical understanding of creative learning strategies based on loose parts within the STEAM framework in early childhood education. It contributes new insights by synthesizing studies that explicitly connect both components, which are often examined separately. Educators and policymakers are encouraged to incorporate this integrative approach into early learning environments to maximize children’s cognitive and creative growth.

Abstract

Tujuan - Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh partisipasi penyusunan anggaran terhadap kinerja aparat pemerintah daerah dengan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya (studi empiris pada Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Wonosobo) Metode – Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kausal komparatif dengan mengidentifikasi hubungan sebab akibat antara variabel independen dan dependen. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 41 responden serta kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi berganda. Hasil - Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan jika partisipasi penyusunan anggaran berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja aparat dan gaya kepemimpinan. Namun penyusunan anggaran tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap komitmen organisasi dan budaya organisasi. Pemerintah perlu menyelenggarakan briefing/workshop yang didalamnya ada pemberian motivasi dan penciptaan sistem oleh pemerintah daerah dimana semua orang dapat ikut mengakses proses penyusunan anggaran dari awal hingga akhir. Implikasi – Secara teoritis penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menambah wawasan dan pengetahuan mengenai faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi partisipasi dalam penyusunan anggaran terhadap kinerja aparat pemerintah daerah, serta juga diharapkan sebagai sarana pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan yang secara teoritis dipelajari di bangku perkuliahan. Secara praktis Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi Pemerintah Kabupaten Wonosobo dalam mengambil kebijakan-kebijakan yang berkaitan dengan penyusunan anggaran yang dapat meningkatkan kinerja aparat Pemerintah Daerah didalam instansi-instansi yang berada di lingkungan Pemerintah Kabupaten Wonosobo. Orisinalitas - Makalah ini melihat hubungan beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja aparat pemerintah daerah, dengan variabel moderasi gaya kepemimpinan, komitmen organisasi dan budaya organisasi.

Abstract

This literature review explores the influence of song implementation on the development of language skills in early childhood. Songs are widely used as an engaging educational tool to introduce children to vocabulary, sentence structures, and concepts such as counting and environmental knowledge. This study aims to examine how the integration of songs in early learning environments supports language acquisition and communication development. Using a qualitative literature review approach, relevant studies were analyzed to identify patterns in the use of music for linguistic stimulation. The findings highlight that songs significantly enhance children's vocabulary, facilitate faster word recall, and improve long-term memory retention. Moreover, singing activities help reduce language delays by creating a relaxed, enjoyable learning atmosphere that encourages verbal expression. These results underscore the importance of incorporating music-based methods in early childhood education as a strategy to optimize language development.

Abstract

Teacher performance will affect students' endurance, motivation, and spirit during learning. Someone's competence to become a teacher/Tutor is no longer enough by only mastering teaching materials, especially for tutors whose role is more as a facilitator. The purpose of this research is to find out the expectations of college students toward tutors in distance education. This research is qualitative by using a survey method. The aspect measured used an instrument of the Likert scale and then analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Key findings highlight that students recognize the importance of tutors' skills and appreciate the benefits of guided tutorials. There is a notable expectation among students for tutors and the Universitas Terbuka (UT) units to collaborate effectively to enhance tutorial services, which are integral to the learning structure in distance education. The results indicate a positive correlation between the tutors' abilities and the provision of efficient and effective learning support. Students' understanding of tutors' skills, their perception of the benefits of guided tutorials, and their internal consistency in evaluating tutor performance during tutorials are collectively rated as 'good'. This reflects the tutors' successful efforts in assisting students to become independent learners who are self-motivated and actively engaged in the learning process. The study underscores the need for focused tutor training programs aimed at developing competencies that align with students' expectations and the demands of distance education.

Abstract

The growing demand for open and distance education calls for a stronger focus on student well-being, particularly mental health. This study explores the mental health landscape at Universitas Terbuka (UT), Indonesia’s national open university, which serves a geographically dispersed and diverse student population. Employing qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs), this research aims to assess mental health needs, identify contributing stressors, and develop policy recommendations to strengthen mental health support in a distance learning context. The findings indicate that students experience anxiety, stress, and burnout, exacerbated by academic pressure, social isolation, and the absence of structured counselling services. To address these challenges, the study proposes a phased strategy: short-term awareness programs, medium-term pilot e-counselling initiatives, and long-term institutional development through a centralized mental health center. This study contributes to the field of education by offering a practical framework for integrating mental health support into distance learning environments at UT, with potential implications for similar institutions across the ASEAN region and beyond.
