Abstract

This research explains howImplementation of Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) Efforts to Realize Sustainable City Development (Analysis study of Medan City's Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW).This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, a type of literature study which aims to describe the results of the researchers' findings on several journal articles found.This literature review was carried out with the awareness that knowledge will continue to develop along with changes and progress over time. The purpose of the literature review is for the benefit of the research project itself. Research resultSpatial planning activities are interrelated, namely spatial planning, space utilization, and control of space utilization which are outlined in spatial planning products in the form of RTRW in a hierarchical manner from central to regional. Regional spatial planning is one of the mandatory affairs of regional governments in the regional autonomy regime, which is reflected in Article 13 and Article 14 of the Regional Government Law. Development is not only related to programs and activities, but also attention to spatial aspects towards sustainable development and regional economic growth. In reality, implementation in the field has not been able to fully provide optimal results regarding regional independence in general. Geographical conditions as well as diverse characteristics and unequal availability of resources are fundamental factors so that these efforts do not run with the same quality.

Abstract

This research explains howImplementation of Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) Regulations in Preparing Long-Term and Medium-Term Development Plans in Medan City. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research and literature study. The approach that will be taken in this research is to use a qualitative descriptive approach. This method can also be used by describing the data that has been collected and then comparing it to look for correlations. Data collection techniques are methods used to obtain the data needed in research using certain techniques. The results of research on Regional Regulations on Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) according to Law Number 26 of 2007 through the Implementation of National Spatial Planning to create a safe, comfortable, productive and sustainable archipelagic space, mandate that implementing regulations be formed as an operational basis for implementing the provisions -the provisions of the Law. After the spatial plan for the Medan city area is stipulated in a Regional Regulation, it is then used as a guideline in preparing long-term regional development plans, preparing medium-term regional development plans, space utilization and controlling space utilization in the Medan city area as well as realizing integration, linkage and balance between sector, determining the location and function of space for investment, spatial planning of the strategic area of ​​Medan city. Inhibiting factors in the Regional Spatial Planning in Medan City are physical problems of land that is not suitable for its intended use, environmental carrying capacity, the level of concern of law enforcement officials, and limited human resources and a community culture that still does not care about the environment. The increase in the number of settlements will have a serious impact on the sustainability and balance of this region.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the existing conditions and constraints faced in the management and distribution of clean water in Padang Tualang District, and to propose effective development strategies. Using a qualitative approach, this study identified key issues, including limited capacity of the water treatment system, damage to the distribution network, and uneven water quality. Various strategies are proposed, such as increasing the capacity of water treatment plants, repairing and expanding the distribution network, diversifying water sources, and empowering communities. This study provides recommendations to local governments, SPAM managers, and communities to work together to realize a more effective and sustainable clean water management system.
