Abstract

Associated to Birkhoff orthogonality, we study Birkhoff angles in a normed space and present some of their basic properties. We also discuss how to decide whether an angle is more acute or more obtuse than another. In addition, given two vectors $x$ and $y$ in a normed space, we study the formula for Birkhoff `cosine' of the angle from $x$ to $y$ from which we can, in principal, compute the angle. Some examples will be presented.

Abstract

Pongo abelii is an endangered orangutan species. The reduction of Pongo abelii can be caused by the removal or loss of orangutans from the population and habitat loss. In general, research on population dynamics with changing carrying capacity is rarely done and it is simulated in this study. We adopted the Verhulst logistic model to model the population dynamics of Pongo abelii. This study aimed to see the effect of increasing the carrying capacity on the population of the endangered Pongo abelii species. From the results of this study, it is concluded that for areas other than Tripa Swamp, Siranggas/Batu Ardan, and East Batang Toru (Sarulla), the addition of carrying capacity is one of the effective options that is urgently needed to maintain a large population of orangutans. For the Tripa Swamp, Siranggas/Batu Ardan, and East Batang Toru (Sarulla) areas, suppressing the number of orangutans loss population is needed to maintain the population, which consists of poaching as trade, conflict killing, hunting/food, wounding, and fire. The results of this study can provide suggestions for tackling the declining population of Pongo abelii species by prohibiting the expansion of the species’ habitat

Abstract

This study aims to explore the development strategy of Javanese script learning modules in Islamic boarding schools as part of efforts to preserve local culture. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach used to document this practice in certain Islamic boarding schools. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the development of the learning module uses three methods: carangapaka tajama (learning fast and sharp scripts), the lanyahan method (the habit of reading Javanese and Pegon script fibers such as tahsin Al-Quran), and the tegesan stage (understanding the content of the manuscript). The carangapaka tajama method is effective in increasing the speed and accuracy of students' reading, the chanyahan method builds a reading habit in a sustainable manner, while tegesan allows students to understand and reflect on the content of fibers, enriching literacy skills and cultural appreciation. These findings highlight the importance of a combination of technical teaching and comprehension discussions in creating a generation that is skilled in reading and understanding the Javanese script. The strategic implications include strengthening the curriculum with integrative methods and the involvement of literary experts to increase the effectiveness of learning. This research contributes to the development of relevant learning models and supports cultural preservation in the Islamic educational environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the concept of Human Resource Management (HRM) in Q.S. Al-Baqarah [2]:30-39. This research will reveal the meaning and relevance of these verses in the context of human resource management in Islamic educational institutions. This research uses a literature study method, analysis is carried out on various relevant literature to understand the roles and responsibilities of human resources in accordance with Islamic teachings. The results of the study show that effective human resource management includes several important aspects, including planning, selection and placement, development (training), and compensation. Human resource management from the perspective of the Quran, especially in the story of the Prophet Adam (as). (QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 30 39) shows that the quality of good human resources greatly contributes to the achievement of optimal educational goals. In addition, the concept of caliph requires each individual to have adequate knowledge and skills to carry out his duties. Therefore, this study recommends that Islamic educational institutions apply the principles of HRM based on Islamic values in daily practice.

Abstract

Communication is very important for public services, especially in the government apparatus or bureaucracy. Public service information must be conveyed clearly and straightforwardly, so that there is no misunderstanding between the conveyor and recipient of information. As happened in Leuwinanggung Village, especially in RW 005, often public service information is not conveyed. As the KKN-T (Thematic Real Work Lecture) was carried out in Leuwinanggung Village, these problems began to be faced and corrected, with the creation of information boards (Mading). As the best means that has been chosen to improve the communication system of public service information. Therefore, the creation of an information board (Mading) has been carried out on February 24, 2024, and received a positive response from the RT/RW and the local community. Because one of the problems in the region has got a solution.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to integrate Islamic spiritual values into strategic Human Resource Management (HRM) practices within Islamic educational institutions by contextualizing Makki and Madani Qur’anic verses. It introduces a dual-framework model that enhances managerial effectiveness through spiritual grounding and normative regulation. Design/methods – Utilizing a qualitative literature-based methodology, this research applies content and thematic analysis to both Qur’anic texts and institutional HRM policies. Makki verses, which emphasize moral development and spirituality, are interpreted as foundations for character-building, while Madani verses, with their legalistic and regulatory content, guide institutional governance. Data triangulation, expert validation, and inter-coder reliability checks are employed to ensure analytical rigor. Findings – The study reveals that HRM strategies grounded in the Makki-Madani framework support a balanced approach to managing personnel by fostering ethical conduct (Makki) and enforcing structured policies (Madani). Institutions adopting this approach demonstrate higher adaptability to external changes and stronger internal cohesion. However, the lack of empirical data remains a limitation, suggesting the need for further field-based validation. Research implications/limitations – While this model offers theoretical advancement in integrating Islamic principles into HRM, its reliance on qualitative sources and the absence of quantitative evidence limit the generalizability of the findings. Future studies should include case studies, performance metrics, and stakeholder interviews for broader validation. Practical implications – Educational institutions can apply the Makki-Madani framework to improve staff development, policy formation, and organizational resilience. This duality fosters a sustainable work culture rooted in spiritual ethics and adaptive governance, enabling effective responses to regulatory and moral challenges. Originality/value –This is your opportunity to provide readers with an analysis of the value of your results. It’s a good idea to ask colleagues whether your analysis is balanced and fair, and again, it is important not to exaggerate. You can also conjecture what future research steps could be.

Abstract

This study critically examines the management strategies of nasab-based religious authority among the Habaib in Indonesia, emphasizing the hybridity between traditional and modern forms of leadership. Utilizing a qualitative systematic literature review guided by the PRISMA framework, combined with Critical Discourse Analysis, the research analyzes 25 key scholarly articles alongside empirical digital media content and field observations. Grounded in Max Weber’s typology of authority, the findings reveal that lineage from the Prophet Muhammad serves as a foundational source of charismatic legitimacy for the Habaib, which is actively maintained through religious symbolism, public narratives, and social engagement. The study highlights a strategic adaptation to digital media platforms, enabling the Habaib to expand their influence beyond conventional institutions and engage younger, urban Muslim audiences. This digital hybridity complements institutional participation in formal religious and political spheres, fostering a dual legitimacy that navigates the tensions between tradition and modernity. The implications underscore the significance of hybrid authority models in sustaining religious leadership amid sociocultural modernization and digital transformation in Muslim-majority societies. Limitations include geographic concentration on Java and Sumatra and focus on social media-active groups. Recommendations for future research advocate broader, comparative investigations of nasab-based authority and its impact on religious pluralism and community cohesion

Abstract

The economic growth of each region is something that is highly hoped for by the community. Economic growth can be seen, among other things, from the increase in Real GDP and controlled inflation in an area. Apart from the increase in real GDP and inflation, of course every region has problems that cause economic growth to slow down, including unemployment. Therefore, the aim of this research is to understand the impact of GRDP and inflation on unemployment in Serang, which is the aim of this research. The data obtained comes from time series data originating from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) database. Data for the period 2011–2022. The research results show that the real GRDP variable (X1) and the inflation variable (X2) have no effect on the poverty level (Y), while the inflation variable (T Test) has a negative effect on the poverty level. This shows that the results of the real GDP and inflation variables together contributed or contributed to changes in Y of 16.0% or 84%.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in schools through the lens of Anthony Giddens' structuration theory. Field findings reveal that TQM is often applied in a bureaucratic and symbolic manner, with minimal involvement from school members and a lack of participatory reflection forums. Using the structuration framework, this study highlights that TQM structures are not fixed entities, but are formed and reproduced through the social practices of school actors. Inequities in rules and resource distribution weaken the agency of school members, while the absence of reflective spaces hinders conscious structural transformation. The analysis shows that strengthening school members as active agents is essential in building a dynamic and sustainable quality management structure. Therefore, it is recommended that schools develop collaborative structures, ensure equitable distribution of resources, establish open forums for collective reflection, and integrate TQM principles into daily practices. This study contributes theoretically to quality management approaches in educational institutions by emphasizing the reciprocal relationship between structure and agency.
