This research uses a qualitative, case study approach. With data sources coming from teachers, students and guardians of non-Muslim students. Data collection was done by interview, observation and documentation. The data was analyzed using interactive model analysis. Checking the validity of the data is done by extending observation, triangulation and checking the results with the PAIBP teacher at school. The results revealed that inclusive and tolerant religious education plays a significant role in shaping attitudes of tolerance and harmony among students with various religious backgrounds. Religious moderation in this school is implemented through various methods and approaches, both in formal learning in the classroom and through extracurricular and religious activities. The cultivation of religious moderation values not only creates a harmonious school environment but also contributes to broader social stability. Moderate religious education has proven to be effective in preventing radicalism and extremism in urban communities, thereby shaping a young generation that is moderate and able to live harmoniously in a multicultural society. These findings confirm the importance of inclusive religious education as a strategic solution to the challenges of diversity and enhancing interfaith harmony.

Abstract

Human rights are closely related to local culture. In the sense that human rights standards to be accepted and implemented require local cultural legitimacy. People are more willing to follow these human rights standards when they accept the norms and values that underlie these standards as legitimate and valid from the point of view of their own culture. In other words, the stronger the legitimacy of human rights standards, the more they will be voluntarily followed by the people in general and the better their implementation by official state organs. Conversely, according to them, the weaker the legitimacy of human rights standards, the more frequently they will be violated by the population and the more impossible it will be enforced by the state. So this article wants to examine more deeply the opinion of Abdullahi Ahmed An-Na'im

Abstract

This study investigates how digital literacy contributes to strengthening community economic development in Situbondo. The rapid advancement of information and communication technology has reshaped how people access information, perform transactions, manage businesses, and utilize public services. Despite the widespread availability of smartphones, digital literacy levels in Situbondo remain uneven and largely basic. Limited understanding of digital security, online transactions, and the economic use of digital tools prevents the community from fully benefiting from digital transformation. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were gathered from observations, reports, and relevant literature to examine digital literacy levels, economic conditions, barriers to digital transactions, and their relationship with community economic activities. The findings reveal that digitalization has begun to support local economic growth, particularly among MSMEs that employ digital platforms for marketing and business operations. However, challenges persist, including unstable internet access, low digital skills, concerns over privacy and fraud, and insufficient knowledge of digital financial services. These issues reduce public trust in adopting digital transactions. The study also demonstrates a positive relationship between higher levels of digital literacy and increased participation in digital economic activities. Individuals with stronger digital competencies tend to expand their market reach, improve operational efficiency, and unlock greater income opportunities. Overall, enhancing digital literacy is crucial for advancing economic empowerment in Situbondo. Continuous training, improved infrastructure, and targeted support for MSMEs are necessary to maximize the benefits of digital transformation and strengthen the region’s economic resilience.

Abstract

The halal industry in Indonesia plays a strategis role in supporting national economic growth, particulary in the food and beverage sector. Since the enactment of the Halal Product Assurance Law (UU JPH) in 2014, strengthening the halal system has been increasingly coordinated through the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH). The purpose of this study is to analyze the halal industry’s contribution to national economic growth and identify challenges and strategies for its development in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative method based on a literature review to examine the role of the halal industry in the national economy. The results indicate that the value of national halal product consumption is projected to reach US$282 billion by 2025, a 53% increase compared to 2020. The halal food and beverage sector makes the largest contribution to GDP through increased production, investment, and exports. Halal certification increases consumer trust and product competitiveness, although challenges remain in the certification process, infrastructure, and halal literacy. Strengthening the halal ecosystem through certification digitalization, islamic financing, and cross-sector collaboration are key strategies to make Indonesia a global center of the halal economy.

Abstract

The Jama’ah Muhammadiyah Movement and Jama’ah-based Da’wah represent an institutional manifestation of Islamic reform (tajdid) that seeks to integrate spiritual, rational, and social praxis dimensions. This study is motivated by the need to understand how Muhammadiyah develops a model of collective da’wah that is not merely normative or moralistic, but also functions as an instrument of social transformation within the context of modern society. The purpose of this study is to analyze the theological construction, social strategies, and epistemological implications of the Jama’ah Muhammadiyah Movement as a model of community-based da’wah. This study employs a library research approach using content analysis to examine religious texts, official Muhammadiyah documents, and the works of key Muhammadiyah figures. The findings indicate that Jama’ah-based da’wah in Muhammadiyah is grounded in the principle of amar ma‘ruf nahi munkar, contextualized through the spirit of tajdid and modern rationality. Da’wah is conceptualized not only as a religious activity but also as a transformative social process that encompasses the fields of education, health, economy, and humanitarian engagement. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of the epistemology of modern Islamic da’wah based on the jama’ah (collective) paradigm. Practically, it offers a model of progressive da’wah and social empowerment that is applicable and potentially replicable in a global context. These findings affirm Muhammadiyah’s relevance as a representation of moderate Islam oriented toward the formation of khairu ummah and the advancement of a just and universal civilization.
