Abstract

Sejak akhir tahun 2019 lalu hingga saat ini pandemi Covid-19 telah melanda seluruh dunia, tak terkecuali juga terjadi di Indonesia. Meluasnya penyebaran SARS-CoV 2 ini juga turut mempengaruhi perubahan dalam dunia pendidikan, dimana proses belajar secara tatap muka di ruang kelas yang biasa dilakukan berubah menjadi pertemuan belajar jarak jauh (distance learning), hal ini dilakukan untuk memperlambat penyebaran dan mendukung pemerintah dalam menekan angka kasus Covid-19. Sesuai dengan kebijakan pemerintah, kegiatan belajar, bekerja, beribadah dari dan di rumah harus benar-benar efektif dilakukan, serta proses belajar dari rumah dilakukan dengan proses daring atau jarak jauh dengan memanfaatkan teknologi informasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa penggunaan teknologi informasi dalam proses belajar mengajar jarak jauh di tengah pandemi Covid-19 pada Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh (UNMUHA). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan survei online, terdapat 12 informan Dosen dan 15 informan mahasiswa dari beberapa Fakultas di UNMUHA. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian dibagi menjadi beberapa tema, yaitu aplikasi pembelajaran daring, pengalaman pembelajaran daring, kendala dalam implementasi pembelajaran daring, peningkatan keterampilan dalam penggunaan aplikasi berbasis IT, keberlanjutan penggunaan E-learning dalam perkuliahan yang akan datang, dan pengalaman mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran daring. Secara keseluruhan hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh pada UNMUHA ditengah pandemi Covid-19. Proses belajar mengajar dapat berjalan baik dengan adanya teknologi informasi yang sudah berkembang pesat saat ini melalui berbagai aplikasi e-learning termasuk Google Classroom, Whatsapp, Zoom Meeting dan media lainnya dengan syarat adanya ketersediaan jaringan internet yang baik untuk menghubungkan dosen dan mahasiswa, sehingga proses belajar mengajar dapat dilaksanakan dengan baik pula sebagaimana mestinya di tengah pandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Tumor paru masih menjadi penyebab utama keganasan di dunia. Tumor paru merupakan pertumbuhan abnormal benjolan pada jaringan paru yang dapat bersifat jinak ataupun ganas. CT scan merupakan salah satu modalitas yang digunakan untuk mengevaluasi dan mendiagnosis kecurigaan tumor paru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran profil hasil pemeriksaan CT scan pasien tumor paru.Metode: Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi deskriptif retrospektif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di Bagian Radiologi RSUD Dr. Zainoel Abidin periode Juli 2018 – Oktober 2018. Data diperoleh dari hasil ekspertisi CT scan toraks dan kuisioner karakteristik responden. Didapatkan 66 kasus tumor paru yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi.Hasil: Berdasarkan diagnosis radiologis, ditemukan 66 kasus tumor paru, dimana sebagian besar pasien berjenis kelamin laki-laki (63,6%); dengan kelompok usia terbanyak pada usia 60-69 tahun (37,9%); merokok aktif meningkatkan faktor risiko pada tumor paru; pasien memiliki gejala klinis awal terbanyak nyeri dada dan sudah dalam stadium lanjut; lokasi tumor terbanyak adalah paru kanan; dan tulang merupakan lokasi metastasis terbanyak ditemukan pada kasus tumor paru penelitian ini.Simpulan: Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan umpan balik positif bagi manajemen tumor paru dan dapat digunakan sebagai dasar acuan untuk penelitian selanjutnya. Background: Lung tumor is still being the most common tumors in the world. Lung tumor is defined as the abnormal growth of lumps in lung tissue that might be benign or malignant. CT scan is one of the most appropriate modality to diagnose the supposition of lung tumors and evaluating the tumor itself. The purpose of this study is to identify the CT scan images of patients with a lung tumor.Method: The study was conducted by a retrospective descriptive design. In this study, sampling was performed at Radiology Department, Zinoel Abidin General Hospital, from July 2018 to October 2018. Data were obtained from the thorax CT scan examination request forms and questionnaire of respondent characteristics. There were 66 cases of lung tumors that met the inclusion criteria.Results: There were 66 cases (53.2%) of lung tumors based on the radiological diagnosis. Most of the cases were males (63.6%); the largest age group consisted of patients aged 60-69 (37.9%); active smoking was the most important risk factor of lung tumor; patients mostly came with chest pain as an early symptom and at the final stage of lung tumor; the most common site of lung tumor was right lung; bone was the most common site of metastatic site.Conclusion: This study can provide positive feedbacks in the whole management of lung tumor, and can be used as a basis for further research.

Abstract

The talent scouting process is fundamental in improving the performance of bicycle athletes. The selection process still focuses on prospective athletes' nutritional and fitness factors. The Indonesian Bicycle Sports Association of Banda Aceh City selects prospective bicycle sports athletes from an early age (adolescence) to be fostered in sustainability. The study measures the correlation between nutritional status (BMI) and fitness (standing board jump, vertical jump, and 30-meter sprint) in prospective bicycle sports athletes. The research design is Cross-sectional and has been carried out at the Indonesian Bicycle Sports Association (ISSI) Banda Aceh City 2021. Subjects of as many as 180 prospective athletes were taken by purposive random. Measuring nutritional status was measured by assessing BMI, while fitness was measured by standing board jump, vertical jump, and 30-meter sprint. Statistical analysis using Linear Regression test at CI: 95%. The results showed that there was a correlation between BMI and standing board jump (p= 0,000), BMI with a vertical jump (p= 0,004), and BMI with a 30-meter sprint (p = 0.000) in prospective bicycle athletes in Banda Aceh City. In conclusion, nutritional status (BMI) correlates with fitness (standing board jump, vertical jump and 30-meter sprint) in prospective bicycle athletes in Banda Aceh City.

Abstract

Age at menarche is strongly associated with adolescents' nutritional status. Food insecurity is one of the factors that cause nutritional disorders. Communities living in areas of armed conflict often experience food insecurity and low levels of parental knowledge, leading to being underweight and stunting. Aceh had been plagued by armed conflict for almost three decades, which ended 23 years ago. This study aimed to measure the relationship between menarche and the nutritional status of adolescents in Aceh Besar, Aceh Province. This analytical research method used a cross-sectional survey approach. The sample consisted of 278 Junior High School (JHS) students, taken by stratified random sampling at ten of the JHS in Aceh Besar in 2021-2022. Data were collected through interviews, using questionnaires, anthropometric measurements (Weight and Height), and observations. Statistical analysis used the Chi-square test at CI 95%. 79,1% of the students' menarche was normal, and 64,7% had normal nutritional status. There was a significant relationship between age at menarche and nutritional status (p<0,05). In conclusion, menarche's age is related to adolescent girls' nutritional status at Junior High School in Aceh Besar.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of learning interest and learning motivation on the academic achievement of medical and health faculty students at Imelda University, Medan. Using a quantitative approach, this research involved 100 medical and health faculty students as respondents taken using a purposive sampling method. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire that measures interest and motivation to learn using a Likert scale. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression. The research results show that interest in learning and motivation to learn significantly influence student academic achievement, with interest in learning having a regression coefficient of 0.45 and motivation to learn of 0.38. This research emphasizes the importance of developing interest and motivation to learn in supporting the academic achievement of medical and health students, so that educational institutions are advised to implement learning strategies that can improve these two aspects

Abstract

This community service aims to increase students' awareness, understanding, and skills in maintaining mental health through education and counseling programs. Student life is often filled with academic, social, and adaptable pressures to a new environment that can trigger mental health problems such as stress, anxiety, and depression. The program includes seminars, workshops, and counseling sessions held at several colleges with a focus on introducing the importance of mental health, coping techniques, and appropriate psychological support. This activity involves students' active participation in discussions, role-plays, and simulations, which helps them better understand how to manage emotions and seek help when facing problems. The evaluation of the program showed an increase in students' knowledge and skills in dealing with mental health problems, as well as an increase in the number of students willing to access counseling services. Through this activity, it is hoped that a campus environment that is more supportive of mental health and reduces the stigma of seeking professional help.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the frequency of independent anatomy study and anatomy block exam results among undergraduate medical students. The data analysis revealed a positive and significant correlation between the two variables, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of r = 0.684, indicating a strong relationship. Furthermore, the simple linear regression analysis showed that each increase in the level of independent study frequency contributed to a 4.82-point increase in the anatomy block exam score. These findings suggest that the more frequently students engage in independent anatomy study, the more likely they are to achieve better academic outcomes in anatomy courses

Abstract

Modern medical education demands students master a vast amount of information within a relatively short period. Effective note-taking strategies play a crucial role in the learning process and information retention. Two commonly used note-taking methods are linear notes and mind mapping. While mind mapping is claimed to enhance understanding and memory through visualization and association, its comparative effectiveness with linear notes on block exam performance among medical students still requires further exploration with strong empirical evidence. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of using mind mapping and linear note-taking on the block exam performance of medical students. This study employs a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach on two non-randomized groups. Participants were second-semester medical students at Universitas Imelda Medan undergoing a respiratory system block. The intervention group was trained and instructed to use mind mapping during self-study, while the control group used linear note-taking as usual. Block exam performance data were collected and statistically analyzed using comparative tests such as independent t-tests or ANOVA to control for initial confounding variables. The study found that the group utilizing mind mapping had statistically significantly higher block exam scores compared to the group using linear notes (p<0.05). Further analysis revealed improved information retention and conceptual understanding in the mind mapping group. The use of mind mapping note-taking proved more effective in improving the block exam performance of medical students compared to linear notes. These findings indicate the potential of mind mapping as a recommended learning strategy in the medical education curriculum.
