Abstract

Abstract

This study aims was to determine the characteristics of citrus plants basedon theirmorphology and anatomy of leafat Dodaand Lempe Villages, Lore Tengah District-Poso Regency. The observation of morphologywas conducted in the field in both villages, while the anatomical observation was conducted at Science and Seed TechnologyLaboratory and Pest and Disease Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Tadulako University from October to November2015.The morphology variable observed was the shape and color of the trunk, branching form, canopy, canopydiameter, trunk surface, leaf adges and ends shape, leaf symmetry, flus color, leaf upper and upper and lower surface, leaf mesophyl, leaf size, petiole shape and length. The anatomy consist of density and stomata index. The result showed that morphology and anatomy characteristics observed based on cluster analysis drawn in the shape of dendogram. The results of cluster analysis was obtained that the citrus in both villages has two or three accessions, this initial finding can be used later to discover good quality of citrus seedling. Keywords: Citrus Anatomy, Dendogram, and Morphology.

Abstract

The aims of this experiment were to obtain the effective and efficient concentrations of two kinds of plant extracts applied in single or in combination on the mortality of Spodoptera exiqua larva and to determine the LC50 value. This experiment used completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments, namely A (K1 = 0.25%), B (K2 = 0.50%), C (K3 = 0.75%), D (K4 = 1.00%) and E (K5 = 1.25%) and each treatment was replicated 3 times. Larva used was instar 3. Results of this experiment showed that in a single test of Sidondo plant (Vitex negundo L.) extract, the concentration of 1% was effective with the LC50 value at 0.10% and mortality reached 83.33%; and Patah Tulang (Euphorbia tirucalli) extract, the concentration of 1% was also effective with the LC50 value at 0.08% and mortality was upto 83.33%. Combination of Sidondo and Patah Tulang plant extracts with 0.50% each was an effective concentration with LC50 value at 0.09% and mortality of Spodoptera exigua larvae at 48 hours after application reached 83.33%.Key Words: Euphorbia tirucalli, Land, Spodoptera exigua, Viteks negundo.

Abstract

Rice is the most important food crop in Indonesia, as more than half of populations inIndonesia depends their life on rice produced from rice plants. This research aims to determine the intensity of white rice stem boreron thetwo different places, namely the plateau in the Sejahtra village, Palolo Subdistrict at an altitude of 592 meters above the sea (masl), and the lowland area in Lolu village, Sigi Biromaru Subdistrict, Sigi Regency at an altitude of 171 (masl). Whereas its usefulness is to compare the level of attacks that occur in the field by white rice stem borer. This research was conducted in the rice cultivation area at two different places altitudes and the implementation time from April to July 2016. The research was conducted with the survey method, observation and execution of research. The variable of observation namely, 1) The intensity of S.innotata pests. 2) The number of pest eggs S.innotata group and 3)The types and the numbers of parasitoids. Therw is the difference in the intensity of S.innotata attacks in two areas in different heights. Attacks on Oloboju are higher (35%) while attacks on Sejahtera are lower (10%) and there are three species of parasitoid in the S.innotata'segg, they are parasitoid of Telenomus, sp., Tetrastichus, sp.,and Trichogramma, sp.Telenomus, sp. More dominant to of fendin Oloboju while, sp. More dominant to of fendin Sejahtera.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the diversity and the evenness ofinsects as well as the production of soybean plants (Glycine max L.) sprayed with and withoutinsecticide. This research was conducted in March to July 2016 and located in Sidera village, Sigi Biromaru  , Central Sulawesi province. The identification of the insects was done at the Plant Pests and Diseases Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture of Tadulako University. The number of families and species of the insects was not affected by the insecticide sprayed but on their individual number.  The diversity of the insects under the soybean plantation both sprayed and un-sprayed was categorically moderate.  However, the spraying could increase the production up to 3 t/ha compared to the non-spraying which was only2.21 t/ha.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the resistance of several genotype of local Banggai rice crop to brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens Stall). This research was carried out at the screen house of pest and diseases plant Laboratory Agriculture Faculty Tadulako University, Palu,on September 2014 to January 2015. Four genotypes of local Banggai rice plant (Njengi, Habo, Ranta and Sampara), were tested  that performed, there are three genotypes (Njengi, Ranta, and Sampara) moderately resistantto brown planthopper, and one genotype (Habo),was  categories of moderately susceptibleto brown planthopper. The highest damage level was shown by genotype Habo ( 65 % ), and the lowest were Njengi and Sampara genotype ( 59 % ).
