Abstract

Rasamala (Altingia excelsa Noronha) is one of the primary species in Halimun Salak Mountain National Park that grows in the lower mountain forests. In addition to the value of conservation, almost all parts of rasamala species can be utilized such as wood, leaves, fruit, and the canopy as a bird habitat. Information of natural distribution and habitat of rasamala are needed for conservation and cultivation purposes. The objectives of this research are to identify the distribution pattern and habitat characteristics of rasamala in  Halimun Salak Mountain National Park. Research was done by make square plots with 30x30 m2 size that spread in the area of Halimun Montain 15 plots and Salak Mountain 15 plots. The analysis used morisita index to know the distribution pattern of rasamala and linear regression analysis to determine the influence of environmental factors. The result showed that distribution pattern of rasamala was clumped. Environmental factors that affect the existence of rasamala encompass altitude above sea level, slope, temperature, humidity, soil C-organic content, and N-total where the most influential factor is the N-total content of the soil. F test results on regression showed that the variables tested in Resort Cikaniki simultaneously had no significant effect on rasamala density, while the variables tested at Kawah Ratu Resort had significant effect on rasamala density

Abstract

Sistem stek merupakan sistem perbanyakan tanaman yang relatif sederhana dan menghasilkan bahan tanaman yang berkualitas baik dengan karakteristik yang sama dengan induknya dan membutuhkan waktu yang lebih singkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan persentase stek hidup Cratoxylon arborescens dan mempelajari pengaruh zat pengatur tumbuh IBA 100 ppm, NAA 100 ppm dan IBA 50 ppm+NAA 50 ppm terhadap pertumbuhan stek pucuk Cratoxylon arborescens. Materi yang digunakan adalah pucuk bibit Cratoxylon arborescens dengan tinggi <1–1,5 m, IBA 100 ppm, NAA 100 ppm, IBA 50 ppm+NAA 50 ppm, dan alkohol 70% dengan media berupa cocopeat, sekam dan vermikulit. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan yaitu IBA 100 ppm, NAA 100 ppm, IBA 50 ppm+NAA 50 ppm, dan kontrol. Setiap perlakuan terdiri dari 3 ulangan (masing-masing 50 stek). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase pertumbuhan stek hidup Cratoxylon arborescens berkisar antara 51,11–70,37%. Perlakuan tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap lima parameter yaitu persentase stek hidup, panjang stek, berat basah akar, berat kering akar, dan berat kering pucuk. Namun pengaruh nyata ditunjukkan pada jumlah akar dan berat basah pucuk. Uji jarak berganda Duncan yang dilakukan untuk jumlah akar dan NAA 100 ppm menunjukkan pengaruh yang lebih baik daripada kontrol, sedangkan untuk berat basah pucuk pada IBA 100 ppm memiliki pengaruh yang sama dengan kontrol. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah persentase hidup stek Cratoxylon arborescens mencapai 70,37% dan penggunaan NAA 100 ppm dapat meningkatkan jumlah akar. Abstract

Krangean (Litsea cubeba Lour) adalah salah satu jenis yang mendiami wilayah Gunung Slamet yang hampir semua bagian pohon krangean berpotensi sebagai penghasil minyak atsiri. Kondisi permudaan jenis ini di alam sulit di temukan sehingga diperlukan informasi mengenai preferensi ekologi yang tepat guna tujuan budidaya dan konservasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi komposisi dan struktur tegakan, pola sebaran, karakteristik habitat, dan regenerasi krangean (L. cubeba) di hutan lindung Gunung Slamet. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis vegetasi dengan membuat plot berukuran 30 m × 30 m sebanyak 18 plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pola persebaran krangean cenderung mengelompok (clump) dan kondisi regenerasi yang buruk karena hanya ditemukan pada tingkat tiang dan pohon. Kondisi habitat L. cubeba di Gunung Slamet berada pada ketinggian 1018-2032 mdpl dengan kelerengan curam hingga sangat curam (30 - 59,10%), suhu mulai 11℃ hingga 22,5℃, dan kelembaban 74 - 92%. Jenis tanah yang teramati adalah jenis tanah latosol dengan kategori pH agak masam. Faktor lingkungan yang diujikan tidak berpengaruh nyata pada luas bidang dasar (LBDS) krangean dengan R2 sebesar 55,37%.

Abstract

Savanna is the icon of Baluran National Park. The endemic species of Bekol Savana is bekol or bidara (Ziziphus mauritiana Lamk.). Emerge complication instant exotic like Acacia nilotica spread in Savanna for nature fire burning partition plant. Growth of A. nilotica is invasive so can be change nature conditition of savanna. The goals are to know composition structure and pattern distribution of Z. mauritiana in raise savanna and invasive savanna. Examination did with rectangular plot of analisis vegetation as purposive sampling in wide 20 m x 60 m in 10 plot each location. The result shows the structure in raise savanna is opened area and have density of grass is abundant than density tree is low and the invasive savanna is change to be closed A. nilotica forest. Density of Z. mauritiana in raise savanna is more which 3 364/ind/ha than invasive savanna is 260 ind/ha. Pattern distribution of Z. mauritiana in Bekol Savanna is clumped. Biofisic factors can be straddling of Z. mauritiana are open area, clay loam teksture, alkaline pH and arid season. Abstract

Quercus sundaica (Q. sundaica), commonly known as Pasang, is a Fagaceae family member with a significant ecological and economic contribution to Indonesia. This research aimed to examine the abundance, distribution pattern, and physical growth environment of Q. sundaica. The data collection occurred in KRB (Baturraden Botanical Garden) and P7 (Pancuran 7) in the montane and sub-montane zones. The data analysis included vegetation and soil analysis. The KRB track in the montane zone had the highest Importance Value Index (IVI) with a higher density than the KP7 track.

Abstract

Protected area in plantation forest should be managed properly in order to sustainable development. One of the initial steps of the protected area management is by knowing the level of plant diversity which composing the community of its vegetation. The aim of this research is to measure plant diversity in protected area of IUPHHK-HT PT. Wana Hijau Pesaguan in Province West Kalimantan. Vegetation analysis is done at riverbanks, slope area more than 40% and conservation area of biodiversity. The result is that there are found 295 species of plants consisting 222 trees, 32 under storey plants, 38 lianas and 3 epiphytes. Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H’) values of trees with anystage of growth are about 3.02–4.41, which classified as high level of diversity. Under storey plants and lianas have H’ values about 1.00-3.22 which classified as mid level diversity. The diversity level of epiphytes are low to mid, with H’ values 0-1.04. Similarity Index value between all locations are low (less than 75%) except for epiphytes, which only in conservation area of biodiversity had different epiphytes composition comparing to the other sites. Abstract

The success of peat swamp ecosystem restoration needs to be supported by the supply of good quality native plant species, one of which is influenced by the growing media. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of cocopeat, compost, and biochar as a mixture of peat media on the growth of Dyera polyphylla and Shorea balangeran seedlings in a greenhouse for six months. The experiment was carried out using a completely randomized design with one factor, growing media (100% peat as M1 (control); 70% peat + 30% cocopeat as M2; 70% peat + 30% compost as M3; and 70% peat + biochar 30% as M4). The survival rate of both types of seedlings in all growing media treatments was 100%. Dickson Quality Index (DQI) of D. polyphylla seedlings on M1, M2, M3, and M4 was 0.32, 0.29, 0.46, and 0.31, respectively, and for S. balangeran was 0.15, 0.10, 0.09, and 0.12, respectively. Adding cocopeat, compost, and biochar could increase the nutrient content of peat media. The growing media with the best quality for D. polyphylla was M3, while for S. balangeran was M1. Abstract

Menurut Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 5 Tahun 1990, Taman Hutan Raya adalah kawasan pelestarian alam untuk tujuan koleksi tumbuhan dan atau satwa yang alami atau buatan. Komposisi dan struktur tegakan dapat digunakan untuk memperkirakan kepadatan pohon pada berbagai kelas diameter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi dan struktur vegetasi yang terdapat pada blok kawasan pemanfaatan, perlindungan, dan koleksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari sampai Februari 2021 di Taman Hutan Raya Dr. Moh. Hatta Padang, Sumatera Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis yang dominan di blok kawasan perlindungan terdapat pada tingkat pohon adalah Glochidion obscurum. Pada blok kawasan pemanfaatan jenis dominan adalah Pinus merkusii, kemudian pada blok kawasan koleksi didominasi jenis Swietenia macrophylla. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman jenis (H') pada ketiga blok kawasan tersebut tergolong sedang dengan nilai H' antara 1-2. Sementara, nilai indeks kekayaan jenis tergolong rendah dengan nilai R1 < 3,5. Hasilnya ditemukan bahwa pola sebaran spesies bersifat mengelompok. Stratifikasi tajuk di Taman Hutan Raya Dr. Moh. Hatta berada pada stratum B dan C. Abstract

Tumih (Combretocarpus rotundatus (Miq.) Danser) is one of the local species recommended for disturbed peatland rehabilitation activities. This species can be classified as a fast-growing and tolerant type to dry and open conditions. The aim of this study is to identify the success of explant preparation techniques and tumih explant sterilization seen from the survival rate, contamination level, and browning level. The research was conducted at the Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory, Environmental Research Center (PPLH), IPB. The plant material used was tumih shoots that were sterilized using detergent, HgCl2, Clorox, and rinsed with sterile water. The explants were initiated on MS media with the addition of BAP, namely 0 ml/l; 0.5 ml/l; 1 ml/l; and 1.5 ml/l, and TDZ, namely 0 ml/l; 0.05 ml/l; 0.1 ml/l; and 0.5 ml/l. This study used 16 treatments with 7 replications. The results showed that the average survival rate percentage of tumih explants reached 22.32%, fungal contamination was 57.14%, bacterial contamination was 1.79%, and the average browning percentage in the explants was 18.75%. The preliminary study that has been carried out is categorized as successful, with 25 explants still maintaining green leaves and stems

Abstract

According to Law No. 5 of 1990 Grand Forest parks are conservation forests that function as nature conservation areas for the purpose of collecting natural and non-natural plants and animals, which are used for research, science, education that support cultivation, culture, tourism and recreation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the composition and structure of the stands in TAHURA Wan Abdul Rachman, Lampung in protection blocks, utilization blocks and collection blocks. The results of this study indicate that the number of species in the collection block is higher than the utilization and protection block. The species that dominated the three research blocks were Dalbergia latifolia, Durio zibethinus, and Tristaniopsis merguensis. The index value of species diversity (H') in the three blocks at the level of seedlings, saplings, poles and trees is in the medium criteria with a value of H'> 2, while the richness index is in the low category. Stratification of Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman's crown is in stratum B and C. Keywords: composition, dominant index, dominant species, vegetation structure, weath index
