Abstract

This community service activity aims to raise awareness and foster a culture of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) among workers in the palm oil plantation sector. The program was implemented at PT X, South Kalimantan, targeting field workers in high-risk units. The implementation method employed an interactive and applied educational approach through five stages: preparation, pre-test, educational intervention, post-test, and evaluation. The training was delivered face-to-face through lectures, discussions, and Q&A sessions. The evaluation used pre-and post-test questionnaires to assess participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding OSH. The results showed an increase in the average score from 75.47 to 82.97, with 71.8% of participants showing improvement. However, 21.8% experienced a decrease in scores, indicating a persistent knowledge-behavior gap influenced by limited education and inaccurate perceptions. Follow-up training is needed using contextual approaches and simple, easy-to-understand educational media. Company management is also encouraged to act actively as role models in fostering a sustainable workplace safety culture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak kerja shift terhadap kesehatan reproduksi tenaga kesehatan wanita, dengan fokus utama pada prevalensi gangguan siklus menstruasi. Tinjauan sistematis dilakukan berdasarkan pedoman PRISMA dengan menelusuri artikel dari database PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, dan Scopus untuk periode 2020–2025. Sebanyak 14 studi observasional dan meta- analisis yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi gangguan menstruasi lebih tinggi pada tenaga kesehatan wanita yang bekerja shift dibandingkan dengan non-shift, yaitu berkisar antara 31,5% hingga 60,2%. Gangguan yang paling sering dilaporkan adalah siklus menstruasi tidak teratur, dismenore, dan menopause dini. Peningkatan prevalensi ini berkaitan erat dengan gangguan ritme sirkadian, stres kerja, dan perubahan hormonal akibat pola kerja yang tidak teratur. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kerja shift merupakan faktor risiko signifikan terhadap gangguan siklus menstruasi pada pekerja wanita, sehingga diperlukan kebijakan dan intervensi preventif di lingkungan kerja.

Abstract

Background: Work-related stress is a common issue among nurses and can affect their performance, quality of care, and psychological well-being. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between age, gender, and length of service with work-related stress levels among nurses at a hospital in Banjarbaru City.Methods: A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was used. The sample consisted of 120 nurses at a hospital in Banjarbaru City selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), which has been validated in previous studies with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.82. Data were analysed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 0.05.Results: The results showed no significant relationship between age (p=0.298), gender (p=0.397), and length of service (p=0.581) and the level of work-related stress. However, descriptive results indicated a higher proportion of stress among nurses who were female, younger, and had longer work experience.Conclusion: It is recommended that hospital management focus more on workload, work environment, and psychosocial support rather than individual demographic factors in managing work stress.

Abstract

Abstrak Penyakit hipertensi termasuk permasalahan kesehatan global yang seringkali tidak disadari oleh penderitanya sehingga disebut sebagai "silent killer". Di Desa Tiwingan Lama RT 02, Kecamatan Aranio, Kabupaten Banjar, prevalensi hipertensi cukup tinggi, dengan 26 dari 131 orang didiagnosis menderita hipertensi. Program ini mempunyai tujuan meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai hipertensi melalui penyuluhan dan pembentukan komunitas siaga hipertensi. Pelaksanaan program dilaksanakan pada 6 Juli hingga 3 Agustus 2023, dengan metode penyuluhan dan diskusi, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Partisipasi melibatkan 19 warga, dengan 10 di antaranya menjadi kader komunitas. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat, Hasil post-test menunjukkan rata-rata 93,68, jauh lebih tinggi dibandingkan pre-test dengan rata-rata 76,31. Pembentukan komunitas siaga hipertensi diharapkan bisa berperan dalam edukasi dan pemantauan tekanan darah secara rutin. Selain itu, komunitas ini diharapkan mampu memberikan dukungan berkelanjutan bagi pencegahan komplikasi terkait hipertensi. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dan memberikan dasar yang kuat untuk pencegahan dan penanganan hipertensi. Dukungan dari berbagai pihak, termasuk lembaga pemerintah dan organisasi non-profit, sangat diperlukan untuk keberlanjutan program ini. Kata kunci: penyuluhan; hipertensi; komunitas; pemantauan; pemberdayaan. Abstract The "silent killer," hypertension, is a prevalent global health threat that often progresses without any warning signs. In Tiwingan Lama Village RT 02, Aranio District, Banjar Regency, hypertension prevalence is notably high, with 26 out of 131 individuals diagnosed. This program aimed to raise awareness and knowledge about hypertension through education and the formation of a hypertension alert community. The program was conducted from July 6 to August 3, 2023, using lectures and discussions, with evaluations via pre-tests and post-tests. Nineteen residents participated, with ten becoming community cadres. Participants demonstrated a significant knowledge gain, scoring an average of 93.68 on the post-test compared to 76.31 on the pre-test. The establishment of the hypertension alert community is expected to influence education and regular arterial blood pressure monitoring. This community should also offer continuous help to prevent health problems caused by high blood pressure. This program successfully raised community awareness and provided a strong foundation for the prevention and management of hypertension. Support from various sectors, including non-profit organizations and government agencies, is crucial for the program's sustainability. Keywords: hypertension; extension; community; monitoring; empowerment.

Abstract

AbstrakPermasalahan utama yang ditemukan di Desa Tajau Landung adalah penggunaan air sungai sebagai sumber utama air bersih yang tidak memenuhi baku mutu kualitas air, sehingga berisiko terhadap kesehatan masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan masyarakat dalam mengatasi masalah yang teridentifikasi pada Pengalaman Belajar Lapangan (PBL) I, yaitu kesulitan masyarakat mengakses air bersih untuk penggunaan sehari-hari akibat kualitas air sungai dan PAMSIMAS yang tidak memenuhi standar air bersih. Sasaran program ini mencakup seluruh warga  RT 01 dan 03 di Desa Tajau Landung, Kabupaten Banjar, Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan.. Adapun program pemberdayaan masyarakat ini dihadiri oleh 17 orang yang terdiri dari calon kader, masyarakat biasa dan aparat desa. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah, diskusi, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan praktik langsung dengan demonstrasi pembuatan alat yang digunakan dalam sesi pelatihan kader. Intervensi dilakukan melalui penyuluhan tentang risiko air tercemar dan pelatihan pembuatan filter air bertingkat sederhana, serta kaderisasi masyarakat sebagai agen perubahan. Hasil program ini menunjukkan lebih dari 94% peserta mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan dengan nilai rata-rata n-gain sebesar 63,72%. Hasil pelatihan menunjukan 100% kader terampil dalam melakukan pembuatan dan penggunaan filter air dengan skor 4 dan kategori sangat baik. Dampak positif terlihat dari meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pengolahan air sebelum digunakan dan upaya untuk menjaga kualitas lingkungan secara mandiri. Intervensi ini menunjukkan keberhasilan dalam meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat dalam pengelolaan air bersih serta memperkuat keberlanjutan program melalui pelibatan aktif kader lokal. Kata kunci: filter air sederhana; pemberdayaan masyarakat; pencemaran air sungai AbstractThe main problem found in Tajau Landung Village is the use of river water as the main source of clean water that does not meet water quality standards, thus posing a risk to public health. This community service activity aims to improve community knowledge and skills in overcoming problems identified in Field Learning Experience (PBL) I, namely the difficulty of the community in accessing clean water for daily use due to the quality of river water and PAMSIMAS that do not meet clean water standards. The target of this program includes residents of RT 01 and 03 in Tajau Landung Village, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. This community empowerment program was attended by 17 people consisting of prospective cadres, ordinary people and village officials. The methods used in this activity were lectures, discussions, Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and direct practice with demonstrations of making tools used in cadre training sessions. The intervention was carried out through counseling on the risks of polluted water and training on making simple multi-level water filters, as well as community cadre formation as agents of change. The results of this program showed that more than 94% of participants experienced an increase in knowledge with an average n-gain value of 63.72%. The training results showed that 100% of cadres were skilled in making and using water filters with a score of 4 and a very good category. The positive impact was seen from the increasing public awareness of the importance of water treatment before use and efforts to maintain environmental quality independently. This intervention demonstrated success in increasing community capacity in clean water management and strengthening the sustainability of the program through the active involvement of local cadres. Keywords: simple water filter; community empowerment; river water pollution
