Abstract

Poverty, which is still a challenge in Central Java, has a worrying impact on various aspects of people's lives. This research aims to determine the influence of the Human Development Index (HDI), Open Unemployment Rate (TPT), Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), and Labor Force Participation (PAK) on the poverty level in each district/city. in Central Java. The research method used is the use of panel data (time series and cross section) in 35 districts/cities in Central Java during the 2017-2022 period, by applying the Random Effect Model (REM). Research findings show that the Human Development Index (HDI) has a significant negative impact on poverty levels. On the other hand, the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) has a positive and significant effect on the poverty level, while the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) makes a negative and significant contribution. However, Labor Force Participation (PAK) has not been proven to have a significant influence on poverty levels in districts/cities in Central Java.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of liquidity in promoting patent-based innovation in the 10 countries with the highest innovation rates during the period 2012-2021. Using secondary data from the World Development Indicators (WDI), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS), this study applies panel data regression method with Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) approach to identify the influence of economic variables on the number of patents. The independent variables analyzed include equity x high technology, credit x high technology, industrial value added, exports, and liquidity. The results show that high-tech-based equity and credit have a significant influence on increasing the number of patents, while exports and liquidity do not show a meaningful influence. Value-added was also shown to have a significant contribution to innovation. These findings indicate that funding stability and long-term investment in research and development (R&D) determine innovation success more than the level of liquidity of the firm. Therefore, government policies and funding strategies should focus on improving access to high-tech-based financing as well as incentivizing R&D activities to foster a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Abstract

This study uses the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) method to analyze the exchange rate relationship with GDP, remittances, investment, and inflation in Indonesia for the period 2011Q1-2023Q4. The study aims to separate the short-run and long-run effects and uses variance decomposition to identify the contribution of each variable to the exchange rate. The analysis shows that investment has a significant effect on the exchange rate in the long run, while GDP, remittances, and inflation have no significant impact. In the short run, investment shows a negative impact on the exchange rate, reflecting its sensitivity to market dynamics. Moreover, variance decomposition reveals that the exchange rate variable itself becomes the dominant factor in exchange rate movements, followed by investment. This study supports the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) theory by highlighting the importance of investment in maintaining exchange rate stability. The results are expected to serve as a reference for policy makers in designing effective exchange rate management strategiesPenelitian ini menggunakan metode Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) untuk menganalisis hubungan nilai tukar dengan GDP, remitansi, investasi, dan inflasi di Indonesia pada periode 2011Q1-2023Q4.

Abstract

Abstract

Urban waste management issues require innovative solutions that involve active community participation. The Waste Bank program emerges as a community-based waste management initiative that adopts a banking system to provide economic value to sorted waste. This community service activity aims to increase the understanding and awareness of residents in RW 2, Wates Village, Magelang City regarding the concept, mechanism, and benefits of the Waste Bank. The implementa tion methods include socialization, education, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments to measure the improvement in public knowledge. The results show that the Waste Bank program provides three main benefits: economic benefits through additional income, improved discipline in waste management, and the creation of a clean and healthy residential environment. The success of the program is reflected in the increased public awareness of the importance of waste sorting at its source and the active participation of residents in sustainable waste management. This program contributes to the principles of 4R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recovery/Replace) to establish an environmentally friendly and sustainable waste management cycle.

Abstract

This study focuses on income disparity and economic growth in the Yogyakarta Special Region. The area's slow economic expansion contributes to persistent income inequality. Using variables such as population, economic growth, district/city minimum wage, inflation, open unemployment rate, and income inequality, this study investigates the relationship between economic growth and income disparity. A quantitative approach is employed using panel data regression and Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) on secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The results show that district minimum wage and open unemployment rate significantly and positively affect income inequality, while inflation, economic growth, and population size have no significant effect. These findings imply that inclusive development policies, equitable job creation, and wage regulations that consider the informal sector are essential for reducing regional income disparities in Yogyakarta.
