Abstract

Educational quality is a key element in creating excellent and competitive educational institutions, including madrasahs. Madrasah principals play a strategic role in designing quality policies, conducting supervision, and ensuring the continuity of quality educational processes. This study aims to analyze the role of madrasah principals in controlling and supervising educational quality at MTs Darul Ulum Islamic School Sleman, a pesantren-based madrasah that was newly established in 2021 but has shown significant development. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Informants were selected purposively, consisting of the madrasah principal, teachers, administrative staff, and foundation administrators. The results of the study indicate that the madrasah principal plays a role in setting quality standards, conducting periodic evaluations, and mentoring teachers through participatory supervision. However, there are still challenges in quality documentation, limitations in follow-up on evaluation results, and uneven leadership distribution. This study contributes to the development of a madrasah leadership model that integrates Islamic values, modern quality management principles, and sustainable institutional systems within the context of Islamic education.

Abstract

Infectious diseases remain a major issue in tropical countries such as Indonesia. Infectious diseases can be caused by pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungi. Development of antibacterial agents from natural sources is essential to combat the growing issue of antibiotic resistance. One potential plant is black cumin seed (Nigella sativa L.) contains thymoquinone, a compound known for its antibacterial properties. In addition to thymoquinone, the essential oil of black cumin contains thymol, carvacrol, and p-cymene, along with metabolites such as alkaloids, saponins, and tannins. This study aimed to investigate the antibacterial activity of black cumin seed oil (Nigella sativa L.) against Extended Spectrum ?-lactamase-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli ESBL). The antibacterial test in this study used the disc diffusion method at various concentrations, including 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%. The extract was obtained by distillation, using pure water as the solvent. The test groups included a negative control, positive control using chloramphenicol, and negative control using pure water. The results of the antibacterial activity test showed that the positive control produced an average inhibition zone of 25 mm, classified as susceptible, whereas the negative control showed no inhibition zone (0 mm). At 100% concentration, the inhibition zone averaged 18,67 mm, at 75% it averaged 16 mm, at 50% it averaged 11,67 mm, and at 25%, the inhibition zone averaged 6,67 mm. The three lower concentrations were categorized as resistant.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Menurut Survei Status Gizi Indoesia (SSGI) dalam Kementrian kesehatan RI 2022 tercatat mengenai data stunting pada tahun 2022 sebesar 21,6% namun, angka stunting di Indonesia masih cukup mengingat pada tahun 2018 sebesar 30,8% yang telah mengalami pemurunan juga padda tahun 24,4%. Dalam Praturan Presiden RI 2021 tentang perencanan target penurunan angka stunting menjadi14% pada tahun 2024. Adapun tujuan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang pola makan seimbang serta memahami pentingnya menjaga pola makan seimbang pada anak. Metode yang digunakan one group pretest posttest dengan pemilihan subjek secara random namun tidak memiliki control group atau comparison group. Didapatkan hasil pengabdian berupa peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap pentingnya kebutuhan asupan gizi seimbang dengan penjabaran semboyan “4 pilar gizi seimbang”, “tumpeng gizi” dan “isi piringku”. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini berupa tercapainya peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai fusngi gizi dan makanan seimbang edan mengetahui ciri makanan yang tidak sehat beserta dampaknya. Kata kunci: Pengetahuan, gizi seimbang, makanan, tumpeng gizi, isi piringku
