Abstract

Education aims to optimally develop the human potential possessed by individuals. The art of " karungut" is a traditional art form of the Dayak Ngaju, through vocal performance. This research to analyze and describe the content of the "karungut" that can be utilized to strengthen the socio-emotional education of students in Palangka Raya. The research method used is qualitative with a case study. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The respondents of the research consisted of 3 “karungut” artists, 6 elementary school teachers, and 10 students. The data analysis used was the interactive analysis. The results showed that “karungut” contains the following aspects: (1) self-awareness skills (10%), (2) emotion management skills (20%), (3) empathy skills (20%), (4) relationship management skills (40%), and (5) responsible decision-making skills (10%). In conclusion, "karungut" is a part of the local culture of the Dayak  that can be utilized to strengthen socio-emotional education.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the principal's subjective experience in internalizing Handep values which include harmony, adaptation, reason, dedication, efficiency and unity based on the Huma Betang philosophy of the Dayak people in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The philosophy of Huma Betang, as a symbol of longhouses symbolizing communal living, mutual assistance and social balance. Using an interpretive phenomenology approach, this research was carried out at SD Negeri 2 Palangka. Data were collected through semi-structural in-depth interviews recorded and transcribed, supplemented by participant observation in the school environment. Data analysis was carried out thematically with source triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal that the experience of internalizing Handep not only enriches leadership identity, but also creates an inclusive school climate. Recommendations include the integration of the Huma Betang philosophy in the national leadership curriculum to support continuing education.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine " The Principal's Strategy Based on the Noble Values of the Huma Betang Philosophy in Improving Teacher Performance at Palangka 2 Public Elementary School ". The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The research subjects were the principal, vice principal, teachers, and supervisors. The results show: 1) The principal's strategy in improving teacher abilities is based on the Huma Betang philosophy through developing teacher abilities in the learning process, 2) The principal's strategy in improving teacher discipline is: a) Enforcing teacher discipline, b) Increasing teacher behavior standards, c) Implementing all regulations, 3) The principal's strategy in improving teacher motivation is to create a harmonious situation, provide all necessary equipment and provide rewards and punishments, 4) The principal's strategy in increasing teacher commitment is: holding training, bringing tutors to the school and providing opportunities for continuing education, placing teachers according to their fields, and holding meetings at the beginning of each semester.
