Abstract

Kulit buah Markisa konyal (Passiflora lingularis f. lobalata) merupakan limbah makanan yang tidak dimanfaatkan lagi namun mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu flavonoid dan fenol yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar fenolat total dan aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol kulit buah markisah konyal. Penentuan kadar fenolat total menggunakan metode Folin-Ciocalteu dan uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH. Larutan baku standar yang digunakan adalah asam galat. Hasil penetapan kadar fenolat total ekstrak etanol kulit buah markisa konyal adalah sebesar 79,37 mg/g. Penentuan aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan pada λmax 520 nm didapatkan nilai IC50 asam galat sebagai pembanding sebesar 4,179 μg/mL dengan kategori sangat kuat. Nilai IC50 ekstrak kulit buah markisa konyal sebesar 53,34 μg/mL dengan kategori kuat sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai sumber atioksidan dari bahan alam.

Abstract

Squid ink (Loligosp) is still considered a waste and has not been widely used as a food ingredient. This study aims to determine the protein content of squid ink tested using the Kjedahl method and the level of iron (Fe) using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry with air-acetylene flame at a wavelength of 248.3nm. The squid ink used is obtained from the South Coast. Qualitative testing of protein was carried out using the biuret, ninhydrin, and xanthoprotein tests which showed positive results. In the test, iron was reacted with NH4OH to form a reddish-brown precipitate which indicated that it was positive for Fe. From the measurements obtained protein content of 14.0733% and Fe content of 3.8 g/g. This protein and iron content can be used to meet daily protein and iron needs so that squid ink can be used as a food intake

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the determination of antioxidant activity in vitro on rambutan bark with experimental methods. The ethyl acetate fraction was obtained from the ethanol extraction of the rambutan bark from maceration. The formula was made by varying the concentration of 3 fractions, namely F0 without fraction, F1 (1%), F2 (1.5%), and F3 (2%) with organoleptic test parameters, each formula was in the form of a semi-solid, distinctive odor and different color. -different in white F0, orange F1, light brown F2 and brown F3. Homogeneity test on each homogeneous formula, viscosity test results obtained 2840cP, 2825cP, 2815cP, 2810cP for F0, F1, F2 and F3 respectively. The washing power test was found to be 32mL; 32.1mL; 30.5mL; 27.1mL for F0, F1, F2 and F3 respectively. The cream type test on each formula showed the W/A type. pH test results obtained 7,10; 7.14; 7.06; 6.97 for F0, F1, F2 and F3 respectively. Stability test on each formula showed stable results, irritation test on each formula showed that no irritation occurred. Determination of antioxidant activity using the DPPH method by looking at the IC50 value and determining the SPF value. The results of the antioxidant activity test obtained IC50 values ​​at F0 of 108.497 ppm in the medium category, F1 at 69.23 ppm in the strong category, F2 at 61.92 in the strong category, and F3 at 61.39 in the strong category. The best formula was formula 3 with antioxidant activity of 61.39 ppm in the strong category.

Abstract

Daun pacing merupakan tanaman yang mengandung metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, saponin, terpenoid dan steroid. Ekstrak etanol daun pacing dapat diformulasi menjadi sediaan gel dan diuji aktivitas antioksidannya. Ekstrak etanol daun pacing diekstrak dengan metoda maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% dan 70%. Ekstrak etanol daun pacing diformulasikan menjadi gel dengan cara memvariasikan 3 konsentrasi ekstrak yaitu F0 tanpa ekstrak, F1 (0,8%), F2 (1,0%) dan F3 (1,2 %). Dengan parameter uji yaitu organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji daya sebar, uji viskositas, uji stabilitas dan uji antiosksidan menggunakan metode DPPH. Organoleptis didapatkan setiap formula setengah padat, bau khas dan warna yang berbeda-beda F0 putih, F1 coklat tua sedang, F2 Coklat tua dan F3 Coklat tua. Uji homogenitas pada setiap formula diperoleh homogen dan stabil. Uji viskositas menunjukkan hasil F0 = 2919 cP, F1 = 3185 cP, F2 = 3297 cP dan F3 = 3339 cP. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan diperoleh nilai IC50 pada ekstrak sebesar 96,25 ppm dengan kategori kuat, F0 sebesar 321,11 ppm, F1 sebesar 155,77 ppm, F2 sebesar 151, 85 ppm dan F3 sebesar 139,04 ppm. Berdasarkan ini sediaan ekstrak etanol daun pacing yang terbaik pada F3 memiliki aktivitas antioksidan kategori sedang sehingga dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan gel yang stabil secara fisik.

Abstract

Konyal passion fruit (Passiflora ligularis f. lobata) has been widely used as fruit juice by the community, it is necessary to conduct research to explore the potential of konyal passion fruit as a natural medicine. This study aims to determine the total phenolic compound content and antioxidant activity of ethanol extract from konyal passion fruit seeds using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry method. The sample was macerated with 70% and 96% ethanol solvent, repeated three times and the filtrate was concentrated using a rotary evaporator at 40°C. The extract obtained was determined by the concentration of phenolic compounds using the Follin - Ciocalteau method and the antioxidant activity test using the DPPH method with gallic acid as a comparison compound. The determination of the total phenolic compound content was obtained at 77,73 µg/mL at a wavelength of 747 nm. The antioxidant activity test of gallic acid obtained IC50: 2,04 µg/mL, and the antioxidant activity test of the sample obtained IC50: 21,89 µg/mL at a wavelength of 515 nm. Based on the IC50 value, it can be concluded that the antioxidant activity of the ethanolic extract of passion fruit seeds is in the very strong category, namely in the range <50 µg/mL. The equivalence of antioxidant activity of ethanolic extract of konyal passion fruit seeds with gallic acid is 1:10,73 mg, meaning that 1 mg gram of gallic acid is equivalent to 10,73 mg of ethanolic extract of konyal passion fruit seeds.
