Abstract

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology in the digital era has significantly transformed the field of education, including the roles and responsibilities of teachers. Amid these changes, maintaining the quality of education through enhancing teacher professionalism becomes crucial. One key aspect of improving teacher professionalism is the application of professional ethics, which plays a strategic role in addressing the challenges of the digital age. This paper aims to analyze how professional ethics contribute to enhancing teacher quality by emphasizing the importance of values such as honesty, accountability, and transparency in utilizing educational technology. This study employs a qualitative approach with document analysis techniques to review various relevant literature on professional ethics and its application in modern education. The findings indicate that implementing professional ethics is essential for fostering public trust in the teaching profession, improving the quality of digital interactions between teachers and students, and minimizing the misuse of technology in classrooms. Thus, strengthening the application of professional ethics in teaching not only positively impacts student learning outcomes but also reinforces the role of teachers as moral exemplars in society.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide parents with an understanding of the importance of early literacy and effective ways to stimulate the reading and writing skills of young children. The theme of the activity is "Reading & Writing for Early Childhood", held at PAUD Safitri, Kota Serang, with the Ambassador of Reading from Serang City 2023 as the speaker. This event was attended by 10 parents who focused on understanding and practising early literacy methods. During this activity, parents were introduced to the importance of language and literacy development in children and techniques they can apply at home, such as reading aloud, matching pictures with words, and writing their child's name. The evaluation results showed that interactive and experience-based methods were more effective in increasing children's interest in literacy compared to conventional methods. In addition, parents gained an understanding of the stages of children's literacy development and how to provide stimulation appropriate for their age. The activity also emphasised the importance of a home environment that supports literacy, where children familiar with books and stories are more interested in reading and writing. With this activity, it is hoped that parents will become more actively involved in supporting their children's literacy development enjoyably and effectively.

Abstract

Creativity is a crucial aspect of early childhood development related to imaginative, exploratory, and original thinking abilities. This study aims to examine the effect of using colored corn seed loose parts media on creativity development in children aged 4-5 years. Loose parts media were chosen for their open-ended nature, accessibility, and strong visual and sensory appeal. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group model. The sample consisted of 20 children divided into experimental (n=10) and control (n=10) groups. Data were collected through observation using a creativity assessment sheet based on indicators of fluency, flexibility, and originality. Statistical analysis using t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with t-value of 8.6048 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). The average gain score of the experimental group reached 27.7, while the control group only 18.2. These findings indicate that the use of colored corn seed loose parts has a significant positive impact on enhancing children's creativity. This study contributes to the development of environmentally friendly educational media based on local materials that support contextual learning in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

Participatory leadership in madrasah governance has become increasingly significant in response to growing demands for transparency, accountability, and collaboration in Islamic education. This study aims to examine and analyze participatory leadership practices in a Madrasah Tsanawiyah, focusing on mechanisms of participation, teachers’ interpretations, and the distribution of roles and responsibilities. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis involving the principal, vice principals, and teachers engaged in madrasah management. Data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that participatory leadership is primarily enacted through deliberative forums that function as formal spaces for teacher involvement while simultaneously serving as mechanisms of social legitimacy for institutional decisions, despite the persistence of centralized authority. Teacher participation in supervision and deliberation is experienced ambivalently, functioning both as a dialogical process of professional development and as a source of professional pressure. Furthermore, the distribution of roles reflects organizational trust and collaboration but also generates role ambiguity due to limited clarity of authority and resource support. These findings suggest that participatory leadership in madrasah governance is best understood as a dynamic and context-dependent spectrum of social practices.
