Abstract

This essay draws data from several studies that have been carried out some previous research that discusses the teaching beliefs in Science in Engineering and Mathematical Technology (STEM). This essay aims to express some opinions of early childhood education teachers about implementing STEM in terms of high and low economic backgrounds. This essay uses a systematic literature review method. A total of 8 related journal articles that examine STEM in children and articles taken from 2010 to 2018 are used as sources to be reviewed. The belief of early childhood teachers in implementing a learning innovation is still rarely done, this arises because there is still a lack of understanding of teachers related to learning innovations that always develop in accordance with the times. Teachers' teaching experience and their awareness of the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and the way in which science, technology, engineering and mathematics teaching are integrated play different roles in teaching in the classroom. The results of the analysis carried out there are differences in beliefs and awareness revealed between teachers in schools with a high economic background and a low economy related to teacher beliefs in implementing STEM learning in early childhood. The findings of this analysis support the need for professional improvement that can increase teacher understanding of the importance of STEM in early childhood

Abstract

Paying attention to the growth, development and interests and needs of young children and by providing appropriate stimulation in early childhood can help develop early numeracy skills. The fact of the difficulty to understand the concept of counting is the factors that influence it, so it will affect the ability to count the beginning of children aged 5-6 years in the kindergarten Ulil Albab Walantaka District Serang city of Banten Province. This study aims to compare the results of pretest test of the experimental class with experimental class posttest. This research uses Quasi Experimental method or Quasi Experimental design which is used is nonequivalent control group design. The design used in this study uses posttest design only with inequivalent groups, ie experiments on 2 groups (Control class and Experiment Class). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference in the control class with the t-test 5,602 and the experimental class 5,861, it can be seen that t count result ≥ t table. Based on the predefined test criteria that if t count ≤ -t table or t count ≥ t table 5,602 ≥ 2.042 then H0 is rejected and H1 accepted, which means that there is difference between Posttest Class kontorl and Experiment class.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe whether there is an effect of animated video-based learning media on 21st century skills in early childhood. This study uses the Pre-Experimental Design research method in which this design uses a pretest-posttest control group design. The samples in this study were students in group B 1, totaling 26 students (control class) and B 2 with 26 students (experimental class). Data collection techniques were carried out using open-ended questions guided by the teacher. The tests are in the form of pretest and posttest. The initial stage is given a pretest in each class, then learning is carried out using animated videos in the experimental class, in the control class using ordinary learning. Then given a posttest to determine the final ability of students. Based on the results of the normality test, each experimental class and control class obtained a value of sig> 0.05, so that the data were normally distributed. The results of hypothesis testing with t test obtained a significant value of 0.000, sig value of 0.000

Abstract

Stunting occurs in vulnerable children aged 0 to 1000 in the first day of life. The period of 1000 days is a period when children are vulnerable to indications of disease, both infectious and non-communicable diseases, as well as an increased risk of being overweight and obese. The graph of the prevalence of stunting under five in the Gunungsari sub-district, Serang Regency in 2018-2021 shows that there are 4 villages whose stunting prevalence has increased, namely Tamiang village rising 1.81%, Sukalaba village increasing 12.95%, Kadu Agung village increasing 5.31%, and Curug Sulanjana rose 22.16%. Parents' perceptions that emphasize the stunting factor are heredity which can cause a passive response or only accept the existing conditions; so that the child is forced to bear all the consequences of stunting for the rest of his life. This problem became the basis for socializing stunting prevention with the application of good parenting in Sukalaba village, Gunungsari sub-district, Serang district. The process of socialization activities goes through several stages, the first is observation, interviews, preparation and socialization. The conclusion of the socialization activity shows that there is hope for participants to carry out good parenting patterns to prevent stunting in children. The responses of stakeholders and participants after participating in this socialization activity varied, 1) The village office was ready to provide healthy meals per 1 month 2 times for children in Sukalaba village, 2) parents felt sad because they had spent precious time with their children, 3) parents feel grateful for being given the opportunity to participate in this outreach activity, 4) parents want to implement stunting prevention efforts for their families, and 5) posyandu cadres are ready to provide assistance for stunting prevention efforts in Sukalaba village. The hope is that awareness of the importance of stunting prevention can run in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Pendekatan Science Technology EngineeringArts Mathematics (STEAM) pada anak usia dini hadir dikarenakan adanya tuntutakn era revolusi Industi 4.0, yang mampu menstimulus skills abad 21. Namun dalam pengintegrasian bidang-bidang ilmu STEAM dengan kegiatan bermain anak masih ditemukan kesenjangan gender. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji implementasi STEAM dalam mengkonstruksi kesetaraan gender pada anak usia dini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah anak berusia 5-6 tahun sebanyak 17 anak, 2 guru dan kepala sekolah. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis menggunakan tematik analisis dan memvalidasi ulangkan dengan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) implementasi STEAM di PAUD; serta (2) kegiatan STEAM dan proses konstruksi kesetaraan gender. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa implementasi STEAM merupakan praktik baik untuk mengkonstruksi kesetaraan gender pada anak usia dini.

Abstract

Busy work makes fathers have to take advantage of the time to maximize the father's role in caring for early childhood. This study aims to look at fathers' perceptions of the father's role in early childhood care in families with working fathers and housewives. This research is qualitative research using the case study method. In-depth interviews are a technique for collecting data. There are three working fathers with wives who work as housewives involved in this study. The results show that fathers view parenting as something important. Fathers maximize time by filling in fun activities with children to build closeness and instill positive values. The motivation for father involvement in parenting, personal experience, and environmental influences are integrated into how fathers interpret parenting and the father's role in the care of early childhood as a whole. More positive the father's perception of the father's role in parenting, the higher the father's involvement in parenting.

Abstract

Indonesia kini mulai memasuki abad 21 yang ditandai dengan berkembangnya pendidikan yang begitu pesat. Pendidikan menjadi salah satu yang terdampak pada perkembangan abad 21 ini. Untuk menyikapi perkembangan proses pembelajaran yang serba digital pada era pendidikan pada abad 21 yang membawa pengaruh positif pada dunia Pendidikan maka setiap individu harusnya sudah memiliki keterampilan abad 21 yang meliputi critical thinking, collaboration, communication, dan creativity. Seringkali komunikasi dengan menggunakan pendekatan HOTS berkenaan dengan proses pembelajaran dengan peserta didik yang merupakan salah satu bagian dari keterampilan abad 21, namun kemampuan komunikasi pendidik masih terbatas. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari guru sebagai pelaku pendidikan yang berkewajiban memiliki kualifikasi akademik yang diperoleh melalui perguruan tinggi yang terakreditasi (S1/D4) dan memiliki 4 kompetensi sebagai penunjang terlaksananya proses pembelajaran yang efektif bagi peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk melihat proses guru dalam melakukan komunikasi berbasis HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) untuk mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi anak usia dini, dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus serta observasi dan wawancara sebagai teknik pengambilan data. Maka yang ditemukan di lapangan ialah kemampuan komunikasi dua arah dari pendidik dan anak usia dini yang berbasis HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills).

Abstract

Kegiatan sosialisasi tentang Pencegahan stunting sejak dini melalui seruan menjaga sanitasi lingkungan kepada masyarakat bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman yang lebih dalam kepada masyarakat di kampung Peres Desa Pulo Panjang sehingga masyarakat mampu melakukan antisipasi terkait peningkatan angka stunting dan memperbaiki sanitasi lingkungan di wilayah tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan di Kampung Peres, Desa Pulo Panjang, Kecamatan Pulo Ampel ini dihadiri oleh masyarakat khususnya Ibu Rumah Tangga (IRT) dan para kader posyandu. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah dengan melakukan metode survei lapangan, persiapan, dan sosialisasi. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini terdapat peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai stunting dan cara menjaga sanitasi lingkungan yang lebih baik. Masyarakat yang hadir merasa termotivasi untuk lebih peduli dalam menjaga sanitasi lingkungan karena dari hal kecil tersebut bisa menimbulkan permasalahan pada peningkatan angka stunting guna menciptakan generasi anak didalam keluarga yang lebih baik dan mendukung bagi tumbuh kembang seluruh anggota keluarga.

Abstract

Vocabulary is an important element in the development of language skills in early childhood. The development of this vocabulary understanding skill requires a complete understanding to be obtained by the child. This research has the hope of being able to improve children's ability to recognize vocabulary in children by using the Experiential Learning Approach in group A of Ulil Albab Kindergarten. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). The sample of this study involved 12 children in group A. The data collection process in this study was carried out by carrying out two cycles of action. The results of this research action have shown an increase in the child's ability to recognize vocabulary and indicate an increase that has been made in cycle one which shows a result of 61.1% where half of the sample has shown an increase, then in the second cycle the actions that have been taken show an increase again by 91.1%. The researcher concludes that the researcher's efforts in improving the ability to recognize vocabulary in children through an experiential learning model approach are well applied to Ulil Albab Kindergarten

Abstract

Stunting menjadi permasalahan serius dalam pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Data Hasil Validasi Gizi Balita dari 9 Puskesmas di Kota Cilegon pada Februari 2023 mencatat jumlah balita penderita stunting mencapai 1.144, dengan 168 balita mengalami stunting di Kecamatan Cibeber. Dari data posyandu, 5 di antaranya terdapat di Desa Cikerai. Selain itu, terdapat 23 anak dengan berat badan dan tinggi badan di bawah rata-rata yang seharusnya. Hasil wawancara dengan warga dan kepala desa menunjukkan bahwa faktor penyebab utama adalah ketidaktahuan orang tua akan pentingnya memberikan asupan makanan yang sehat dan bergizi, serta anggapan masyarakat yang salah mengenai pemberian makanan seperti sayur, buah, dan daging yang berlebihan sebagai penyebab anak sakit dan cacingan, sehingga para warga enggan memberikannya pada anak-anak mereka. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan program edukasi mengenai makanan sehat dan gizi seimbang guna mencegah bertambahnya angka stunting di desa tersebut. Program ini bertujuan memberikan pemahaman lebih mendalam kepada orang tua mengenai pentingnya memberikan sayur, buah, dan daging kepada anak-anak mereka. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini meliputi survei lapangan, persiapan, dan sosialisasi, dengan metode ceramah dan pemberian makanan sehat. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah seluruh orang tua yang memiliki anak balita dan PAUD, serta ibu hamil di Kelurahan Cikerai Kota Cilegon. Sebanyak 20 peserta yang memiliki anak PAUD dan 3 ibu hamil mengikuti kegiatan ini. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman mengenai makanan sehat dan bergizi untuk mencegah stunting.
