Abstract

Emotional intelligence is a person's ability to manage responses, emotions, and interactions when dealing with other people. This intelligence requires the owner to process feelings and respect themselves and others so that they are able and understand how to place themselves in their environment. Because of emotional intelligence’s importance in life, Darussalam Modern Gontor Islamic Institution which is one of the Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia with a dormitory system is very concerned and tries to improve this intelligence in addition to intellectual and spiritual intelligence. Therefore, this study aims to explain the implementation of emotional intelligence in Darussalam Modern Gontor Islamic Institution and its implications for students. This research is a qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis method used is descriptive analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that emotional intelligence at Darussalam Modern Gontor Islamic Institution is improved through various activities undertaken by students for 24 hours. From here, students have self-awareness, self-management, empathy, and sympathy and have good social relationships with various kinds of students with different characters.

Abstract

Discipline behavior is one of the most important behaviors to teach because it can make a person able to follow the rules. Schools are strategic environments for teaching disciplined behavior. The school education system requires students to be disciplined, and every student must always follow the existing rules. This study aims to provide insight into the factors that influence students in disciplinary behavior so as to facilitate an educational institution in improving discipline in the special education process at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method through the approach initiated by Miles and Huberman. With data obtained by taking a survey on 163 students (male: 95; female: 68) from Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurussalam, Sambirejo, Mantingan, Ngawi, Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that there are several factors that influence the disciplinary behavior of madrasah ibtidaiyah students which are divided into four motivations, including: (1) internal motivation factor, this can be seen from the students' understanding of the discipline that has been applied in madrasah ibtidaiyah by being able to adapt to the school regulatory system, have good self-control (which is influenced by religiosity), and have high ideal motivation , and (2) external motivation factors, this can be seen from the support of parents, having responsibility and motivation to avoid punishment, and the influence of friends who have obeyed the rules.

Abstract

This study aims to understand and reveal the efforts of the Principal of KMI (Kulliyatul Mu’allimin Al-Islamiyah) to upgrade teachers’ professionalism. For this goal, this research used field research, with a qualitative research approach. The object field for this research is Darussalam Gontor for Girls first College, Sambirejo, Mantingan, Ngawi, East Java, Indonesia. The research methodology consists of data reduction, display data, and concluding data. With all of this process of research found that the efforts of the Principal of  KMI to upgrade teacher’s professionalism competence contain 5 point’s: (1) encouraging teachers active involvement in academic and non-academic activities; (2) holding Kamisan routines meeting to evaluate learning activities; (3) improving teachers understanding about special subject material within ta’hil programs; (4) direct observation on learning process through learning supervision in the classroom; and (5) requiring teachers to make teaching preparations before entering the learning process at the classroom.

Abstract

Pendidikan Islam di Indonesia menghadapi tantangan signifikan dalam mempertahankan identitas dan nilai-nilai lokal di era modernisasi dan globalisasi. Fenomena ini tercermin dari memudarnya pemahaman generasi muda terhadap nilai-nilai lokal, sementara pengaruh budaya global semakin mendominasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mengembangkan model pendidikan Islam yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai universal Islam dengan kearifan lokal dalam konteks modernisasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur sistematis dan analisis konten kualitatif terhadap dokumen-dokumen kebijakan pendidikan Islam dan kurikulum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengintegrasian nilai-nilai lokal dalam pendidikan Islam dapat memperkuat identitas keislaman yang kontekstual, meningkatkan relevansi pendidikan, dan mempersiapkan siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan global tanpa kehilangan akar budaya. Implikasi penelitian ini mencakup pengembangan kurikulum digital adaptif, pelatihan guru dalam integrasi teknologi dan nilai lokal, serta kolaborasi multistakeholder dalam merancang program pendidikan Islam yang relevan di era digital.

Abstract

Inclusive education has been a major focus of global education policy conversations over the past few decades. Along with the rapid development of technology, the role of technology in supporting inclusive education has become an increasingly widely explored subject of research. Technology integration in the context of inclusive education involves the use of various tools and platforms that are accessible to students with special needs. The purpose of this research is to explore various aspects of the use of technology in promoting inclusion in education, by identifying opportunities, challenges and important factors that should be considered in order to create a more inclusive and equitable education for all individuals. The research method used is a literature review, exploring data sources such as journal articles, books, research reports and other academic publications relevant to this topic. The results of this study show that technology integration has had a significant positive impact in improving educational accessibility for students, allowing more efficient personalization of learning, and increasing student engagement and participation in the learning process. However, challenges such as technology infrastructure, teacher training, technology suitability, data privacy and necessary policy support need to be addressed for the benefits of technology to be optimized in supporting educational inclusion as a whole.

Abstract

Integrasi prinsip pembangunan berkelanjutan ke dalam kurikulum pendidikan Islam menjadi semakin krusial dalam menghadapi tantangan global kontemporer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara komprehensif berbagai model integrasi, tantangan implementasi, dan peluang pengembangan dalam konteks pendidikan Islam. Metode yang digunakan adalah tinjauan literatur, dengan pencarian pada database akademik seperti Google Scholar, JSTOR, dan ERIC, menggunakan kata kunci yang relevan. Kriteria inklusi mencakup artikel peer-reviewed, buku, dan laporan penelitian yang diterbitkan. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan tematik untuk mengidentifikasi tren utama, kesenjangan penelitian, dan praktik terbaik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi dapat dilakukan melalui pendekatan tematik dalam kurikulum, pengembangan mata pelajaran khusus tentang keberlanjutan, dan integrasi nilai-nilai keberlanjutan dalam setiap aspek pembelajaran. Tantangan utama meliputi kurangnya pemahaman mendalam di kalangan pendidik, keterbatasan sumber daya dan infrastruktur, serta kebutuhan akan metode penilaian yang efektif. Namun, terdapat peluang signifikan untuk memperkuat relevansi pendidikan Islam, meningkatkan dialog global tentang keberlanjutan, dan memberdayakan siswa sebagai agen perubahan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi prinsip pembangunan berkelanjutan dalam pendidikan Islam memiliki potensi besar untuk menciptakan model pendidikan yang lebih holistik, relevan, dan transformatif dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. This research aims to comprehensively explore various integration models, implementation challenges, and development opportunities within the context of Islamic education. The method employed is a literature review, with searches conducted on academic databases such as Google Scholar, JSTOR, and ERIC, using relevant keywords. Inclusion criteria encompassed peer-reviewed articles, books, and research reports published. Analysis was conducted using a thematic approach to identify key trends, research gaps, and best practices. The results indicate that integration can be achieved through thematic approaches in the curriculum, development of specific sustainability-focused subjects, and integration of sustainability values across all aspects of learning. Major challenges include a lack of in-depth understanding among educators, resource and infrastructure limitations, and the need for effective assessment methods. However, significant opportunities exist to strengthen the relevance of Islamic education, enhance global dialogue on sustainability, and empower students as agents of change. This research concludes that the integration of sustainable development principles in Islamic education has great potential to create a more holistic, relevant, and transformative educational model in addressing 21st-century challenges. Abstract

The digital revolution has presented challenges in the child education system, including gaps in access to digital infrastructure, limitations in teachers' competence in integrating technology, and concerns about negative impacts on children's socio-emotional development. This study aims to analyze the role of innovation and technology in education in the digital era, explore effective technology-based learning models, and identify strategies for developing children's intelligence to meet the demands of the 21st century. The method used was a systematic literature review with a thematic analysis of peer-reviewed journals from leading academic databases. The results show that technology plays a significant role in creating personal, collaborative, and inclusive learning through game-based learning, adaptive learning, and artificial intelligence-based applications. The effectiveness of technology integration depends on a blended learning approach, adequate infrastructure, educator training, and policies that support equitable access, thus requiring stakeholder collaboration in creating an optimal digital education ecosystem. Abstract

Cultural diversity is one of the major challenges in mental health management globally. Different cultural views on mental disorders often lead to difficulties in providing effective and appropriate care for patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. This study aims to identify the challenges of integrating cultural diversity into the mental health care system, and to assess best practices that can be implemented to improve the effectiveness of culture-based care. The method used in this study was a literature analysis, which included a review of recent studies on culturally-based mental health management in various countries. The findings revealed several key challenges, including the inability to adapt therapeutic approaches to patients’ cultural values, mental health stigma, and limitations in training and available resources. The study also found that integration between traditional medicine and Western medical approaches can improve patient acceptance of the treatment provided. Based on these findings, this study recommends the development of inclusive policies and culturally-based training programs for medical personnel, in addition to the importance of community outreach to reduce stigma towards mental disorders. It is hoped that the results of this study can contribute to improving the quality and accessibility of culturally sensitive mental health care.

Abstract

Second language learning faces significant challenges, such as low student motivation, limited resources, and a lack of teacher training, which can hinder learning effectiveness. Ineffective educational management in curriculum and language policy implementation may exacerbate these conditions, making exploring effective strategies for supporting second language acquisition essential. This study aims to identify and analyze effective educational management strategies in supporting second language acquisition and solutions to challenges encountered in their implementation. Additionally, this research seeks to provide recommendations on policies and teaching approaches to enhance the quality of second language learning. The research method used is a literature review involving collecting and analyzing relevant articles and scientific journals. This study explores various literature on educational management, second language teaching strategies, and technology in language learning. The findings indicate that effective educational management—such as curriculum development based on authentic communication, the use of technology in learning, and teacher training—can improve the effectiveness of second language acquisition. The main challenges include low student motivation and limited resource access, which can be addressed through technology-based approaches and more inclusive policies.
