Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of using mobile phones before bedtime on sleep patterns and emotional development of elementary school children. The research sample consisted of 60 randomly selected children from grades 4 and 5 at Bentengmati 1 Elementary School in Mijen. Data was collected on mobile phone usage before bedtime, sleep patterns, and children's emotional development. The subjects of the study were fourth and fifth-grade students at Bentengmati 1 Elementary School. Data collection techniques included surveys and questionnaires. The primary data for this research was obtained through distributing questionnaires to the fourth and fifth-grade students. The study was conducted online using Google Forms from April 27 to 28, 2024. Data was processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS Statistics 22. The results showed that students at Bentengmati 1 Elementary School have varying durations of gadget usage. There are 21 students (35%) who have a high duration of gadget use and 10 students (16.7%) with a low duration. The study on the duration of gadget usage among fourth and fifth-grade students at Bentengmati 1 Elementary School revealed that these children find gadgets very important and have difficulty controlling their use. This condition is common among children transitioning from childhood to adolescence, who still require parental supervision. The data also revealed that more than half of the students experience poor sleep quality, with 21 students (35%) affected. Additionally, 68 out of 81 respondents (84%) reported poor sleep quality, while only 13 students (16%) had good sleep quality.

Abstract

Stroke merupakan salah satu penyebab utama kematian dan kecacatan di Indonesia. Keterlambatan penanganan sering terjadi akibat rendahnya pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai gejala awal stroke. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengenali gejala stroke melalui metode FAST (Face, Arm, Speech, Time). Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada September 2025 di Musholla Al Syukru, Bandar Lampung, dengan peserta sebanyak 18 orang dari kelompok pengajian. Metode kegiatan meliputi penyuluhan, pembagian leaflet, diskusi interaktif, serta simulasi pertolongan pertama. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan peserta dari 33,3% menjadi 77,8% setelah kegiatan. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa edukasi berbasis komunitas menggunakan metode FAST efektif meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat terhadap stroke.

Abstract

Kesenjangan ekonomi di wilayah perdesaan Indonesia menempatkan perempuan desa pada posisi yang rentan. Artikel ini menjelaskan upaya untuk meningkatkan kapasitas ekonomi perempuan melalui pelatihan pembuatan kue kering berbasis komunitas di Desa Kemodo Utara Dukuhmojo, Kabupaten Jombang melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dengan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan pendampingan berkelanjutan. Peserta terdiri atas sepuluh perempuan berusia 40–55 tahun yang sebagian besar berperan sebagai ibu rumah tangga dan kepala keluarga. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam tiga pertemuan pada bulan Maret 2025 dengan fokus pada produk pastel kering, nastar, dan kue cokelat. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan teknis peserta dalam produksi kue kering, pengemasan, dan simulasi pemasaran. Peserta memperoleh kesadaran ekonomi baru mengenai potensi usaha kuliner sebagai sumber pendapatan keluarga. Solidaritas sosial tumbuh melalui kerja kelompok, refleksi bersama, dan inisiatif pembentukan usaha mikro berbasis komunitas. Inisiatif berkelanjutan muncul berupa rencana partisipasi bazar Ramadan dan pendirian koperasi perempuan. Perubahan terlihat pada peningkatan kepercayaan diri, motivasi berwirausaha, dan kemampuan mengambil keputusan ekonomi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pelatihan kue kering berfungsi sebagai strategi efektif pemberdayaan perempuan desa karena mampu mengintegrasikan aspek keterampilan, kesadaran kritis, solidaritas sosial, dan inisiatif mandiri. Model ini memberikan kontribusi teoritis pada literatur pemberdayaan berbasis komunitas serta menawarkan praktik nyata untuk mengatasi keterbatasan ekonomi perempuan desa di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of informal education in empowering women in the rural informal sector, thereby improving family economic conditions and promoting gender equality. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, the research was conducted in the Menganti District, Gresik Regency, involving women working in informal sectors. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal that informal education through skills training, such as salted egg production and coconut shell charcoal processing, successfully enhanced women's technical skills, increased family income, and strengthened their self-confidence. Informal education also fostered social solidarity within the community, although women continued to face the double burden of balancing domestic responsibilities and economic activities. These results emphasize that informal education is not only a means of improving economic capacity but also catalyzes a shift in social values toward justice and gender equality. Women's empowerment through education must be accompanied by broader social structural changes and sustainable policy support to achieve inclusive and equitable development goals.
