Abstract

Power transformers are crucial in the electrical distribution system, and their operational stability is significantly affected by load imbalance among phases. Load imbalance can lead to the flow of neutral current through the neutral conductor, causing additional power losses in the transformer. This study analyzes the impact of load imbalance on neutral current and power losses at Transformer 1 (30 MVA capacity, 70/20 kV) at the Bungaran Substation. Data such as phase current, neutral current, and power losses were measured at 12:00 and 21:00. At 12:00, the transformer’s full-load current was 839.17 A with a loading of 28.44% and a load imbalance of 0.74%, resulting in a neutral current of 4.36 A (1.83% of load current). The power loss due to neutral current was 12.64 W (4.36×10-5 %), and the loss due to neutral current flowing to the ground was 760 W (2.62×10-3 %). At 21:00, the full-load current decreased to 834.46 A, with a loading of 29.36% and a higher load imbalance of 1.36%. This caused a neutral current of 7.94 A (3.24%), with a power loss of 41.90 W (1.43×10-4 %) and a ground power loss of 2.52 W (8.60×10-3 %). The power losses were minimal compared to the transformer’s capacity, having little effect on system efficiency. However, maintaining load balance is essential for system efficiency and transformer longevity.

Abstract

Research conducted at CV Multi Teknik Perkasa Palembang indicates that the total installed power for various panels is 18,448 watts, consisting of 448 watts for lighting panels, 5100 watts for induction motor power panels, 9000 watts for cooling panels, and 3900 watts for lamp and socket panels. Further analysis reveals that the power consumption does not exceed the available power. Therefore, the electrical installation at CV Multi Teknik Perkasa Palembang is in good and safe condition for use.

Abstract

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) leakage remains one of the leading causes of fires in both household and industrial environments, highlighting the urgent need for early detection systems that provide fast and accurate warnings. This study aims to design and implement an LPG leakage detection device based on the ESP8266 microcontroller, utilizing the MQ-6 gas sensor and a real-time notification system through Telegram Bot integration. The system operates by reading LPG gas concentration via the MQ-6 sensor, which is then processed by the ESP8266 to automatically activate a buzzer alarm and a DC fan when gas levels exceed the threshold of 200 ppm. Additionally, the system sends instant alert notifications to the user through the Telegram application, allowing remote monitoring of gas conditions. Real-time gas concentration data are also displayed using a 16x2 LCD for direct visualization. System testing was carried out through controlled gas leakage simulations, and the results showed that the device is capable of responding rapidly, with a reaction time of less than 2 seconds after detection, while consistently providing accurate warnings. The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology significantly enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of the system, enabling practical and accessible monitoring. Overall, the developed device demonstrates strong potential as an innovative solution to improve safety, minimize fire risks, and raise public awareness regarding the hazards of LPG leakage, making it suitable for practical application in households and small industries.

Abstract

The limited ability of teachers to write scientific papers remains one of the obstacles to professional development and career advancement. This activity aimed to improve teachers’ competencies through scientific writing training at SMAN 1 Kayu Agung, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The method employed was training and mentoring, which included the delivery of materials on basic concepts of scientific writing, the structure of scientific articles, citation and referencing techniques, and practical sessions on preparing scientific articles. The participants of this activity were teachers of SMAN 1 Kayu Agung. The results showed an improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in writing scientific papers, as indicated by their ability to produce scientific articles in accordance with proper academic writing standards. In addition, teachers demonstrated positive attitudes and increased motivation to produce scientific works as part of continuous professional development. Therefore, scientific writing training is effective in enhancing teachers’ competencies and can serve as a strategy for teacher professional development in schools.
