Abstract

Madiun is a city in East Java Province, Indonesia. The fourth largest city in East Java, after Surabaya, Malang, and Kediri, is 160 km west of Surabaya, or 111 km east of Surakarta, Central Java. The fourth largest city in East Java after Surabaya, Malang and Kediri. This city has a railroad industry (INKA) and a railroad high school. Based on the data above, the social capital owned by the city of Madiun must be maintained and increased from time to time as the times change and progress. Therefore, society and the world. Education in Madiun must keep up with the times by updating or reforming, learning innovations to be at the forefront, and at least not to be left behind. Higher-order thinking, known as higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), is an educational reform concept based on learning taxonomies (such as Bloom's taxonomy). The idea is that some types of learning require more cognitive processing than others but have more general benefits. The problem is that the busyness of teachers and the community and the lack of time to think about and carry out updates make teachers less active in implementing innovations or reforms in education. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to provide education and training on various ways of updating learning. The implementation method is carried out through lectures, demonstrations, and workshops to school inspectors and school principals in Madiun. Evaluation of the pretest results regarding the HOTS workshop showed that understanding increased by 19% with indicators during the activity, 90% of the participants were enthusiastic about practicing it, and 100% had made updates by carrying out HOTS-based learning. This community service is one of the PGRI Madiun University programs that implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education by conducting training on implementing HOTS-based learning.

Abstract

This study is important to conduct with the aim of knowing the implementation and effect of using PowerPoint media on student learning outcomes. This learning media produces an active and focused atmosphere. This type of research is a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest with a quantitative approach. The research population used 36 students of class XI Software and Game Development (PPLG) 1 SMK Negeri 1 Tanah Grogot. Data collection techniques in the form of tests and non-tests, data analysis techniques using validity test, reliability test, normality test, Z test and N-Gain. The conclusion is that there is an implementation of PowerPoint media on student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education class XI SMK Negeri 1 Tanah Grogot with an N-Gain increase value of 0.8317 or equivalent to 83% of the high category. There is an effect of increasing the use of PowerPoint media on student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education class XI SMK Negeri 1 Tanah Grogot with Zcount 0.189 < Ztabel 1.96. For further researchers, it is expected to examine more sources and references used related to the effect of using PowerPoint media on student learning outcomes so that the research can be better and more complete, further researchers can also develop research by examining the latest version of PowerPoint as a material consideration to further deepen further research either on other subjects or on other aspects.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of Flash Card media to improve early childhood Alphabet and Spelling Vocabulary recognition in reading English at PAUD ADIAN Jaya Karang Sari. This study used qualitative method. The participants in this study were all students of “Class A” PAUD ADIAN Jaya Karang Sari. The result of study on Effectiveness of Flash Card Media to improve the early childhood English Letter and vocabulary recognition in reading English show the implementation of Flash Card. The researchershowed some vocabulary in front of the student by the Flash Card. First, the researcher showed some picture in Flash card, then the researcher mention some vocabulary spell it in the flash card in English. Data was collected by interview and observation sheet. In interview, the researcher invited all the students to mention some vocabulary and student spell it in front of the class. In observation, the researcher makes some quiz about the vocabulary. The researcher showed the flash card. Then make a score for the students that can answer the words and spell it. This research give the implication how to important media learning for early childhood to study English.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how teachers at MA Ma'arif Jogorogo applied strategies to teach aspects of listening. The teachers were selected through purposive sampling, which involved the selection of samples based on specific criteria. Based on the purposive sampling method, two teachers were selected as research samples. A qualitative descriptive research approach was used to examine three aspects of teachers' strategies: their interpretation of teaching strategies, their actual teaching methods, and their assessment of students' listening comprehension. Data collection involved semi-structured interviews to gain in-depth insights from the respondents. Data analysis used interactive analysis models from Miles and Huberman. The research revealed that teachers' interpretations of strategies were closely interrelated with other skills, impacting learning outcomes significantly. Additionally, the use of different strategies facilitated students to more easily understand the material discussed. Furthermore, the use of different strategies could lead to varying results. Moreover, the use of audio-visual media allowed students to directly hear the sound and focus on the content in question, followed by group discussions and quizzes that encouraged direct and spontaneous student responses. Finally, teachers assessed students' work through various exercises, such as summarizing the material, identifying main ideas, making presentations, and engaging in question and answer sessions. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana guru di MA Ma'arif Jogorogo menerapkan strategi untuk mengajar aspek mendengarkan. Para guru dipilih melalui cara purposive sampling, yaitu pemilihan sampel dengan kriteria-kriteria yang telah disebutkan. Berdasarkan metode purposive sampling tersebut didapatkan dua orang guru sebagai sampel penelitian. Pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menguji tiga aspek strategi guru: interpretasi mereka terhadap strategi pengajaran, metode pengajaran mereka yang sebenarnya, dan penilaian mereka terhadap pemahaman mendengarkan siswa. Pengumpulan data melibatkan wawancara semi-terstruktur untuk mendapatkan wawasan mendalam dari para responden. Analisis data menggunakan model analisis interaktif dari Miles and Huberman. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa interpretasi guru terhadap strategi saling terkait erat dengan keterampilan lain, berdampak pada hasil pembelajaran secara signifikan. Selain itu, penggunaan strategi yangnberbeda juga memfasilitasi para siswa agar lebih mudah dalam memahami materi yang didiskusikan. Selain itu, penggunaan strategi yang berbeda dapat menyebabkan hasil yang bervariasi. Selanjutnya, penggunaan media audio visual memungkinkan siswa untuk langsung mendengar suara dan fokus pada konten yang dimaksud, diikuti dengan diskusi kelompok dan kuis yang mendorong tanggapan siswa secara langsung dan spontan. Akhirnya, guru menilai pekerjaan siswa melalui berbagai latihan, seperti meringkas materi, mengidentifikasi ide-ide utama, melakukan presentasi, dan terlibat dalam sesi tanya jawab

Abstract

This research is rooted in low vocabulary mastery in elementary school students. In understanding English lessons students often have difficulties due to their low mastery of vocabulary. Limited face-to-face time in class and foreign English is one of the reasons for the lack of successful learning activities. This study aims to observe the success of the application of image media in improving vocabulary mastery of grade IV students of SDN Girimulyo I. The subjects of this study were 17 students and English teachers and were carried out using the PTK method. The research lasted for two cycles and the successful application of image media in improving students' vocabulary mastery was carried out well. In obtaining research data, researchers use research instruments in the form of observation and interview guidelines. Furthermore, the data obtained is then processed and analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the application of the use of image media in vocabulary learning in the school was satisfactory.

Abstract

The aim from this study is to improve English skills mastery of students by applying the SOLE (Self Organized Learning Environment) learning model. The study conducted qualitative research by case study type. The research result showing the improvement of students self-confidence in explaining their idea towards other students, after getting the stimulus of challenging question from the teacher.

Abstract

For students, communicating using English is a common thing. However, it is often difficult for them to develop it, especially when they come from non-English study programs. This makes them feel difficult and then lazy to learn. The problem that then arises is what learning techniques they apply to be willing and proficient in English, and how they apply these learning techniques. This study aims to: (i) examine the learning techniques used by STAI Ma'arif Magetan students in learning languages. English (ii) Exploring how these learning techniques are applied in communicating in English by STAI Ma'arif Magetan students. This research is a qualitativeresearch in the form of a case study. The results of this study indicate that (i) the students of STAI Ma'arif Magetan apply three techniques to improve their communication skills in English, namely effective production technique, comprehension reaction technique, and reinforcing comprehension technique. (ii) Every technique used by students to become proficient in communicating English, is applied in certain ways, namely translating, getting help, using gestures, using synonyms, using notes, translating, using sources, using notes, and translating using personal estimates. Abstract

This study aims to find out the factors that affect the English speaking ability of students. In addition, it is also to know the application of direct methods in improving their speaking ability. The results of the study showed that the use of direct methods can improve the English speaking skills of students at the beginner level in the English Center course institute. This can be seen from the results achieved by students at the time of being given the test. The average score of students on the initial test was 30.6% which is categorized as still very lacking. After being given treatment in Cycle I, the average score of students increased to 47.7% and was still in the less category. However, in cycle II the average score of students increased to 71.3% and was in a good category. Students are able to speak in the context of a simple conversation. They are able to use certain phrases and vocabulary effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the application of Teams Game Tournament learning increases the interest in learning class VIIIC students in Fiqh subjects at MTs. Al-Ihsan Tanah Grogot, and to find out whether, by applying Teams Game Tournament, learning can increase the interest in learning class VIIIC students in Fiqh subjects at MTs. Al-Ihsan Tanah Grogot. This study used a class action research design (PTK) with 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of planning stages, implementation of actions, observation and evaluation, as well as analysis and reflection. The research subjects were students of class VIIIC MTs. Al-Ihsan Tanah Grogot with a total of 39 students, observation of student activities with teachers, interest questionnaires, data analyzed by percentage techniques. The results showed that the application of Teams Game Tournament learning can increase students' interest in learning. The results of student interest in learning increased from the category of sufficient 18.91%, good 67.56%, very good 13.51% in cycle I to the category of sufficient 5.40%, good 54.05%, and very good 40.54% in cycle II. Thus the interest of students in class VIIIC MTs.Al-Ihsan Tanah Grogot in Fiqh subjects increased well after the application of Teams Game Tournament learning.

Abstract

Creativity is the fundamental trait a teacher has to have. Creative teachers can be recognized by their capacity to use several approaches and modify instructional methods to fit other learning environments. This study intends to investigate the imaginative techniques used by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to inspire students' enthusiasm in memorizing short surahs at the elementary school level, also to know the supporting factors of it. To capture the lived experiences of participants, a qualitative research design using a phenomenological method was applied. In-depth interviews with Islamic Religious Education teachers, three students, and two parents yielded primary data. These interviews aimed to collect ideas on the teachers' inventiveness in creating interesting memorizing exercises, their strategies for inspiring pupils, and the obstacles they face. The results show that students' motivation is much improved by the regular application of the muraja'ah (revision) technique in weekly memorization exercises. Encouraging students' desire to memorize brief surahs was the inventiveness of PAI teachers. The study also emphasizes, therefore, that the effectiveness of these memorization exercises at SDN Gulun 3 is significantly influenced by parental support and good rivalry among students. These elements working together produce a synergistic environment that motivates pupils to be more dedicated and eager in learning brief surahs.
