Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out The Effect of Online Learning English at SMA NEGERI 12 MAKASSAR that consisted of 35 students. This research was ex post facto quantitative research which was implemented in four stages which was observation, interview, documentation and analysis data, the collecting data method used quantitative data. Interview was the main data while observation and documentation was the supporting data. The result of the data shows that the variable X has no significant effect on the variable Y. From the results testing the hypothesis proved that "There is no significant effect of independent on dependent in SMA NEGERI 12 MAKASSAR because the effect of independent is very weak on dependent, which is 0.10% while 90.0% of coping stress is influenced by other variables that are not examined, t count < t table so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Online di SMA NEGERI 12 MAKASSAR yang terdiri dari 35 siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif ex post facto yang dilaksanakan dalam empat tahap yaitu observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan analisis data, metode pengumpulan data menggunakan data kuantitatif. Wawancara merupakan data utama sedangkan observasi dan dokumentasi sebagai data pendukung. Hasil data menunjukkan bahwa variabel X tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel Y. Dari hasil pengujian hipotesis membuktikan bahwa “Tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara independen terhadap dependen di SMA NEGERI 12 MAKASSAR karena pengaruh independen sangat lemah pada dependen yaitu 0,10% sedangkan coping stress 90,0% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti, t hitung < t tabel sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima.

Abstract

Reading as one of the components of English that must be studied. This component helps students to improve their abilities in reading. In addition, reading is also relates to skills of speaking, listening and writing. The aim of this research is to know the improvement of students’ reading skill through the PAQRS strategy in class XI (Social Studies I) at SMA Negeri 19 Makassar. This research used a classroom action research (CAR) that conducted in two cycles, namely in each cycle consisted of: planning, action, observation and reflection. In cycle consists of four times meetings accompanied by a test. In collecting data, researcher used quantitative data (test) as the main and qualitative data (interviews, and field notes) as supporting data. The results of study showed that there were students (18.91%) who achieved the minimum completeness criteria and the average of students was 67.35 in the first cycle test. While there were 30 students (81.08%) who achieved the graduation criteria and the average of the students was 76.72 in the second cycle test. From result of the research show that the average of students increases from cycle 1 to cycle 2. The conclusion of this study that PAQRS strategy successful improves students’ reading skills. ABSTRAK Membaca sebagai salah satu komponen bahasa Inggris yang harus dipelajari. Komponen ini membantu siswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam membaca. Selain itu, membaca juga berkaitan dengan keterampilan berbicara, mendengarkan, dan menulis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan membaca siswa melalui strategi PAQRS pada siswa kelas XI (IPS I) SMA Negeri 19 Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, yaitu pada setiap siklusnya terdiri dari: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Dalam siklus terdiri dari empat kali pertemuan yang disertai dengan tes. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan data kuantitatif (tes) sebagai data utama dan data kualitatif (wawancara, dan catatan lapangan) sebagai data pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat siswa (18,91%) yang mencapai KKM dan rata-rata siswa pada tes siklus I sebesar 67,35. Sedangkan siswa yang mencapai kriteria kelulusan sebanyak 30 siswa (81,08%) dan rata-rata siswa pada tes siklus II adalah 76,72. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata siswa meningkat dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa strategi PAQRS berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using mind mapping on students’ reading comprehension skill. The research was a pre-experimental study wih a design using one group pre test- post test. The sample in this study was students’ of class X IPA 1 which consisted of 30 students using a random sampling technique. The result of this study showed that the mean value of the pre test was 38.50, which showed that the students’ skill in the pre test was will very low, while the mean value of the post test was 83.17, which showed that students’ reading comprehension skills had increased. The result of the data were analyzed using an independent sample- test, showing that sig, (2-tailed) was 0.00 lower than 0.05 sho that the alternative hypothesis ( Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. The researcher proved that it was the effectiveness of the ability to understand students’ reading through the use of mind mapping. Based on the result of this study, it can be concluded that the use of mind mapping can increase the effectiveness of reading comprehension in clas X IPA 1 students of SMA Nwgwri 10 Gowa ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan mind mapping terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pre- experimental dengan desain yang menggunakan one group pre test – posttest. Sample pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA1 yang terdiri dari 30 siswa dengan teknik random sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pada hasil pre test nilai mean yang dimiliki adalah 38. 50 yang menunjukan yang menunjukan bahwa kemampuan siswa pada pre test masih sangat rendah sedangkan nilai mean pada posttest adalah 83. 17 yang menunjukan bahwa kemampuan memahami bacaan siswa meningkat. Hasil data dianalisis dengan menggunakan independent sample – test, menunjukan bahwa sig. ( 2- tailed ) adalah 0.00 lebih rendah dari 0.05 sehingga hipotesis alternatif ( Ha ) diterima dan hipotesis nol ( H0) ditolak. Peneliti membuktikan bahwa adalah keefektifan pada kemampuan memahami bacaan siswa melalui penggunaan mind mapping. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bawa penggunaan mind mapping dapat meningkatkan keefektifan memahami bacaan pada siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 10 Gowa.

Abstract

The need for innovation in learning in schools is increasingly urgent with the development of information and communication technology. In an effort to improve the quality of learning, approaches based on artificial intelligence (AI) have become a highlight in modern education. This Community Service aims to provide assistance in using AI applications as an effort to increase innovation in teacher teaching in schools. This assistance includes training in using AI applications, integrating technology into the learning process, and creating content that meets curriculum needs. With the help of this mentoring, educators can harness the potential of AI to increase learning effectiveness and provide more engaging and relevant learning experiences for students. The results of this Community Service activity show that the partners (teachers) are very satisfied with the training provided. This is also supported by very effective interactions during activities. Mentoring is expected to make a positive contribution to improving the quality of education at the Education Unit level, especially for teachers at Pannara State Elementary School, Makassar City, South Sulawesi.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out how the teachers’ strategies in teaching English after the pandemic at SMA Negeri 12 Makassar. This study used a qualitative method. The sample in this study was two teachers, the data collection techniques in this study used observation, interviews and documentation. In collecting data, researchers used observations and interviews with English teachers at SMA Negeri 12 Makassar. Based on the research of the first teacher’s research, used metacognitive strategies to evaluate students’ learning outcomes. The evaluation carried out was in the form of giving assignments and working on practice questions and making preparation of learning plans in the teaching and learning process. While, the second teacher uses memory strategy to review teaching. The review carried out was in the form of material repetition and metacognitive to complete learning plans. The conclusion of this study was that the teacher one only used one strategy, namely metacognitive strategy and the teacher two used two strategies, namely metacognitive strategy and memory strategy. The strategy used by the two teachers can help the teaching and learning process, especially in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

Abstrak. Profesi keperawatan merupakan pekerjaan yang berisiko tinggi disertai dengan stres kerja yang tinggi serta kelelahan fisik dan mental. Meningkatnya jumlah penduduk seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah pasien sehingga perawat dituntut bekerja lebih lama dan lebih keras untuk menyelesaikan semua tugas yang diberikan. Perawat sering mengalami stress akibat tekanan yang diberikan karena banyaknya pekerjaan sehingga tidak dapat penuhi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah ada hubungan beban kerja dengan tingkat stres kerja perawat di ruangan rawat inap RSUD Buton Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectionals yang dilaksanakan di Ruang Rawat Inap Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Buton Utara pada bulan juli, dengan Penarikan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling sehingga didapatkan jumlah sampel sebanyak 39 orang. Data dianalisis menggunakan chi-square dengan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 17 (43,6%) responden dengan beban kerja ringan dan tingkat stres ringan, 6 (15,4%) responden dengan beban kerja ringan dan tingkat stres sedang kemudian responden dengan beban kerja sedang dan tingkat stres ringan sebanyak 4 (10,3%) orang, responden dengan beban kerja sedang dan tingkat stres sedang sebanyak 12 (30,8%) orang. Hasil analisa data menggunakan uji chi-square menunjukkan nilai p=0,003 < (α=0,05) maka dapat disimpulkan ada hubungan beban kerja dengan stres kerja perawat di Ruang Rawat Inap RSUD Buton Utara.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' reading comprehension related to the main idea. Three processes were carried out, namely pretest, treatment and post-test consisting of six meetings. This study is a pre-test and post-test study. The population in this study were students of class X.2 SMA Islam Terpadu Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar and sampling using random sampling technique. The sample in this study was 27 students of class X. The research instrument was a narrative text consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions. The data results showed that there was a difference between students' pre-test and post-test. The main score of students before being given treatment was 42.59 and increased to 62.59 after implementing Collaborative Strategy Reading (CSR). The results of data analysis using the independent T test showed that Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 was lower than 0.05 so that (Ha) was accepted and (Ho) was rejected. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that Collaborative Strategy Reading can improve the ability to read English texts of tenth grade students of SMA Islam Terpadu Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar

Abstract

In daily communication, some individuals struggle to express their ideas due to language limitations. As a result, they often resort to code-switching. This phenomenon is also observed among students learning English. This study aimed to analyze the types and functions of code-switching used in English discussion-based learning. A qualitative descriptive method was employed in this research. The participants were 36 eleventh-grade students from the Language Class. Data were collected through observation and interviews. The findings revealed that students used three types of code-switching during discussions: intra-sentential switching, inter-sentential switching, and tag switching. Among these, intra-sentential switching was the most frequently used. Furthermore, the study identified four main functions of code-switching during discussions: emphasizing a point, substituting unknown words, reinforcing requests, and clarifying a point. The analysis indicated that the primary reason for code-switching was students’ limited English vocabulary. Additional linguistic challenges included poor grammar, unclear pronunciation, and a general lack of fluency in English. Consequently, code-switching plays a crucial role in the learning process, as it helps students better understand the material being discussed.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of meaning in the Bugis society’s mappasikarawa culture, which has undergone significant shifts in values due to modernity. It employs a dialectical approach between the Qur’an and local cultural context as al-urf to map the dynamic relationship between universal Islamic values and local wisdom. Using a qualitative analytical-critical method, data was gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis in Bugis regions. Findings show that mappasikarawa serves not only as a symbolic ritual but also integrates Qur’anic values sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah. Thus, a contextual reinterpretation based on maqaṣid al-shariah and hifz al-nafs is essential to maintain its relevance and harmony with Islamic law.
