Abstract

Sand casting is one of the metal casting methods that has been developed and is still being improved. Sand casting is a type of metal casting that use sand molds. There are several ways to make sand casting, However, this study use the jolt squeeze technique to create complex product forms such as the nozzle component of the air brake coupling. FCD 500 nodular cast iron alloy castings are used in the production of brake coupling nozzles. The goal of this research focuses on the metal casting technique for nozzle products for brake coupling, and then continue with the tensile testing procedure. Tensile testing utilizing JIS Z 2201 standards with two sampels with different diameters, specifically 12,46 mm and 12,79 mm, and material types FCD 500-1 and FCD 500-2. The research results show the sequence of the nozzle metal casting process for brake couplings, through the stages of designing, constructing models and cores, making molds, melting, pouring, fettling and finishing, and quality control. Tensile stress values of 525 N/mm2 and 546,189 N/mm2 were obtained for each FCD 500-1 and FCD 500-2 sampels, with force loads of 64000 N and 70130,66 N, respectively.

Abstract

PT. TBP merupakan perusahaan yang memproduksi Baterai Accu untuk keperluan otomotif di Indonesia. Ada beberapa faktor yang dapat memperngaruhi kualitas suatu produk seperti tingginya jumlah cacat pada plat yang mengakibatkan gagal produk. Dengan menggunakan Diagram Fishbone dan Analisa 5W1H diharapkan dapat diketahui penyebab terjadinya plat bengkok dan memberikan usulan perbaikan kualitas dengan cara membuat alat bantu proses produksi agar menurunkan jumlah cacat pada plat. Teknik pengolahan data untuk menentukan faktor penyebab cacat produk paling tinggi yaitu dengan diagram sebab akibat fishbone serta membuat rancangan alat bantu untuk rekomendasi usulan perbaikan. Berdasarkan analisa dapat diketahui bahwa produk cacat paling dominan berasal dari cacat bengkok yang disebabkan karena masalah media yang digunakan yaitu pada saat memasukan plat ke dalam tanki tidak ada tatakan dibawah plat sehingga menyebabkan tumpukan plat bersentuhan langsung dengan rangkaian mesin dan juga tidak ada batas jumlah maksimum untuk menumpuk plat. Dari usulan alat bantu berhasil menurunkan total cacat bengkok di PT. TBP menjadi dibawah 2% per-bulan dari standar yang ditentukan oleh perusahaan.

Abstract

A train is a form of rail transportation consisting of a series of vehicles pulled along a railroad track to transport cargo or passengers. There are different types of trains designed for specific purposes. A train may consist of a combination of one or more locomotives and attached railcars, or several self-propelled units (or sometimes a single or articulated powered coach, called a railcar). To move the train, a component called a bogie is needed. Bogies are generally used for wheels with more than 2 axles (As) in one train car. One of the bogie components found on a train is a bolster. The function of the bolster is to support the bogie against the train body. In making UGL 60 FT bolsters, it begins with material preparation. The materials used are S690Q steel with a tensile strength of 690 MPa, S355J2+N steel with a tensile strength of 355 MPa and E235 steel pipe with a tensile strength of 235 MPa. After that, it enters the cutting process, namely the process of cutting plate-shaped material using a plasma cutting machine and cutting steel pipes with a bandsaw machine, then the chamfering process, which is the process of cutting corners to form a chamfer with an angle of 0 - 90 degrees, after that the Bending process, namely the process of bending on one of the bolster components, then the assembly process, namely the process of connecting a single part of the bolster and continuing the welding process using a 350 ampere GMAW welding machine, and the last is the Quality Control (QC) process, namely the material testing process using the Non Destructive Test (NDT) method. in the form of Magnetic Test (MT) and Visual Test (VT) testing. Quality Control (QC) is carried out to check the feasibility of an object being produced. If there is a workpiece that is not good then the workpiece will be repaired again. And if the workpiece is said to be feasible, it will be brought to the assembly process in the assembly division.

Abstract

Die casting is part of manufacturing process for making metal product, especially internal combustion engine of vehicle. Molding is component for making product from metallurgy process or polymer process. Basically, all part of molding process will be using 3 conditions of process. First is solid raw material for process production, second is melting process of raw material for making product using molding and third is solid for part of finish product after process molding process. In this research will analyze of molding process and structure of engine for internal combustion engine vehicle. Mold casting will be using specification for SUV capacity 2.7L. basic raw material is silica sand, resin, bentonite, and sea coal. The result show that after process mixing optimal pressure from machine to molding is 109675,8 N. and spot test check result show that, after process die casting no any crack founding by 10 specimens of engine of vehicle.

Abstract

The lower mounting cylinder is a spare part for the hydraulic scissor lift. Where the lower mounting cylinder acts as the lower hydraulic cylinder holder. Where the lower mounting cylinder is one of the important spare parts of the scissor lift. The purpose of this paper is to understand the manufacturing process, understand the types of materials used in the manufacturing process, understand product functions, and The formula for calculating the spindle acceleration of lathes and milling machines in the lower mounting cylinder manufacturing process. In the lower mounting cylinder manufacturing process, S45C carbon steel is used, including medium quality steel. In the lower mounting cylinder manufacturing process, materials are prepared, material is cut, and turning. first, the milling process, the scrap process, the second turning process, the tap process and quality control. Where is the S45C material preparation, then the first turning uses cylindrical and chamfering, then milling which creates a barrier during the scrap process, then the scrap process which changes the diameter of the workpiece to square, then the drilling process, namely punching holes in the workpiece, then the second turning process, namely boring and chamfering, then the tap process, namely the threading process in the lubricant path and quality control, namely product checking. in the milling process, the spindle speed is 663.481Rpm. Before the lower mounting cylinder is packed, a check will be carried out on the workpiece to find out whether it is feasible and the size is appropriate or not. If the workpiece is deemed fit, it will be packaged for marketing, if not, the workpiece will be destroyed.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengenalan Program Logic Controller (PLC) berdasarkan Ilmu Otomasi Industri bersama Asosiasi Dosen Muda Indonesia (ADMI). Kegiatan ini merupakan hasil kerjasama antara Universitas Gunadarma dan ADMI, dilaksanakan selama tahun ajaran ATA 2023-2024 melalui pertemuan online dan offline. Fokus kegiatan adalah pada pengenalan PLC untuk membantu masyarakat dalam pekerjaan maupun kehidupan sehari-hari, terutama di kota Bekasi. Teknis pelaksanaan kegiatan di lapangan melibatkan 4 Fakultas dengan 10 bidang ilmu terkait, seperti sistem informasi, sistem komputer, akuntansi, manajemen, teknik elektro, teknik industri, teknik mesin, teknik sipil, ilmu komunikasi, dan Sastra Inggris. Kegiatan ini merupakan terapan dari bidang unggulan Universitas dalam Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) dan disampaikan kepada Lembaga Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Universitas Gunadarma (LPM-UG) sebagai laporan monitoring dan evaluasi. Target luaran kegiatan PKM ini mencakup publikasi jurnal, dokumentasi pelaksanaan berupa video, serta peningkatan partisipasi dosen. Hasil yang diharapkan adalah meringankan beban kehidupan masyarakat dan meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka tentang PLC.

Abstract

Expand Tube is a deformation process that is carried out in a cold state, to obtain a density between the tube and the tube hole in the tube sheet. This process aims to obtain a tight/tight connection so as to prevent leaks and not be separated from the seat, while minimizing stress corrosion and cracks axially in the transition zone behind the tube sheet. heater H072: 1. Carry out the stages of expanding tube heat exchanger ethylene super heater H072. 2. Obtain data on the tube when the process of expanding the tube heat exchanger ethylene super heater H072 is carried out. 3. Know the acceptance criteria for the process of expanding tube heat exchanger ethylene super heater H072. Writing conducted research with several methods including: 1. Observation method at PT. Diamond Prima Kalorindo. 2. Interview Method. 3. Literature Study Method. PT Intan Prima Kalorindo imports materials from Korea, but these materials are controlled by PT Intan Prima Kalorindo so that these materials are in accordance with consumer demand, during the expansion process it requires 2 materials, namely Aluminum Silicon 304 Stainless Steel. The Expand process is a deformation process that is carried out in a cold state, to obtain a density between the tube and the tube hole in the tube sheet. Where the tube has reached 'plastic' while the tube sheet is still in the 'elastic' stage. This process aims to obtain a tight/tight connection so as to prevent leakage and not detach from the seat, while minimizing stress corrosion and axial cracking in the transition zone behind the tube sheet. All expand calculations refer to TEMA 10th standards (Tubular Exchanger Manufactures Associations, Inc) and API 660 (American Petroleum Institute).

Abstract

A lifter is a device used to lift and move objects or materials from one place to another. Lifters are commonly used in the industrial world, examples of lifters are forklifts, cranes, stackers, drum lifters and hydraulic lifters. A lifter is a device used to lift and move heavy objects such as wooden pallets, boxes, or other industrial goods. One of the important components of a lifter is the handle which functions as a hand grip to move the lifter. A lifter handle is a handle or hand grip to push a lifter. The right material to use as a handle lifter is SS400. SS400 (Structural Steel) is a low carbon steel (mild steel) that complies with ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) A36 or JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) G3101 standards. The Handle Lifter manufacturing process includes the cutting process, namely cutting from an initial length of 6 meters to 150mm. The milling process is cutting lengths and thicknesses with a length of 135mm with a first thickness of 13mm, a second thickness of 15mm and a third thickness of 13mm. Drilling process, where this process involves making a hole with a diameter of 10mm. The grinding process is a finishing process that aims to smooth uneven surfaces. And finally, Quality Control is carried out to check whether or not the goods being produced are suitable. Based on the calculation results, the productivity value for making Handle Lifters in 1 day was obtained, where the working hours used were 8 hours, resulting in 17 Handle Lifters.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to provide training on branding strategies for developing creative economies based on local wisdom. Conducted by Universitas Gunadarma in collaboration with the Young Indonesian Lecturers Association (ADMI), the program utilizes a multidisciplinary approach encompassing 10 fields of study, such as management, engineering, and communication. The training integrates theory and practice, leveraging information and communication technology (ICT) to support local entrepreneurs in maximizing their cultural and local potential. The program enhances the competitiveness of local products through strong brand identities, digital marketing strategies, and the development of soft skills such as creativity, adaptability, and collaboration. Through simulations and real-world case studies, participants are guided to design, test, and evaluate their branding strategies. The expected outcomes include improved local brand quality, growth of the creative economy, and strengthened cultural identity, which positively impact the sustainability of regional economies.

Abstract

The cylinder block is a housing of cylindrical tubes in which there is a cooling water channel. In these channels there is also the camshaft housing and the bearing seat tube, which is equipped with holes with various threads for attaching other parts that have to do with the cylinder block. One of the components to bind or connect the cylinder block is the Dowel Pin. The function of the Dowel Pin is to lock and close the connection between the engine block, cylinder block and head. Making Dowel Pins using S45C carbon steel material. S45C carbon steel is a medium steel with a carbon content of 0.48% already in rolled form. The process of making Dowel Pins includes, The cutting process is cutting from the initial length of 12 meters to 109 mm. The turning process is a machining process for the workpiece feeding process where the incision is made by rotating the workpiece, in this process a level lathe is carried out with a length of 109 mm and a width of 16 mm, 14 mm, 11 mm, and 7 mm. Drilling process where this process expands / enlarges the plate hole which can be done with a drill rod with a hole diameter of 4 mm. The grinding process is part of the finishing process used to remove parts of the workpiece that are uneven. And finally, Quality Control is done to check whether or not an item is produced.
