Abstract

The condenser is one of the important equipment in a power plant in the process, especially at the power plant system whose function is to condense the exhaust steam turbine extraction into water droplets (condensate water) which is then circulated back to boiler reprocessed into steam. Vacuum condenser is one of the parameters that influence the effectiveness and efficiency of the condenser in particular plants in general. This final report aims to determine the effectiveness of the condenser based on actual data, the optimal gain vacuum value, and comparison between the specifications and the actual effectiveness of the condenser. The method used is collecting data on the load condition of 50%, 75%, and 100% and then perform data analysis.Results will be presented in tables and graphs then making a conclusion. Based on the data and analysis that has been done, it is known condenser effectiveness decreases with an increase in vacuum pressure. Optimum vacuum level is on a scale (80) Kpa - (85) Kpa. From the analysis of the data also can be seen that the effectiveness of the actual data is higher than the effectiveness of the data specification.

Abstract

This paper discussed about simulation of closed loop position control system of DC servo motor in solar collector thermal power plant application. When the input position that simulated with step signal given to motor, the positional information from an output potentiometer which is mechanically coupled to a motor is feedback to control amplifier. The references position input from input step is combined with the feedback signal at the input of the amplifier which drivers the motor in proportion to the difference between two signal. In this case, the position of DC servo motor controlled with PID controller. Simulation was created by Simulink toolbox of Matlab 6.50. we found constant PID control are Kp = 1, Ki = 0,4, and Kd = 0,5.

Abstract

One form of water energy utilization is done by building a Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) in Indonesia, the Bakaru PLTA is one of the projects within PT. PLN (Persero). This project is a Hydro Power Plant Master project with a SULSELRABAR transmission located 246 km from the city of Makassar. The operation of the Bakaru hydropower system is certainly expected to work optimally, reliably and efficiently. Therefore, evaluation or data on the performance of the generator itself is needed. This study was conducted to determine the condition of the Bakaru hydropower plant based on the equivalent availability factor (EAF) and Net Capacity Factor (NCF) and Cost of Production (BPP). The data used is operating data on the Bakaru hydropower plant for 1 year. The data was obtained by using the documentation technique, while the data analysis was carried out using the Microsoft Excel program. After conducting research, it can be concluded that the condition of the Bakaru hydropower plant in 2017 is considered normal, seen from the EAF value reaching 94.15% and the average EFOR value of 2.4% with the number of Service Hours (SH) of 16,912.93 hours from 2 units. with the percentage of Service Hours to Period Hours reaching 96.53%. Meanwhile, the Net Capacity Factor of the Bakaru hydropower plant in 2017 reached 85.83%, with a total gross energy production of 945,372.50 MWh. This value exceeds the target that has been set.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan kompor sekam padi dengan aliran udara pembakaran alamiah yang dapat dioperasikan secara kontinu dan hasil pembakaran yang cukup bersih. (2) menentukan performansi kompor dengan aliran udara pembakaran alamiah. Penerapan kompor sekam padi dengan aliran udara alamiah juga diharapkan dapat mengurangi kebergantungan masyarakat khususnya masyarakat desa terhadap bahan bakar minyak, dan secara bertahap tidak lagi menjadikan minyak tanah sebagai bahan bakar utama dalam memasak. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemiringan corong bahan bakar terhadap bidang horizontal agar pengeluaran hasil pembakaran bisa secara kontinu adalah 60°. Dimensi utama rakitan kompor yang dihasilkan dalam ukuran tinggi, lebar, dan panjang adalah 420 mm × 448 mm × 448 mm. Kompor dapat beroperasi dengan pengeluaran arang hasil pembakaran secara kontinu tanpa mengganggu operasi dari kompor, sehingga kompor layak digunakan sebagai kompor memasak dalam rumah tangga. Parameter performansi kompor hasil pengujian mendidihkan air sebanyak 3 kg menunjukkan bahwa waktu strat-up kompor cukup yang singkat sebesar 23 detik, laju konsumsi bahan bakar 1,166 gr/det, konsumsi spesifik kompor sebesar 0,310 kgbb/kgbm, efisiensi termal sebesar 7,54%, dan daya yang digunakan untuk memasak 1106,6 W. Parameter performansi konsumsi spesifik menunjukkan kompor alamiah lebih boros, dan efisiensi termal yang cukup kecil menunjukkan besarnya kerugian panas secara konveksi yang terjadi pada kompor. Performansi kompor dapat diperbaiki dengan mendesain kembali bagian pelindung panas dan ruang pembakaran bahan bakar untuk mengurangi kerugian panas. Pembakaran yang lebih bersih dapat diperoleh dengan menambahkan sebuah steam injector ke dalam desain kompor.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan aditif bioetanol kedalam premium terhadap unjuk kerja dan emisi gas buang mesin bensin merk Enduro XL TD 110. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membandingkan premium murni terhadap campuran premium ditambahkan bioetanol yang berasal dari limbah tongkol jagung dengan variasi penembahan sebesar 25 ml, 50 ml, 75 ml dan 100 ml yang dilakukan pada beban konstan dan variasi putaran mulai 1500 rpm sampai 3500 rpm dengan interval 500 rpm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penambahan bioetanol kedalam premium terhadap unjuk kerja mesin bensin dimana diperoleh kenaikan daya rata-rata terbesar pada penambahan 100 ml = 0,194 kW dan penurunan emisi gas buang yang optimum diperoleh pada campuran premium dengan penambahan 100 ml dibanding variasi yang lain dengan kadar sebesar: CO = 0,84 %, CO2= 10,5 % pada putaran 3000 rpm dan HC = 42 ppm pada putaran 3500 rpm, sesuai standar baku mutu emisi gas buang yang ditetapkan pemerintah.

Abstract

Basically extraction turbine is the process of utilization of residual steam from the turbine or steam thermal energy transfer that had crashed into the turbine blade to produce rotation. Before the water is pumped into the boiler feedwater must be preheated until it reaches a certain temperature. The heating takes place by conduction by using hot steam removed (extracted) from the turbine.Retrieval of data taken at the turbine extraction system in the plant Barru. The data is in the form of temperature, pressure, flow rate, and volume as well as an image extraction turbine system. Then to develop a model in the form of a mathematical model extraction component. Further making and testing programs in the form of block Simulink simulation using MATLAB software. Perform data processing and discussion. From the simulation results will be obtained data and charts thermal efficiency of the turbine and the variation of the use of extraction will be conducted discussion. The conclusion of this study is variable extraction systems have been conducted using a manual counting of steam calculator software and a conventional formula. Variable values that have been obtained in the form= 14,95 kg/s,= 0,882 kg/s,= 4,764 kg/s,= 1,742 kg/s,= 52,905 kg/s,= -33,436 kg/s, Wp total = 15,957 kJ/kg, Qin = 2650,852 kJ/kg. Mathematical model extraction turbines are known in the form of the transfer function. The simulation results obtained with the use of thermal efficiency value of one to six extraction, with details Eks1 = 15,5%, Eks2 = 21,27%, Eks3 = 21,46%, Eks4 = 22%, Eks5 = 42%, Eks6 = 54%. From these results it is evident that the use of feedwater heater as a component of the extraction system is essential to improve the thermal efficiency of a steam power plant, especially in plant Barru.Keywords: Barru power plant, extraction, MATLAB Simulink, Thermal Efficiency.

Abstract

Research on current diffusion into the conductor is one of important segments in electrical engineering field of study. The main purpose of the study is to recognize the behaviors and characteristics of current diffusion in conductor for further development in the future. The results of the research would be very useful, particularly in the transmission line study. In this paper, study will be focused at the characteristic of current diffusion in conductor due to its variation impedance value of load particularly when resistive load is larger than the conductor impedance (Zo).

Abstract

The drying methods currently used by farmers still rely heavily on direct solar power, so that the continuity of drying to reduce water content cannot be controlled properly, which has a direct impact on the low quantity and quality of drying results, as well as poor product hygiene. Utilization of condenser waste heat from cooling machines is one of the development applications for heat pump systems. The advantages of heat pumps for the drying process include their ability to control the temperature and humidity in the drying chamber, so that they can be adjusted for various drying conditions and the drying process is more efficient and environmentally friendly. This research aims to determine the performance of drying machines for agricultural commodities (cocoa beans) using the method of developing a domestic air conditioning machine, by adding a condenser arranged in series with the main condenser to function as a drying chamber. The results of the modification of this tool consist of five main parts, namely the compressor, tray dryer room (additional condenser), main condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator. Testing of this dryer was carried out with two types of experiments, namely experiments without load and experiments with load. The test was carried out at the maximum working time of the condenser by setting the lowest working evaporator, namely 16°C. The lower the working temperature of the evaporator, the higher the working temperature of condenser 1. This is done to get maximum work from this modified dryer. Based on tests for temperature and relative humidity (RH) under load and no-load conditions, the values are not too different. After approximately 2 hours of operation or when the machine was working in steady state, the highest temperature was obtained at 87°C while the highest average RH was obtained at 78% in the drying rack space. The performance of this agricultural commodity drying machine has functioned well, especially for cocoa beans which have been dried to a standard moisture content of 7.5% in accordance with SNI 2322-2008 for an operating time of 130 minutes. The dryer system by utilizing exhaust heat from the condenser in this domestic air conditioning machine can work well without reducing its main function as indicated by the maximum temperature value of 20oC around the evaporator.

Abstract

This study uses qualitative methods on companies in Ungaran District, Bawen, Semarang Regency, Central Java with negative equity categories for 2 (two) consecutive years. A company experiencing negative equity or a condition of financial distress is a company's financial position in an unhealthy condition or crisis. Financial distress is a symbol of bankruptcy in accounting. This means that it is not yet or is not legally bankrupt. This research method uses phenomenology and hermeneutics in corporate financial failures to understand the meaning of the experiences of company managers and owners, companies, inter-subjective activities in the hermeneutic process between researchers and people who experience them. Semi-structured and ethnographic interviews, lived experience (Erlebnis), were conducted with eight (8) company research unit objects in Ungaran District, Bawen Regency, Semarang Regency, conducted for approximately 6, consecutive months. The results of this research understand (Verstehen) on the hermeneutic phenomenology of corporate financial failure caused by three things: (1) prejudice, and failure of Gadamer horizon fusion; (2) failure to "understand" Dasein's structure and Heidegger's facticity; (3) failure to understand the essence of Buber's encounter.
