Abstract

Education is a vital aspect in addressing the challenges of the 21st century. With the rapid developmentĀ of globalization, the industrial revolution 4.0, and social changes, education becomes the key to preparing individuals to succeed and remain relevant in the modern era. One crucial aspect of 21st-century education is the ability to adapt to rapid changes. The integration of technology in learning, especially through the use of digital Flipbooks, provides an innovative approach to delivering educational content. Digital Flipbooks serve as interactive teaching media that enhance students' understanding and motivation. This study focuses on designing and developing a digital Flipbook for teaching biodiversity in geography, aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. The Flipbook incorporates multimedia elements such as text, images, videos, animations, and interactive quizzes to create a meaningful and effective learning experience. The findings suggest that the Flipbook significantly enhances students' comprehension and engagement in learning biodiversity topics.

Abstract

Botubarani Village has great potential for geosite development in the Tomini Bay area, through community empowerment efforts, it is hoped that the Botubarani Village community can become an active part in the geosite development process in the Tomini Bay area. The method of implementing KKN MBKM to build villages starts from technical briefing to work program action. Students focus on field observations and interviews, in addition there are mandatory programs and community empowerment programs. The results of the mapping activities carried out produce an output in the form of maps. The results of the community empowerment program are carried out by fixing all damaged geosite infrastructure, as well as socializing to the community about tourism management. This activity involves personnel from the Botubarani Village community who have been actively involved in various stages of geosite development, from potential identification, planning, to promotion. Their participation proves that community empowerment is the main key to success in sustainable geosite development. Hopefully, it can create a broad positive impact on the community, the environment, and sustainable development in general.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a detailed and accurate flood vulnerability map to support local governments, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and other stakeholders in designing effective structural and non-structural flood mitigation strategies in North Gorontalo Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative approach employing spatial descriptive analysis was applied to assess flood vulnerability based on key physical and environmental parameters. Geospatial data constituted the primary basis of analysis and were processed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to generate spatially explicit vulnerability maps. Data were obtained from secondary sources, complemented by field observations and documentation studies. The results indicate that flood vulnerability in the study area is predominantly classified as moderate to high. Quantitatively, slightly vulnerable areas account for 28.76% of the total area, followed by moderately vulnerable areas at 28.23% and vulnerable areas at 24.48%. Very vulnerable areas cover 16.41%, while non-vulnerable areas represent only 2.11%. Spatial analysis reveals that villages located in low-lying areas, in close proximity to river channels, and characterized by gentle slope gradients exhibit the highest levels of flood vulnerability. Notably, Alatakarya, Upper Pontolo, Molingkapoto, and Katialada villages consistently fall within the vulnerable to very vulnerable categories. Overall, this study provides critical insights into flood vulnerability levels, spatial distribution patterns, and the identification of priority villages, underscoring the urgent need for targeted mitigation measures in areas with the highest flood risk.
