Abstract

Digital literacy is becoming an increasingly essential skill for educators in facing the challenges of the 21st century. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of digital literacy training for teachers at SDN 9 Kabila and identify the main challenges in adopting technology in education. The research employs an experimental approach through community service activities, involving stages of socialization, training, and evaluation of digital learning media implementation. A total of nine teachers actively participated in each session. The findings indicate that experiential-based training methods result in a more significant improvement in digital literacy skills compared to theoretical training alone. Teachers who engaged in interactive training, such as live demonstrations and digital learning media simulations, demonstrated better competency development than those who only received theoretical materials. This study reveals that while theoretical training provides a strong conceptual foundation, direct application in the classroom is more effective in fostering sustainable digital literacy skills.

Abstract

Yellowfin tuna in Gorontalo is very abundant and is often exported outside the region and even abroad as fillets, so yellowfin tuna bones are also very plentiful. The community frequently processes yellowfin tuna bones into kuah asam or namely ilahe. One of the sources of ilahe is Averrhoa bilimbi L., but the leftover tuna bones are only a source of pollution. This research focuses on processing the waste into a product of high nutritional value and highlights the novelty of a more environmentally friendly fish bone calcium extraction method. One of the main novelties of this research is the use of natural materials, namely star fruit, as an alternative for calcium extraction, which reduces dependence on harmful chemicals and supports the principle of sustainability. The extraction method used heat, followed by drying to reduce moisture content, pulverizing (blender) to reduce particle size and sieving. The calcium content in tuna bone meal was then analyzed using the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (SSA) method. The results showed that the tuna bone meal was white in colour, and the calcium content was 184.4890 mg/g or 18.45%. This product has the potential to be applied in various fields, such as food, health, animal feed, pellets, and organic fertilizer, as well as a solution to reduce fishery waste and support environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative research that aims to determine students' metacognition skills in problem solving on thermochemical material. The instrument used in this research is a 5-number description test in problem solving questions to measure students' metacognition skills. The subjects in this study were 34 students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Tapa. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis which includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, data analysis and conclusion drawing. The results showed that from the indicators of the questions given, students get an average value of the ability of metacognition skills for each indicator, namely: planning indicators by 67.8%, monitoring indicators by 48.2%, and evaluation indicators by 21.2%. The average results obtained on all indicators can be concluded that the ability of students' metacognitive skills on planning indicators is quite high, monitoring indicators are moderate, and evaluation indicators are low.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study, which aims to determine students' misconceptions about acid-base material in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa. The instrument used is Two-tier multiple choice. The research subjects used were class XI Science at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa, with a sample size of 66 students. Research data was obtained from students' answers to two-tier multiple choice questions. The data is processed based on student answer patterns, which are then grouped into categories of understanding the concept, misconception 1, misconception 2, and not understanding the concept. The research results showed that students who experienced misconception 1 (MK1) were 14.65%, and misconception 2 (MK2) were 16.23%.

Abstract

Rare earth elements (REEs) are a group of seventeen metallic elements consisting of scandium (Sc), yttrium (Y), and fifteen other lanthanide elements. Rare earth metals have an important role in various technologies, so the analysis and separation of these elements from their minerals is very important to do. This study aims to characterize the tailings through X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) techniques. The results of XRD analysis show that the mineral composition of tailings is dominated by quartz (SiO₂) with a percentage of 88%, followed by albite (NaAlSi3O8) with a percentage of 11%.  In addition, the results of XRF analysis show that the main elemental composition in the tailings consists of SiO₂ (69.294%), Al₂O₃ (20.20%), and Fe₂O₃ (4.681%). In addition, heavy metal concentrations in the tailings indicate a potentially serious risk of environmental pollution, with arsenic (As) reaching 100 ppm and mercury (Hg) more than 5 ppm. In addition, rare earth elements identified in the tailings include cerium (Ce) at 14,578 ppm, lanthanum (La) at 7,850 ppm, and neodymium (Nd) at 6,897 ppm. This method is expected to help tailings management, reduce environmental impacts, and support sustainable mineral utilization.

Abstract

Chemistry learning at the high school level often faces challenges in how to create interesting and fun learning for students. the current paradigm of chemistry subjects is often considered scary by students, so it is necessary to take an innovative approach with the main focus of this service is to create a positive and inspiring learning experience in the school environment, motivating students to be more actively involved in chemistry learning. The service aims to explore the implementation of fun chemistry practicum as a strategy to increase students' interest in learning at SMA Negeri 1 Pagimana. This practicum was designed with the aim of changing the conventional chemistry learning paradigm into a fun and memorable experience. Through interactive and visual experiments, students are invited to actively participate in practical activities involving simple chemical reactions and demonstrations that arouse their curiosity. The initial evaluation showed a positive change in students' behavior as seen from their enthusiasm in participating in this activity.
