Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil pelatihan dan pendampingan branding school dengan pembuatan video content creator ibu – ibu guru TK se-Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Tujuannya adalah meningkatkan keterampilan video content creator dan branding sekolah bagi ibu guru TK di Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Materi meliputi public speaking, perencanaan, produksi konten, serta produksi, editing, dan publikasi video. Guru diajarkan public speaking untuk komunikasi efektif, perencanaan konten menarik, dan produksi serta editing video. Hasilnya, guru-guru mampu menghasilkan konten video informatif, mempublikasikannya melalui media sosial, meningkatkan citra sekolah, dan menarik calon murid. Pendampingan ini berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara di depan umum, produksi konten menarik, serta penguasaan produksi, editing, dan publikasi video. Pendampingan ini memiliki dampak positif dalam menghubungkan guru dengan keterampilan video modern, mendukung branding sekolah, dan memperkaya komunikasi dengan masyarakat. Rekomendasi dari artikel ini adalah bahwa pendekatan serupa bisa diterapkan di lembaga pendidikan lain untuk mendukung branding dan komunikasi yang efektif. Peningkatan ini diharapkan akan memperbaiki citra sekolah dan jumlah pendaftar di masa mendatang. This article is the result of training and mentoring for branding schools by making video content creators for kindergarten teachers throughout Sidoarjo Regency. The aim is to improve the skills of video content creators and school branding for kindergarten teachers in Sidoarjo Regency. Materials include public speaking, planning, content production, as well as video production, editing and publication. Teachers are taught public speaking for effective communication, planning interesting content, and video production and editing. As a result, teachers are able to produce informative video content, publish it through social media, improve the school's image, and attract prospective students. This assistance has succeeded in improving public speaking skills, production of interesting content, as well as mastery of video production, editing and publication. This assistance has had a positive impact in connecting teachers with modern video skills, supporting school branding, and enriching communication with the community. The recommendation from this article is that a similar approach can be applied in other educational institutions to support effective branding and communication. This increase is expected to improve the image of the school and the number of applicants in the future.

Abstract

Abstract The potential for disasters in Indonesia is still quite high, especially in disaster potential areas, on December 4, 2021, the Mount Semeru APG (Hot Clouds Fall) disaster occurred which resulted in 48 deaths of people and damage to several areas around Mount Semeru which required 10,158 people to evacuate. The Mount Semeru APG disaster has received treatment from the government and social institutions. One of them is Laznas LMI which also assigns volunteers to go to disaster areas. In addition to searching for missing victims, volunteers also interact directly with survivors, researchers are interested in examining how the communication carried out by volunteers during post-disaster conditions with volunteers' therapeutic communication to the survivors, Therapeutic communication has 4 stages, namely the pre-interaction stage, the orientation stage, the work stage and the termination stage. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, the research informants are the Head of the Central LMI Emergency Response Section and representatives of the LMI Volunteers in Blitar City who also participated in the disaster location. The results of obtaining data from informants, residents still feel comfortable with the situation that occurs and are still burdensome for livelihoods.   Keywords:  Therapeutic Communication, Volunteers, APG Semeru Disaster

Abstract

Research on the communication activities of public figures, religion, politics, businessmen and other orators who represent certain groups, organizations or companies has been widely studied, but the phenomenon of communication from a company leader, especially in the media industry, is very minimally highlighted as a research object to be used as learning. The researcher analyzed Errol Jonathans' video rhetoric in building the corporate image of Suara Surabaya on the Tugu Pahlawan edition of the TEDx Talks Youtube channel. The researcher uses the content analysis method to describe the elements that tend to be highlighted by Errol Jonathans in building the company's image. This study focuses on analyzing the text content spoken in Errol Jonathans rhetoric videos. This study uses a theme analysis unit taken from the ideas of each paragraph. The purpose of this research is to find out that there are four categories of corporate image builders namely; personality, reputation, values ​​and corporate identity. The researcher describes the rhetorical forms of ethos, pathos, logos contained in Errol Jonathan's presentation. The results of this study are that Errol Jonathans tends to highlight the personality and reputation categories of the company in building a corporate image. The frequency of appearance of statements about company personality (59.37%), reputation (28.12%) then aspects of corporate values ​​and identity has a score of (6.25%). Another finding is that Errol Jonathan's presentation contains aspects of ethos, pathos and logos, the concepts put forward by Aristotle as art to persuade audiences.

Abstract

Surabaya Hebat cadres at the Gununganyar Point Center are facing challenges in digital literacy, which hinders the effective dissemination of stunting prevention information. To address this, this community service program aims to implement Appropriate Technology Digital Literacy to enhance the capacity of cadres in health promotion. The implementation method includes intensive training and operational mentoring. Cadres are trained to evaluate health information, understand digital media ethics, and apply effective communication strategies. The 12 members of the Cadres are also guided in the use of digital tools, such as web applications, infographics, and animated videos, to disseminate relevant information. The program results show an increase in digital literacy among cadres from 60 percent to 85 percent, reflecting success in building digital skills. Cadres are now more confident and effective in educating the community, as measured by increased community participation and wider dissemination of information. Health promotion activities by cadres to the community show a higher frequency of health consultations, which initially were only once a month, increasing to four times a month. The results of this activity also show an increase in community participation in stunting prevention initiatives, with the number of residents in the Sentra Point housing area participating rising by 25 percent.

Abstract

Clothing is not only a covering for the body; more than that, it is a form of human expression. Even clothing can be a clue to the identity of the wearer. This research wants to understand how students represent themselves through clothing on Instagram. The research was conducted at Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University, with the unit of analysis being photos of informants on Instagram taken while they were on campus. Secondary data was obtained through interviews with informants who own Instagram accounts. The results of the research show that the self-representation that students want to show shows the aspect of social class as a high social class and personality aspects that show a self-image as an intellectual and good person, as well as a modern aspect with trendy and stylish clothing styles as a form of progress and mobility of the times. as well as the ideological aspect which displays religious symbols and feelings of love for the country of Indonesia. Abstrak Busana bukan hanya sebagai penutup tubuh, lebih dari itu merupakan salah satu bentuk ekspresi manusia. Bahkan busana juga bisa menjadi salah satu petunjuk identitas pada diri pemakainya. Penelitian ini ingin memahami bagaimana mahasiswa merepresentasikan dirinya melalui busana di Instagram. Penelitian dilakukan di Universitas Tribhuwana Tunggadewi dengan unit analisis berupa foto-foto informan di Instagram yang diambil saat berda di lingkungan kampus. Data sekunder diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan informan pemilik akun Instagram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, representasi diri yang ingin mahasiswa ditampilkan menunjukkan adanya segi kelas sosial sebagai kelas sosial yang tinggi dan segi kepribadian yang menunjukan citra diri sebagai orang yang berintelektual dan baik, serta segi modern dengan gaya pakaian yang trendy dan stylish sebagai wujud kemajuan dan mobilitas zaman serta segi ideologi yang menampilkan simbol-simbol keagamaan dan perasaan cinta pada negara Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari permasalahan kompleks yang dihadapi santriwati baru dalam proses adaptasi budaya di Pondok Pesantren Putri Annur 2 Al-Murtadlo Malang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam proses adaptasi budaya santriwati baru, termasuk tahapan, hambatan, dan strategi komunikasi antarbudaya yang efektif untuk memfasilitasi adaptasi tersebut. Penelitian ini mengunakan teori adaptasi budaya Young Yun Kim dan teori uncertainty management Gudykunst. Menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, teknik purposive sampling informan yang akan diwawancarai yaitu santriwati baru tingkat MTs dan MA, santri senior, dan ustadzah/pengasuh. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan dokumentasi, wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model interaktif Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian didapatkan tiga tahapan dalam adaptasi santriwati baru yaitu : culture shock, penyesuaian dan pertumbuhan. Hambatan dalam proses adaptasi santriwatibaru seperti terdapatnya perbedaan bahasa dan logat yang memicu kesalahpahaman, stereotip budaya dan prasangka antardaerah dan tekanan sosial akibat aturan yang ketat dan information overload selama masa orientasi menimbulkan kecemasan serta ketidakpastian. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan wawasan teoritis dalam kajian komunikasi antarbudaya dan rekomendasi praktis bagi pengelola pesantren untuk mendukung proses adaptasi santri baru secara lebih optimal, menciptakan lingkungan yang inklusif dan kondusif untuk pembelajaran. Komunikasi antarbudaya yang efektif berperan sebagai kunci utama dalam mengelola kecemasan, mengurangi ketidakpastian, dan membangun identitas baru santri sebagai bagian dari komunitas pesantren. This study stems from the complex problems faced by new female students in the process of cultural adaptation at the Annur 2 Al-Murtadlo Islamic Boarding School for Girls in Malang. This study aims to analyze in depth the process of cultural adaptation of new female students, including the stages, obstacles, and effective intercultural communication strategies to facilitate this adaptation. This study uses Young Yun Kim's cultural adaptation theory and Gudykunst's uncertainty management theory. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the purposive sampling technique was used to select informants to be interviewed, namely new female students at the MTs and MA levels, senior students, and female teachers/caregivers. Data collection was obtained through documentation, in-depth interviews, and observation. Data analysis in this study used the Miles & Huberman interactive model. The results of the study found three stages in the adaptation of new female students, namely: culture shock, adjustment, and growth. Obstacles in the adaptation process of new female students include language and dialect differences that cause misunderstandings, cultural stereotypes and regional prejudices, and social pressure due to strict rules and information overload during the orientation period, which cause anxiety and uncertainty. The results of this study provide theoretical insights into the study of intercultural communication and practical recommendations for boarding school administrators to support the adaptation process of new students more optimally, creating an inclusive and conducive environment for learning. Effective intercultural communication plays a key role in managing anxiety, reducing uncertainty, and building a new identity for students as part of the boarding school community.
