Abstract

Leadership and organizational culture are essential elements for the success of an organization, both business organizations and public organizations. In addition to knowing how close the relationship between Servant leadership and strengthening the AKHLAK culture is, this study aims to find dominant indicators that reflect the two variables. AKHLAK culture is a corporate culture based on the company's core values. The word AKHLAK is an acronym in Indonesian. The research sample involved 200 permanent employees in the West Java State Electricity Company (SEC)-Indonesia, which is one of the government-owned companies under Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), an "inclusion sample" of employees who have worked for at least five years. The study used quantitative methods with descriptive and verificative analysis approaches. The data analysis uses SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modelling - Partial Least Squares). The results of the descriptive analysis in the study show that the implementation of servant leadership still plays a low role, and the AKHLAK culture is still not optimal. However, the verification analysis results show that Servant leadership's role strongly correlates with strengthening the AKHLAK culture.  Moreover, the dominant indicator for Servant leadership is the “Trush” indicator, while the dominant indicator for AKHLAK culture is the “Loyalty” indicator.

Abstract

Arbitration proceedings are conducted in private and confidential, a principle that is universally accepted in arbitration practice around the world. The private nature of arbitration proceedings ensures the confidentiality of the parties' disputes, given that arbitration is a forum for resolving business disputes where the evidentiary process often requires parties to present evidence in the form of business contracts containing company secrets. There are a number of countries that regulate the conduct of arbitration proceedings in an absolute closed manner, such as Indonesia. However, some countries, such as Singapore, regulate the conduct of arbitration proceedings in a non-absolute closed manner. Singapore's regulations allow for arbitration proceedings to be open in certain circumstances. Arbitration proceedings may be open if the parties to the dispute agree to open them. The arbitral tribunal may order arbitration proceedings to be open in disputes involving the public interest. Conducting arbitration proceedings in the open can provide legal protection for the public and fulfill the right to social control over an arbitration dispute involving the public interest. The concept of regulating open arbitration proceedings can be applied in Indonesia to disputes involving the public interest, such as arbitration disputes involving the government, local governments, state-owned company, and regional-owned company (known as BUMN and BUMD).

Abstract

Shortness of breath, known as dyspnea, is a symptom that affects 40 to 70% of patients with HIV/AIDS during their hospital stays. Nonetheless, the prevalence and severity of dyspnea among individuals attending outpatient clinics remain inadequately understood. Evaluating dyspnea in the outpatient care setting is essential for preventing further complications and enhancing the quality of life for these patients. This study aims to assess the factors associated with the incidence and severity of dyspnea in individuals diagnosed with HIV in an outpatient context. Additionally, it examines the demographic characteristics of the study population. A cross-sectional observational study was conducted across 68 HIV outpatients. The incidence and severity of dyspnea were evaluated utilizing the Modified Borg Scale (MBS), and bivariate analyses were conducted. The results showed that among 64 individuals (94.1%), 64 exhibited dyspnea. The severity of dyspnea was categorized as follows: no breathlessness (4; 5.9%), very slight (8; 11.8%), very mild (15; 22.1%), mild (10; 14.7%), moderate (11; 16.2%), somewhat severe (7; 10.3%), severe (11; 16.2%), and very severe (2; 2.9%). Statistical analysis revealed no significant association between demographic factors and the incidence of dyspnea (p > 0.05), nor was there a correlation between demographic characteristics and the severity of dyspnea (p > 0.05). In conclusion, the Modified Borg Scale, which incorporates the 6-minute walking test as an assessment tool, can objectively identify and monitor the risk for more severe respiratory complications, even among patients without a prior diagnosis of pulmonary comorbidities.

Abstract

This study explores the significance of ethics education at SMPN 16 Krui, Pesisir Barat, with a particular focus on the implementation of values derived from Surah Al-Isra' verses 23–24, which emphasize respect for parents and other core Islamic ethical principles. The background of the study highlights behavioral challenges among students, such as a lack of respect toward teachers and low moral awareness. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that ethics education is implemented through both formal instruction and non-formal activities, including a "Character Week" program and daily routines such as queuing culture and congregational prayers. Interactive methods like group discussions and role-playing have proven effective in helping students internalize ethical values. The values embodied in Surah Al-Isra’ verses 23–24—such as compassion, humility, and patience—are highly relevant to contemporary educational contexts and are integrated into students' daily activities. Challenges in implementation include students’ low awareness, limited parental support, inadequate facilities, and a lack of teacher training. Nevertheless, regular evaluations and strong collaboration between schools and parents serve to enhance the program’s effectiveness. This study makes a tangible contribution to the development of character education based on Qur’anic values, particularly at SMPN 16 Krui, and presents a model that can be adapted by other schools.
