Abstract

This study was a qualitative descriptive study to describe the design and implementation of problem-based learning models and determine the teachers' obstacles in teaching explanation text of the eleventh grade at SMK Negeri 3 Kudus. The subjects of this study were teachers and eleventh-grade students of SMK Negeri 3 Kudus. The methods of data collection in this study were observation and interview records. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive methods. The research's findings are that teachers arrange problem-based learning models in the lesson plan based on the components of the 2013 curriculum. Secondly, teachers apply problem-based learning models that conform to problem syntax. Third, the obstacles encountered when applying problem-based learning models to teach explanation text came from the teacher's experience in identifying interesting topics and the teacher's ability in the time management needed for learning because this learning model requires a longer time. From the student's point of view, more attention is needed to describe the differences in student abilities. Further, the lack of ability to think critically becomes a challenging obstacle for teachers because the problem-based learning model requires students to be able to think critically.

Abstract

This study aimed to understand how to implement class-based assessment in the lesson plan that covered class-based cognitive aspects, class-based affective aspects, and class-based psychomotor aspects. This study used research subjects, including lesson plans and essay review materials on Indonesian topics, level 2 high school lesson plans, fiction text materials, and level 3 high school lesson plans with historical text materials. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The source of data was three lesson plans with different texts and topics. The reserach findings reveal that the first lesson plan does not include a self-assessment sheet that can be used as an instrument in assessing students' effectiveness. In contrast, the second and third lesson plans have fulfilled all assessment forms related to students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor assessments.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the BIPA program and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. The research method used is the CIPP evaluation method which includes context, input, process, and product analysis. Data were collected through interviews and classroom observations. The results showed that in the context aspect, the BIPA program at UIN Walisongo has been adjusted to the needs and cultural background of foreign students. The input aspect shows that the curriculum and teaching materials have been well organized, although they still need some improvements to better suit the latest developments in language teaching. In the process aspect, it was found that interactive teaching methods and the use of information technology have increased students' active participation in learning. However, there are challenges in terms of classroom management and adaptation of teaching methods for different levels of students' language ability. The product aspect showed that the program succeeded in significantly improving foreign students' Indonesian language proficiency, although there is still room for improvement especially in speaking and writing skills. This study concludes that the evaluation approach with the CIPP model can provide a comprehensive view of the BIPA program at UIN Walisongo

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk metafora dan makna dalam kebudayaan Jawa pada puisi Kukusan dalam antologi puisi Ibu Menanak Nasi hingga Matang Usia Kami karya Emi Suy. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan stilistika. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pembacaan semiotik tingkat pertama yaitu heuristik. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah pembacaan semiotik tingkat kedua yakni hermeneutik. Data penelitian ini dari penggalan puisi kukusan yang terdapat majas metafora bermakna kebudayaan Jawa dalam antologi puisi Ibu Menanak Nasi hingga Matang Usia Kami karya Emi Suy. Hasil penelitian ini metafora nasi sebagai entitas penting dalam kehidupan manusia di Jawa benar-benar mencerminkan betapa besar peran ibu dan pertumbuhan anak-anak di dalam konteks masyarakat Jawa. Dalam metafora ini, ibu diibaratkan sebagai "pencipta" nasi, karena dia yang bertanggung jawab untuk memasak, merawat, dan memberikan makanan kepada keluarganya. Ini mencerminkan peran ibu sebagai penyedia yang penuh perhatian dan tanggung jawab dalam memastikan keluarga memiliki cukup makanan. Dalam budaya Jawa, nasi bukan hanya makanan, tetapi juga simbol kehidupan. Nasi adalah makanan pokok yang memberikan energi dan nutrisi yang diperlukan untuk bertahan hidup. Dalam konteks ini, ibu berperan penting dalam memastikan keluarganya mendapatkan makanan yang cukup dan berkualitas. Penggunaan kukusan bambu sebagai cara tradisional memasak nasi menyoroti pentingnya memelihara tradisi dan budaya Jawa. Ini menggambarkan bagaimana nilai-nilai dan tradisi etnik dilestarikan oleh masyarakat Jawa, seiring dengan pengaruh modernisasi. Kata Kunci: Kebudayaan Jawa, Metafora, Puisi

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penggunaan teori inclusion Leeuwen dalam berita tema kriminal di CNN.com Edisi Agustus 2022. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tiga tahap, (1) membaca dan memahami wacana dengan tema kriminal di CNN.com Edisi Agustus 2022 tujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang jelas tentang isi wacana yang akan diteliti, (2) menandai bagianbagian wacana yang berhubungan dengan teori inclusioan Leeuwen, dan (3) menginventarisasi kalimat dalam wacana yang berhubungan dengan teori inclusioan Leeuwen dengan menggunakan format inventarisasi data. Penganalisisan data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis dari Theo Van Leeuwen untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana peristiwa dan aktor digambarkan dalam pemberitaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan, teori inklusi Leeuwen yang ditemukan pada satu judul berita kriminal dengan tema pembunuhan di CNN.com dan Detik.com Edisi Agustus 2022 menunjukkan bahwa bentuk teori inklusi Leeuwen yang ditemukan dalam satu berita di media online ini bahwa CNN.com dalam berita tentang Kronologi Pembunuhan Gusti Mirah di Bali, Tewas di Tangan Pacar cenderung menggunakan strategi inkluisi. CNN.com memiliki kecenderungan dengan menyembunyikan pelakunya baik dalam menggunakan strategi inklusi, dalam menulis berita kriminal dengan tema pembunuhan wartawan memarjinalkan korban. Penulis (wartawan) tidak berpihak pada actor atau pelaku dan juga tidak berpihak pada korban dari dua berita online yang dianalisis yang memarjinalkan korban dan pelaku pembunuhan. Penulis tidak menyebutkan secara detail siapa saja pelaku dan korbannya. Penulis hanya menggunakan kata tersangka, inisial nama dan korban dalam pemberitaan tersebut. The aim of this research is to analyze the use of Leeuwen's inclusion theory in crime-themed news on CNN.com's August 2022 Edition. Data collection was carried out in three stages, (1) reading and understanding discourse with a crime theme on CNN.com's August 2022 Edition with the aim of gaining a clear understanding be clear about the content of the discourse to be studied, (2) mark parts of the discourse that are related to Leeuwen's theory of inclusion, and (3) make an inventory of sentences in the discourse that are related to Leeuwen's theory of inclusion using a data inventory format. Data analysis was carried out descriptively. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a critical discourse analysis approach from Theo Van Leeuwen to describe how events and actors are depicted in the news. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that Leeuwen's theory of inclusion found in a crime news title with the theme of murder on CNN.com and Detik.com August 2022 Edition shows that Leeuwen's form of inclusion theory found in a news story in this online media is CNN.com in News about the Chronology of the Murder of Gusti Mirah in Bali, Killed at the Hands of Her Boyfriend tends to use an inclusion strategy. CNN.com has a tendency to hide the perpetrators both in using inclusion strategies, in writing crime news with the theme of murder, journalists do not marginalize the victims. The writer (journalist) does not side with the actor or perpetrator and also does not side with the victim of the two online news stories analyzed which marginalize the victim and perpetrator of the murder. The author did not mention in detail who the perpetrators and victims were. The author only used the words suspect, initials and victim in the report.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini berupaya untuk melakukan penelitian dengan judul “Literasi Budaya pada Mitos “Seni Barongan Kudus” Sebagai Nilai Kearifan Lokal”. Cerita ini mengandung nilai kearifan lokal yang menarik yang bisa dikembangkan untuk pembentukan literasi budaya lokal anak Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan etnografi sebagai salah satu strategi penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggabungkan dua metode utama, yaitu wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif (interactive model analysis) adalah pendekatan yang umum digunakan dalam penelitian kualitatif. Dalam konteks penelitian ini, analisis data melibatkan tiga komponen pokok, yaitu reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil analisis nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terdapat dalam cerita Seni Barongan di Kudus, dapat diambil beberapa kesimpulan: (1) kearifan dalam disiplin dan keterampilan; (2) kedamaian dan keberagaman agama; (3) penghargaan terhadap budaya lokal; (4) pemeliharaan keseimbangan alam; (5) sikap tanggap terhadap perubahan; (6) kepemimpinan yang bijaksana. Pentingnya melestarikan dan menghargai kearifan lokal, terutama melalui cerita rakyat seperti "Singo Barong" dalam Seni Barongan Kudus. Pesan moral dan budaya yang terkandung dalam cerita ini memang mencerminkan keharmonisan antara tradisi lokal dan perubahan sosial, serta pentingnya menjaga keseimbangan dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Literasi budaya tidak hanya membantu anak-anak memahami identitas bangsa Indonesia tetapi juga mempromosikan sikap toleransi dan penghargaan terhadap keberagaman budaya yang ada di seluruh nusantara.  The aim of this research is to attempt to conduct research with the title "Cultural Literacy on the Myth of "Seni Barongan Kudus" as a Local Wisdom Value". This story contains interesting local wisdom values that can be developed to form local cultural literacy in elementary school children. The research method used is an ethnographic approach as a qualitative research strategy. This research data collection technique combines two main methods, namely in-depth interviews and observation. Data analysis techniques using interactive models (interactive model analysis) are an approach commonly used in qualitative research. In the context of this research, data analysis involves three main components, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the analysis of local wisdom values contained in the story of Barongan Art in Kudus, several conclusions can be drawn: (1) wisdom in discipline and skills; (2) peace and religious diversity; (3) respect for local culture; (4) maintenance of natural balance; (5) responsiveness to change; (6) wise leadership. The importance of preserving and appreciating local wisdom, especially through folk tales such as "Singo Barong" in the Kudus Barongan Art. The moral and cultural messages contained in this story reflect the harmony between local traditions and social change, as well as the importance of maintaining balance in people's lives. Cultural literacy not only helps children understand the identity of the Indonesian nation but also promotes attitudes of tolerance and appreciation for the cultural diversity that exists throughout the archipelago.

Abstract

This article discusses a stylistic study focusing on comparative figurative language in the collection of poems from Ibu Menanak Nasi hingga Matang Usia Kami Poetry by Emi Suy. The purpose of this study is to describe the form of a comparative figure of speech in the poetry anthology of Ibu Menanak Nasi hingga Matang Usia Kami Poetry. This study uses a stylistic approach. The source of the data in this study was the anthology of the poem Ibu Menanak Nasi hingga Matang Usia Kami Poetry by Emi Suy published in 2022. The data collection technique used the first level semiotic reading technique, namely heuristic reading. The data analysis technique uses the structuralism-semiotic method, the researcher uses the second level reading technique, namely the hermeneutic technique. The data examined in this poem is in the form of stanzas in the poem which will later be used to find out the use of figure of speech. The results of this study are that the researcher found the most dominant comparative figure of speech, namely: (1) metaphorical figure of speech with 7 data (2) simile figure of speech with 3 data (3) personification figure of speech with 2 data (4) allegory figure of speech with 3 data (5) alusio figure of speech with 2 data and (5) a figure of speech on tautology 2 data. This collection of poems uses a comparative figure of speech, a combination of metaphors and similes which become dominant in it so that the poems seem unfathomable, full of possibilities and full of ambiguity, connotations and metaphors are left in the poetry with the result that in the poem Ibu Menanak Nasi hingga Matang Usia Kami Poetry is felt to exhibit agility, agility, and fluency in playing Indonesian. Poetic suspense is scattered in several titles of these poems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan peran guru bahasa Indonesia  dalam gerakan literasi membaca dan menulis pada sekolah menengah pertama SMP NU Al-Ma’ruf Kudus kelas tujuh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data primer dalam penelitian ini hasil wawancara yang dilakukan guru bahasa Indonesia dan siswa. Sedangkan data sekunder dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi. Dokumentasi adalah salah satu jenis data sekunder yang umumnya digunakan dalam penelitian. Data sekunder seringkali merujuk pada bentuk elektronik, seperti catatan historis, laporan statistik, survei sebelumnya, atau sumber-sumber lain yang berisi informasi relevan yang diperlukan dalam penelitian. Sumber data yaitu guru bahasa Indonesia dan siswa kelas tujuh SMP NU Al-Ma’ruf Kudus. Hasil dari penelitian ini SMP NU Al-Ma'ruf Kudus telah mengimplementasikan program gerakan literasi yang komprehensif untuk kelas 7, yang melibatkan berbagai kegiatan literasi seperti membaca Al-Qur'an, membaca buku, pengelolaan perpustakaan, dan pojok literasi. Selain itu, peran guru dalam mendukung literasi siswa melibatkan banyak aspek penting. Berikut ini beberapa poin terkait dengan peran guru dalam gerakan literasi di SMP NU Al-Ma'ruf Kudus. Peran guru dalam membaca melalui GLS: (1) membimbing siswa dalam menemukan buku yang tepat (2) fasilitator pembelajaran (3) motivator. Sedangkan peran guru dalam menulis melalui GLS (1) melatih siswa dalam menciptakan karya tulis (2) fasilitator dengan memberikan rasa senang siswa (3) (4)mengevaluasi hasil kerja siswa. Peran guru dalam menulis melalui GLS  sangat penting dalam meningkatkan literasi siswa dan menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung perkembangan literasi yang positif di SMP NU Al-Ma'ruf Kudus. Guru yang memainkan peran dengan baik dalam GLS dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan kemampuan menulis yang lebih baik. Mereka mengajarkan siswa tentang berbagai genre tulisan dan membantu mereka memahami struktur, bahasa, dan konvensi yang terkait dengan masing-masing genre. Akibatnya, siswa dapat menulis dengan lebih baik dan lebih kompeten dalam berbagai konteks. Melalui metode GLS yang menarik dan mendukung, guru dapat membantu meningkatkan minat siswa dalam membaca dan menulis. Siswa yang merasa bahwa menulis adalah suatu hal yang relevan dan bermanfaat akan lebih termotivasi untuk belajar.Kata kunci: GLS, Peran Guru, Menulis dan Membaca

Abstract

Character education in Indonesia is currently facing various challenges, especially due to the growing social dynamics influenced by global culture, which tends to overlook local cultural values. In this context, literary works, particularly poetry, play a vital role in conveying messages of local wisdom that deeply influence character development. The poem collection Ayat Sunyi by Emi Suy highlights the importance of values such as cooperation, tolerance, honesty, justice, wisdom, human-nature relations, and religiosity. Using a literary sociology approach and sociological theory, this study reveals that local wisdom values, as part of social morality, are strongly portrayed in the poems. The analysis shows that the poems not only depict harmony between humans and nature but also emphasize the role of women as guardians of cultural values and agrarian spirituality. These poems emphasize the importance of preserving cultural traditions that are now being marginalized, while also educating students to appreciate their culture, value life, and develop responsible character. Thus, the poems serve a significant role in shaping a better young generation by instilling values of local wisdom that nurture individuals to be caring, empathetic, and deeply rooted in national identity. The symbolism of Dewi Sri, the earth, and prayer in the poems provides a strong foundation for reinforcing character education, preparing Indonesia's Golden Generation to become individuals of noble character, empathy, and cultural integrity.
