Problems that occur, the study of the role of promotion from a comprehensive and integrated perspective has not been done much. Many promotions are interpreted as an effort to convey information to the stage of carrying out purchasing/travel activities. The purpose of this article is to analyze the perceptions of the academic community regarding the meaning of promotion through printed and audio-visual material for nature-based tourism in a comprehensive and integrated manner, as well as to determine the factors that influence decision-making by the academic community to actually visit nature-based tourism destinations. The distribution of questionnaires was conducted using a sample of academic community consisting of three categories, namely, lecturers, ecotourism students, and communication students with a total of 270 respondents to assess printed and audio-visual material. Data analysis was performed using One Score One Indicator Scoring System, Kruskal Wallis Test, and Dunn test. The results of the study show that tourism promotion can be effective and needs to implement seven phases of comprehensive and integrated promotion meaning. The opinions of the respondents of the academic community are not polar and illustrated the factors that influence the decision to do an actual visit. Factors that influence the form of psychological factors (motivation, the intensity of exposure to information about natural tourism), besides personal factors and demographic characteristics of respondents. Abstract

The dynamic of 3-parties conflict of interests (investor, local people and government) in having actual income from the nature tourism park business in Indonesia became worse since a “very progressive” Government Regulation on Forestry Related Services Tariff (so called PP 12/2014) was issued. On one hand, everybody agrees to improve the 17 years old tariff regulation of PP 59/1998. On the other hand, the “unclear reason” of the new tariffs in PP 12/2014 has shocked many parties and created many difficulties while implemented. This paper studies visitors’ expenditures and their willingness to pay (WTP) for every recreation services scenario by using contingent valuation method (CVM) survey with open-ended eliciting questionnaire instrument. Regarding the characteristic of Gunung Pancar Forest Tourism Park (GPFTP) the method was used to justify a reasonable and eligible ticket pricing strategy at the GPFTP as a quasi-public recreation park. The survey has also specifically addressed the reasonable ticket-price that aligns with the financial assumption of investor's business plan and local people's economic activities. Results of the survey show that the continuum of visitors’ WTP is ranging from 3.4 times (as the response to scenario-1) up to 12.7 times (as the response to scenario-5) of the recent ticket price. The WTP of scenario-2, 3 and 4 are ranging from 4.7, 6.2 and 7.5 times, respectively. Furthermore, the results of Tobit Regression Analysis show that seven important variables are positively correlated, while six variables are negatively correlated with the WTP.

Abstract

Interpretation subject is a novel approach to observing resources in the interpretation program. Interpretation programs refer to the efforts to develop an individual's ability to deeply interpret the value of nature for humans through meaningful and pleasant experiences, impressions, and feelings to achieve management goals. The viewpoint of interpretation subject considers the intrinsic value of each resource. These polarization studies provide valuable information on critical issues concerning stakeholder perception and their implications for managing interpretations. The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the characteristics of the interpretation subject that stakeholders thought were crucial in Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park management. The survey was done by distributing questionnaires to related stakeholders (tourists, communities, and area managers/tour operators) and evaluated by cluster analysis, Kruskal-Wallis, and Mann-Whitney test. Although the stakeholder considered flora, language, and abiotic components essential in interpretation, tourists' perception tended to focus on abiotic components and the built natural environment. The research showed that abiotic and cultural component-based-ecotourism-programs shall be developed to ensure sustainable management, increase community participation, and introduce the biological wealth in the national park area

Abstract

In addition to providing multiplier economy benefits, the tourism sector also has the potential to cause several latent and massive social negative impacts Based on this, it is important to map local community perceptions. This research on the existence of local community culture in the Bopunjur ecotourism area aims to analyze the existence of local community culture in Bopunjur, West Java with research respondents from five stakeholder groups, namely traditional leaders, religious leaders, educational leaders, community leaders, and tourism actors in seven ecotourism destinations. The exploratory–phenomenology approach was used to collect data on socio-cultural dynamics by purposive sampling using a questionnaire designed with a closed pattern (close-ended) to be distributed to informants and respondents, which was then processed using a score-one indicator scoring system. The polarization of stakeholder perceptions of cultural values is identified from two categories, namely: direction polarization and scale polarization. The results show the Bopunjur’s culture still exists quite well because there is a polarization of stakeholder orientation on various aspects and assessment criteria regarding various cultural elements with a positive direction and a polarization scale that is categorized as aligned, except for the cultural elements of the art system and the language system which tend to be positive and not aligned so that development Ecotourism in the Bopunjur area has not been fully achieved, but there is a great opportunity to build productive collaboration between stakeholders in the context of developing ecotourism in the area.
