Abstract

Companies in serving consumers must comply with the requested orders such as timeliness in delivery and product quality is very important. PT. XYZ has problems in scheduling deliveries to avoid delays. Delays in product delivery will cause consumers to feel disadvantaged and will experience a buildup of goods in the storage area, this can happen because the delivery schedule has not been well structured. The purpose of this study is expected to be an initial solution in handling product delivery cases so that there are no delays in the delivery process. The method used in this research to overcome problems in scheduling is the Shipping Operation Diagram method in determining the arrival pattern of goods transport vehicles arrive at a predetermined time, calculating the length of time delays in delivery, and improving information tools so that the delivery schedule is on time. Based on the results obtained, deliveries will be made from 08.00 to 16.00, with a break time of only one hour from 12.00 – 13.00. The truck carrying capacity is 2261. There are 4 shipments of products to each destination for 1 day. Subsequent deliveries will be made at 08.30 the next day. The expected results using the Shipping Operation Diagram method can be used to adjust the arrival time of goods transport vehicles and arrange so that there is no buildup in the storage area.Perusahaan dalam melayani konsumen harus sesuai berdasarkan pesanan yang diminta seperti ketepatan waktu dalam pengiriman dan kualitas produk sangatlah penting. PT. XYZ mengalami permasalahan dalam penjadwalan pengiriman untuk menghindari adanya keterlambatan. Keterlambatan dalam pengiriman produk akan menyebabkan konsumen merasa dirugikan serta akan mengalami penumpukan barang didalam area penyimpanan, hal itu bisa terjadi dikarenakan jadwal pengiriman belum tersusun dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini diharapkan bisa menjadi solusi awal dalam menangani kasus pengiriman produk agar tidak terjadinya keterlambatan dalam proses pengiriman. Metode yang digunakan dalam penilitian ini untuk mengatasi permasalan dalam penjadwalan yaitu metode Shipping Operation Diagram dalam menentukan pola kedatangan kendaraan angkutan barang untuk tiba pada waktu yang telah ditentukan, menghitung lama waktu keterlambatan dalam pengiriman, dan memperbaiki alat informasi agar jadwal pengiriman tepat waktu. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah diperoleh pengiriman akan dilakukan pada pukul 08.00 hingga pukul 16.00, dengan break time hanya satu jam pada pukul 12.00 – 13.00. Kapasitas angkut truknya sebanyak 2261. Pengiriman produk ke masing-masing tujuan selama 1 hari terdapat 4 kali pengiriman. Pengiriman selanjutnya dilakukan pada pukul 08.30 keesokan harinya. Hasil yang diharapkan dengan menggunakan metode Shipping Operation Diagram bisa dijadikan untuk mengatur waktu kedatangan kendaraan angkutan barang dan mengatur agar tidak terjadi penumpukan didalam area penyimpanan.

Abstract

The process of distributing goods is very influential on the profits that will be obtained by the company. This makes it important to plan the product distribution process so that the transportation costs incurred are kept to a minimum. PT.X is a company engaged in the food and soft drink industry and is included in the fast moving consumer goods (FCMCG) category which focuses more on distributing its products in supermarkets. Comprehensive marketing is PT. X's strategy so that their products can be closer to consumers. Products will be sent from distributors according to demand to retailers spread across various cities and regencies in West Java. The transportation method used is the North West Corner (NWC) method as the initial solution and Lingo Software as the optimal solution. The application of the initial solution using the North West Corner (NWC) method obtains a shipping cost of Rp.20,702,219. From the results of these calculations, then proceed to find out the optimal solution using Lingo software. The results obtained using Lingo software are Rp. 20,700,920. These results get optimal results because the value obtained is lower than using the North West Corner method.Proses distribusi barang sangat berpengaruh pada keuntungan yang akan diperoleh oleh perusahaan. Hal itu membuat pentingnya melakukan perencanaan terhadap proses distribusi produk agar biaya transportasi yang dikeluarkan seminimum mungkin. PT.X merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di industri makanan dan minuman ringan serta termasuk ke dalam kategori fast moving consumer goods (FCMCG) yang lebih memfokuskan untuk mendistribusikan produknya di toko swalayan.  Pemasaran yang dilakukan secara menyeluruh menjadi strategi PT.X supaya produk mereka bisa   lebih   dekat   dengan   konsumen. Produk akan dikirim dari distributor sesuai dengan permintaan menuju retailer yang tersebar diberbagai kota dan kabupaten di Jawa barat. Metode Transportasi yang digunakan yaitu metode North West Corner (NWC) sebagai solusi awal dan Software Lingosebagai solusi optimal. Penerapan solusi awal menggunakan metode North West Corner (NWC) memperoleh biaya pengiriman yaitu sebesar . Dari hasil perhitungan tersebut, kemudian dilanjutkan untuk mengertahui solusi optimalnya menggunakan Software Lingo. Hasil yang didapat menggunakan Software Lingo senilai Rp. 20.700.920. Perolehan tersebut mendapat hasil yang optimal karena nilai yang diperoleh hasilnya lebih minimum dibandingkan dengan menggunakan metode North West Corner (NWC).

Abstract

The increasing demand for filling oxygen cylinders makes CV. Tasman Gases has always been consistent in planning transportation cost optimization strategies. The filling of oxygen cylinders in one distribution can transport up to 45 tubes sent to the concerned partner. The purpose of this study is to determine the shortest route and optimal cost in distributing. The method used is Complete Enumeration. The samples used include distribution locations and mileage. The procedure used begins with determining the number of routes, estimated mileage and fuel costs. There is the most optimal route selected from the 12 modeled routes. The selected route has the least transportation costs. This research makes CV. Tasman Gases has the best route, A-D-C-E-F with a distance of 10.9 km worth Rp. 10,423.13.  This value is more effective than the existing A-E-C-D-F condition with a distance of 12.8 km obtaining fuel costs of Rp. 12,240.00. Thus, the distribution route and costs that have been optimal make CV. Tasman Gases can implement and identify future transportation constraints.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of raw material inventory management using the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) method to minimize inventory costs in CV. Nur Rahmat Teknik. The company faces the challenges of conventional inventory management, which often leads to excess or shortage of raw materials as well as high storage costs. This research method was carried out using a quantitative method with the data source used being secondary data through historical data of company requests. The MRP method in the study was applied to identify raw material needs based on historical demand data, calculate optimal order schedules, and evaluate their impact on inventory costs. Four forecasting methods were used, namely Double Moving Average, Double Exponential Smoothing from Brown, Double Exponential Smoothing From Holt, and Linear Regression, to determine the forecasting method used and the level of accuracy of predicting raw material needs. The lot sizing techniques used in this MRP method are Economic Order Quantity, Periodic Order Quantity, and Lot for Lot. The results show that the application of the MRP method significantly reduces inventory costs by optimizing the booking lot size and booking schedule. These findings provide valuable insights into more efficient inventory management, improving the company's competitiveness and profitability. Practical recommendations are given for the sustainable implementation of the MRP method in the company's operations

Abstract

PT. ABC is a company engaged in the plastic manufacturing industry that produces a wide range of products, from automotive plastics, cosmetic plastics, houseware plastics, health plastics to plastics for pharmaceutical purposes. Meeting customer needs in a timely manner is necessary so that customers have satisfaction with company services. The problems experienced by PT ABC. is the arrangement in scheduling automatic product delivery to customers. This research is aimed at using the Shipping Opertaion Diagram method in determining the hours of departure and arrival of trucks by considering the pulling time of late delivery and visualizing delivery information to make it right on target. The results of this study are expected to be able to adjust the departure time for delivery of goods based on product storage.

Abstract

The Sumatra region plays a significant role in Indonesia's economy. In 2022, for instance, the region contributed 22.04% to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), ranking just below Java, the largest contributor. Sumatra is rich in various resources such as plantations, oil, gas, and geothermal energy. However, the operational activities of freight transportation in Sumatra, particularly West Sumatra, still face several challenges stemming from the transportation system and environmental conditions. This research was conducted to explore the opportunities, challenges, strengths, and weaknesses of implementing a synchromodal transportation system in Sumatra as an analysis for its implementation. The study used the Synchromodality Framework and SWOT Analysis. Several transportation collaboration models have been developed, including unimodality, intermodality, multimodality, and synchromodality. Each model has its advantages and disadvantages and is applied based on the characteristics of the transportation system. Related studies have been conducted on multimodal transport, hub & spoke for regional transportation, and single-mode transport. The study concluded that the advantages of implementing a synchromodal transportation system in Sumatra include better utilization of available resources concerning real-time aspects, flexibility, collaboration and coordination, and synchronization. Its weaknesses are related to the need for collaboration networks among transportation operators from different business sectors. The opportunities for implementing synchromodal transportation in Sumatra include real-time aspects, flexibility, collaboration and coordination, synchronization, and commodity and regional factors. The challenges relate to the complexity of planning synchromodal transportation networks and routes, as well as the need for technological and information system support

Abstract

Efficient product design is one of the most important factors in improving the operational performance of a company, especially in the manufacturing sector. The purpose of this study is to optimize the layout of the solar panel assembly warehouse at PT. XYZ using two methods: the ABC classification method and the warehouse layout design method. To minimize the time and cost involved in the goods development process, the warehouse layout design method is used to determine the ideal placement of goods in the warehouse. In contrast, the ABC classification is used to group goods according to their value and frequency of use in order to prioritize the delivery of goods with high Orders/days and to determine the high value of the goods in question. The results of this study indicate that the application of both methods can improve the efficiency of storage space and accelerate the existing barangay development process, which has a significant impact on reducing operational costs and increasing productivity. This study offers strategic recommendations to improve the warehouse layout design of PT. XYZ in order to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and optimize the management of nut spare parts inventory at PT FGH using the ABC Classification method and the Q Back order Model. ABC classification is used to group 20 types of spare parts based on the value of fund absorption and frequency of demand, so as to determine management priorities. The analysis results show that 70.66% of the funds are allocated to category A, which includes components with high consumption value and significant demand frequency. Meanwhile, the Q Back order Model is applied to calculate the optimal ordering lot size (q0), safety stock (ss), reorder point (r), and service level (η), with a high level of inventory cost efficiency. The results of applying the Q Back order Model show total cost savings for category A, with the lowest total inventory cost of Rp113,591,283 and the highest of Rp528,899,608. The combination of the ABC Classification method and the Q Back order Model provides an effective solution in managing inventory strategically, minimizing costs, reducing the risk of stock shortages, and maintaining a smooth production process. The implementation of this method can be a reference for more efficient and sustainable inventory management at PT FGH

Abstract

Problems in inventory management often lead to wasteful costs or stock shortages that can disrupt the company's operational efficiency. PT X faces the challenge of managing fluctuating demand for 60/20 sewing thread, the company's main product, effectively and efficiently. This study aims to overcome this problem by applying the Double Moving Average (DMA) method for demand forecasting and the Wagner Within algorithm for inventory cost optimization. The DMA forecasting results show high accuracy in predicting demand patterns, while the Wagner Within algorithm successfully minimizes total inventory costs by Rp9,780,600 during the January-December 2024 period. The combination of these two methods proves its effectiveness in supporting strategic inventory management decisions at PT X.

Abstract

One of the commonly used equipment for transporting goods from one location to another is the forklift. Observations indicate that the availability rate of rented forklift units at PT XYZ is better than that of company-owned units. The purpose of this study is to analyse the decision-making process for forklift procurement at PT XYZ. The selection of the best forklift rental supplier will utilize the AHP method, while the economic analysis for forklift procurement will utilize decision analysis tools such as NPV and BCR. The study results show that the supplier SML (Heli) has the highest priority weight of 0.3419. The economic analysis using the NPV and BCR methods reveals that rental procurement is more favourable than purchase the unit. Thus, it can be concluded that renting forklift units from supplier SML (Heli) is the optimal decision for the company. Peralatan yang sering digunakan untuk mengalirkan barang dari satu tempat ke tempat yang lain salah satunya adalah forklift. Dalam pengamatan didapatkan bahwa tingkat ketersediaan unit forklift sewa di PT XYZ lebih baik dibandingkan dengan tingkat ketersediaan unit milik sendiri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengambilan keputusan pengadaan forklift di PT XYZ. Pemilihan supplier sewa forklift terbaik akan menggunakan metode AHP. Sedangkan analisis ekonomi teknik pengadaan forklift menggunakan tools analisis keputusan yaitu NPV dan BCR. Dari penelitian dihasilkan keputusan bahwa supplier SML (Heli) memiliki bobot prioritas tertinggi sebesar 0,3419. Analisis ekonomi teknik dengan metode NPV dan BCR menunjukkan pengadaan sewa lebih baik dibandingkan pengadaan beli. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan keputusan sewa unit forklift ke supplier SML (Heli) adalah keputusan terbaik bagi perusahaan.
