Abstract

Salah satu sampah rumah tangga yang sulit dikelola adalah sampah plastik. Sampah plastik menjadi objek yang perlu dikelola dengan baik dalam aktivitas green logistics karena dapat meningkatkan ekonomi sirkular dari sampah yang dihasilkan. Ekonomi sirkular adalah konsep memaksimalkan nilai penggunaan suatu produk dan komponennya secara berulang, sehingga tidak ada sumber daya yang terbuang. Oleh karena itu, Program Studi Teknik Industri Universitas Widyatama menyelenggarakan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dengan memberikan penyuluhan Pengelolaan Logistik untuk Mengurangi Dampak Sampah, di SMK Wahana Bakti Kabupaten Majalengka yang berlokasi di Jl. Siti Armilah No.62, Majalengka Kulon, Kec. Majalengka pada Senin, 24 Juli 2023. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tentang aktifitas logistik dan pengelolaan sampah di sekolah terhadap lingkungan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) ini menggunakan metode sosialisasi/penyuluhan yang terdiri dari tiga orang dosen, dan dua orang mahasiswa kepada 48 siswa. Untuk mengukur indikator keberhasilan dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini, dilakukan penyebaran kuesioner sebelum (pre-test) dan sesudah (post-test) melakukan pemapaparan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman siswa mengenai pengelolaan logistik terhadap lingkungan. Dengan adanya PKM mengenai pengeloaan logistik untuk mengurangi dampak sampah kepada siswa SMK Wahana Bakti Kabupaten Majalengka menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 24% dalam pemahaman siswa, sehingga diharapakan siswa dapat melakukan pemilahan dan mengelola sampah di sekolahnya. Selanjutnya diharapkan siswa dapat berkolaborasi dengan mahasiswa Teknik Industri Universitas Widyatama untuk membuat inovasi produk dalam pengelolaan dan pemilahan sampah seperti yang dibuat oleh mahasiswa Teknik Industri yaitu “Trash Scope” sebagai bentuk keberlanjutan pengabdian.

Abstract

The study aimed to assess the efficacy of HPLC instruments in a pharmaceutical laboratory at PT. XYZ by evaluating three OEE matrices (availability, performance, and quality) and identifying the losses leading to low OEE scores affecting the chromatography process performance. The method used is quantitative to calculate the availability rate, performance rate, and quality ratio based on the breakdown data and quantity of product data, followed by calculating the OEE score and comparing the obtained OEE and the world-class standard OEE score. The results demonstrate that the average availability rate in 2022 is 90,73%, the performance rate is 90,45%, and the quality ratio is 95,55%, resulting in the OEE score of 78,42%, which does not meet the world-class OEE standards score. To identify the problems causing the low OEE score, a qualitative analysis is performed using Current Condition Analysis and Fish Bone Diagram. Research indicates that five factors contribute to low OEE scores for HPLC instruments in PT. XYZ, including Method, Man, Machine, Material, and Environment. For each factor, the proposed improvement is described to increase the OEE score, including establishing the maintenance procedure, a training program for laboratory personnel, inventory management for spare parts, and an operating procedure. Keywords: Total Productive Maintenance, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, HPLC, Fish Bone Diagram

Abstract

This study focuses on a rattan-based manufacturing unit producing Base Plant Stand products, where a significant number of defects—2,305 units out of 9,000—were identified, resulting in a current sigma level of 3.14. By employing qualitative and quantitative research approaches, the study aims to identify root causes of product defects and propose process improvements to minimize their occurrence. Using the DMAIC framework of Six Sigma, the most frequent defect types were mold (27.9%), imprecision (22.7%), loose tie (20.9%), and pinhole (15.88%). Key contributing factors included excessive humidity, limited production space, insect infestation, and insufficient operator skills. Based on field research and literature, the proposed improvements include covering products with tarpaulins during rainy conditions, expanding work-in-progress (WIP) space, providing operator training, and developing clear standard operating procedures (SOPs). These recommendations aim to enhance product quality and increase the sigma level through systematic, continuous improvement. The findings are a practical reference for similar small-scale manufacturing operations seeking to optimize their production processes through quality management tools.Keywords: Six Sigma, DMAIC, 5W+1H, Product Defects, Rattan

Abstract

PT BCD is one of the large pharmaceutical companies in Bandung, West Java which plays the role of main distributor. PT BCD is facing a problem related to its company logistics. The problem in question is in the form of customer complaints that reflect a bad image for the company, especially regarding on-time delivery. Many of these complaints came from outlets in the central rayon area consisting of RS A, RS B, RS C, Pharmacy D, Pharmacy E, Pharmacy F, PBF G, PBF H, and PBF I. In an effort to overcome this problem, the management plans to launch a program called same-day delivery service so it is necessary to carry out research that integrates the saving matrix method to determine the most optimal distribution route for pharmaceutical products so that the distance traveled in delivery is the shortest as well as carrying out mathematical considerations regarding fleet investment decisions based on which offers are available. Provides the greatest savings using the total cost of ownership (TCO) net present value method approach. From the results of the analysis of the two integrated methods, a picture of the decision in the form of the most optimal route based on the saving matrix analysis is obtained, namely PT BCD – RS A – RS B – PBF G – PBF H – PBF I – Apotek F – RS C – Apotek E – Apotek D – PT BCD with the decision to procure a fleet in the form of purchasing an L300 type box car. Keywords: Logistic, Net Present Value, Same Day Delivery, Saving Matrix

Abstract

This study focuses on optimizing the distribution routes at Jaya Abadi Fruits using the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) method with a Saving Matrix approach. The primary issue is the manual route management that relies solely on the drivers' memory, leading to frequent wastage of travel distance, time, and operational costs. Moreover, the stochastic nature of customer demand complicates daily supply planning and results in suboptimal fulfillment of customer needs. This research utilizes primary data collected through direct observation and interviews to gain an accurate understanding of the distribution process. The Saving Matrix analysis is applied to identify optimal routes, reducing the travel distance from 109.4 km to 61.8 km (a savings of 43.51%), cutting travel time from 4.46 hours to 2.20 hours (a savings of 50.67%), and lowering distribution costs from IDR 279,400 to IDR 231,800 (a savings of 17.04%). Abstract

Desa Cikurubuk di Kabupaten Sumedang, memiliki potensi besar dalam produksi padi organik. Melalui kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM), dilakukan pelatihan kepada petani mengenai sistem logistik pertanian dan penguatan rantai pasok beras organik guna meningkatkan efisiensi produksi serta mutu hasil pertanian. Tujuan dari kegiatan PkM ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan petani Desa Cikurubuk dalam budidaya padi organik yang efisien, seragam, dan berkelanjutan melalui penguatan teknik penanganan dan penyimpanan bahan pascapanen, serta pemahaman rantai pasok dan logistik pertanian. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup pelatihan dan penyuluhan interaktif, diskusi kelompok, serta pengukuran pre-test dan post-test untuk menilai pemahaman peserta. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan petani mengenai teknik budidaya, efisiensi biaya pupuk organik, dan manajemen distribusi hasil panen. Sebanyak 85% peserta mengalami peningkatan nilai post-test. Selain itu, petani berhasil memetakan rantai pasok lokal dan mengidentifikasi kelemahan utama seperti pengeringan dan pengemasan yang belum optimal. Pelatihan ini juga memicu inisiatif pembentukan kelembagaan distribusi berbasis komunitas. Kegiatan PkM ini menjadi langkah strategis menuju pertanian berkelanjutan dan sistem logistik desa yang lebih terorganisir. Keberlanjutan kegiatan ini akan ditopang melalui pendampingan lanjutan pada aspek teknis dan kelembagaan lokal.

Abstract

The availability of the number of vehicles in Karawang Regency is not matched by the availability of fuel at gas stations. Due to the very high demand for fuel, the Cikampek BBM Terminal has several problems, including the absence of a standard distribution route in distributing its products to gas stations so that it takes a long time and the high amount of transportation costs that must be borne by the company. In this study, the route and distribution schedule will be determined as well as determining the capacity and number of tanker trucks that are able to minimize mileage, travel time and transportation costs. Based on calculations using the Saving Matrix method, it produces efficiency in the number of vehicles needed from 7 trucks to 4 tanker trucks, vehicle usage from 9 times to 6 times, distance traveled from 63 KM to 53 KM and the difference in transportation costs per day is Rp. 1,312,633.

Abstract

Total Quality Management is an important business-level strategy because it can create a competitive advantage. This study aims to analyze the Effect of Total Quality Management on employee creativity, performance, and Competitive Advantage. This study examines Total Quality Management as a potential source of competitive advantage. This research shows that most features are generally related to Total Quality Management, such as quality training, process improvement, an open culture, employee empowerment, and executive commitment can produce benefits. This research is quantitative research using primary data. The statistical tool used is regression at a 5% significance level. The research results indicate that all hypotheses are accepted. It means that Total Quality Management affects employee's creativity, performance, and competitive advantage. In addition, based on the theory of competitive advantage, corporate resource-based theory, and system theory. It can be concluded that Total Quality Management can produce cost-based benefits or differentiation to encourage the success of Total Quality Management in achieving competitive advantage.

Abstract

Food and beverage packaging waste is the predominant category of household waste on the Widyatama University campus. Responsibility for waste management lies with Widyatama University and requires collaboration from diverse stakeholders, including producers. Waste management employs various methods. The research endeavors to construct a waste management model utilizing concepts of green logistics and extended producer responsibility (EPR) to bolster the green campus initiative by harnessing packaging waste potential. The green logistics concept runs a series of processes—reduction, recycling, reuse, and material substitution—directed at packaging waste and transportation to a Waste Bank. EPR concept incorporates policies incentivizing environmentally-conscious product creation, expanding the producer's responsibility. This concept extends to collaborations with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) around campus. Research simulations demonstrate a substantial reduction in waste volume, from 144 m3 to 72 m3 annually. The cost of waste management decreases by Rp11,352,400 from Rp36,244,800 to Rp24,872,400 annually, resulting in an efficiency of 31.34%.   Abstrak Sampah kemasan makanan dan minuman merupakan jenis sampah rumah tangga terbesar di kampus Universitas Widyatama. Pengelolaan sampah itu menjadi tanggung jawab pihak Universitas Widyatama dan memerlukan keterlibatan dan dukungan dari berbagai pihak, termasuk pihak produsen. Pengelolaan sampah dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa metode. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat model pengelolaan sampah dengan pendekatan konsep green logistics dan extended producer responsibility (EPR) untuk mendukung green campus melalui pemanfaatan limbah kemasan makanan dan minuman di lingkungan Universitas Widyatama. Konsep green logistics diterapkan dengan rangkaian proses reduction, recycle, reuse, dan subsitusi material pada sampah kemasan dan pengirimannya ke Bank Sampah. Konsep EPR memiliki prinsip kebijakan yang mendorong sistem penciptaan suatu produk dengan mempertimbangkan aspek lingkungan dari sisi daur hidup produk tersebut dengan cara memperluas tanggung jawab produsen. Konsep ini diterapkan melalui kolaborasi dengan usaha mikro kecil dan menengah (UMKM) di sekitar lingkungan kampus. Dari simulasi pada penelitian ini diperoleh penurunan volume sampah dari 144 m3 menjadi 72 m3 per tahun. Biaya pengelolaan sampah turun sebesar Rp11.352.400 dari Rp36.244.800 menjadi Rp24.872.400 per tahun, sehingga diperoleh efisiensi sebesar 31,34%.
